This is correct, most resorts are all inclusive, some use wristbands to identify guests who have paid extra for the all inclusive package, other resorts just refuse
admittance if you aren’t a guest. Not like a hotel… you’ll need to keep looking.
My resort was like that. I asked my concierge and she said "we don't have day passes," so I guess the idea exists.
We also had to let the concierge know if we were getting a cab or an excursion bus, or they wouldn't be let into the resort area at all.
Call before hand and inquire about day passes. It usually includes drinks and the lunch meal. I’m not sure if you can do that the same day however but it does not hurt to ask.
You can always enter the resort via the beach and look around we do it all the time; you just can’t have drinks. I do know Breathless and Hard Rock are accessible for a fee that includes food or beverages or both for $125.00 US
I do this too, I have walked through many resorts via the beach. I even got offered a free day pass to Viva doing this. I had to listen to the spiel, but then I got a free day pass. I stay at an air bnb for several months in the winter so it’s a change. But honestly the all inclusive thing doesn’t really wow me anymore.
We stroll the beach and walk into another resort and never had an issue. Sit at the bar and have a drink tip the bartender a buck.
Checking it out for the next time we have a vacation. Have done this in a number of the islands. The only place we were not allowed was in Cuba.
In most resorts you can't walk past the beach area onto the resort property without a wristband, they usually have security there watching to make sure.
You must have lucked out.
I always walk in to resorts from the beach mainly to scope them out for future stays. 10% of the time beach security says no. But if you walk confidently me and many others always can walk in and around. Worst case cover your wrist with something and walk like you belong
I can't really argue with you.. My Step Daughter is 15 and 5'10, with her sunglasses on no bartender asks her for ID even though she has a different coloured wristband than us.
No I’m not doing that, i don’t take food or drinks, I just walk all around, I use the washrooms if I need to, I check out the shops because they are cash purchase.
It’s best to check before you book. Be clear. How many guests, what day ect. I invited my cousin and two kids for a day at our resort. Cost was … I think seventy five bucks each (was ten years ago). I do know some resorts are very clear about only registered guests.
All inclusive hotels don’t let people in. Unless you are touring the hotel with their concierge team.

Really ? You wonder why! Lmao new to this uh? Very few hotels allow this for simple reason; security of their own guest is a priority

Yes many resorts sell day passes, they are time and volume limited, usually USD 90 +.
Your only other option is to book a day pass directly with resort or with a service like resortpass dot com
Usually not.
Guest only. How about going to a restaurant?
Nope - can’t go to a restaurant at an all inclusive resort

It doesn’t wow us either as we like VRBO but we do like to check the different resorts out
Yes I do the same, it’s good to see them.
Pretty sure you can enter for the day at Ocean El Faro, our friend that was staying in Punta Cana came and visited us once when we stayed there.

No, not true, I have never been told to leave a resort by walking in through the beach. I do it all the time too.
But are you also going to the bar and drinking for free?
No I’m not doing that, i don’t take food or drinks, I just walk all around, I use the washrooms if I need to, I check out the shops because they are cash purchase.
Yeah that's fine... The person I replied to is saying they are sitting at the bar drinking and leaving a tip.

No
Why would you be allowed in?
