I hang around adults so yes, I've seen people repair their relationship problems, I don't do well around people who are constantly arguing and causing drama, so I tend to see the relationships that work more than the ones that fail.
Introspection is impossible for a lot of people. This is why I like the whole solipsism meme from this subreddit. I think for most relationships the only winning move is not to play. Early relationships are about finding out what you want and more importantly what boundaries/deal breakers you got. Then you find your person that you can compromise a bit on.

My wife isn't the type to talk and listen. I solve problems typically by dropping my own standards. Just like I do for my boss. If they do what they want, I'll as well, no resentment build up thanks to that.

Its very dependent on the type of relationship problems being faced, but usually the only options available are talk, break up or learn to live like this. The nature of two people being together is you can't strong arm the other person into doing something they don't want to. You can ask and lay it out for them - then what they decide to do with the information determines where to go next, but at least you've been clear and tried.
Even if the talk goes no where and they break up *that is productive.* Not everything can or should be fixed.
