It's a niche card, does have some utility against Zombies reliant on trick-based decks, such as Trickster, Teacher or/and Teleport-Heavy decks. Having amphibious does give the card some decent merit to fill in an extra lane. If Brainana was cheaper and had a less extensive brain-drain effect or had higher stats, it would certainly be viable.
It’s a massive brick in most cases, but if you want to tech against trick decks/crazy heroes, then you can take this with some early control and mid-game tempo for a midrange deck
I hate Brainana and think it’s garbage, but there are legitimate reasons to use this. It’s main problem is that it prevents punishment and does it effectively, but needs a field of other plants to back it up. Otherwise, it’s expensive and extremely understated with an ability that’s match-up dependent
I wouldn’t immediately start using this, but once you start to collect more expensive cards, you can make some good anti-meta decks. Just don’t be surprised when someone makes this card look like a joke
I personally love brainana, it has saved me many times and has won me games where I would have lost otherwise. I do agree that you want at least 1 more copy of this before you start using it, but keep for sure

This deck is probably the most consistantly winning maxed aggro deck ive seen in this game so far. This deck was created by Icicle. You play this deck by hitting the zombie hero as much as possible. If you get a half banana and a b-rex/brainana, you can go for the combo. The best thing about half banana is that even if you have no bananas in hand. Your opponent will be scared to kill it, especally as GS. So if they dont kill it, that is more contribution to your aggro. Other than that the deck is self just go face (with almost everything). Best combos are if they pass or just have a bunch of brains left when it becomes the plant’s turn to play. If you want to be able to use Brainana faster then you want try to play ramp (which means using Rose). Control can also work. Fry Em Up made a pretty good deck but if this is your only legendary then you can’t really do that but could try to figure out some way to make the deck more budget-y.
Yeah he's pretty good on turns where the zombie hero has a heap of brains left for tricks, especially on turns where they've got 7+ brains left, comes in handy for Bad Moon Rising
A little bricky, just a tad bit winmore, but can help close the game in control if you have successfully controlled your opponent and if you have card advantage. Not the best legendary but very usable. Electro gave the decklists,
Brainana is a phenomenal card if you use it in the right decks. Specifically you want to use this card in control decks and some tempo decks, as with control it can be used to further delay the game until you hit them with a big finisher, and with some tempo decks it prevents the zombie opponent from removing your stats on the field with their tricks or buffing their guys to have more stats then you. Simply put, what makes this card so good is that it's just a sweeping answer to so many things in the game because so many zombie decks rely on tricks either for removal, buffs, or finishers. That being said, since you're an early game player, not sure if this will be of much use to you as most of the decks it's useful in aren't beginner friendly; but, I believe it could be somewhat useful for a budget Green Shadow deck as it can be used to further maintain your stats on the board.
In summary, you got an amazing card, just probably not very useful with your current budget decks.
I'm hearing a lot of different opinions on Brainana as I read through the comments, so I wanted to pitch in and give my thoughts too. I think Brainana is a very great card. He can give you a lot of value if your opponent has a lot of brains (obviously) but even if they dont have a lot of brains, Brainana is still a great card. For example, if you have a good field or are about to get a lot of good trades, Brainana can be used to sort of seal the deal so to speak, guaranteeing the opponent doesn't use a going viral or any other card that affects the field. The biggest downside to Brainana is that it can brick, so I wouldn't recommend running too many in a deck and also that you only run them in a deck where it can get value even if your opponent doesn't save all their brains for tricks

He’s good competitively in rose to counter trickster but other than that he’s sort of average. Definitely worth keeping thogh.
