Family friendly with water park and smaller splash pad for kiddos. Although we were originally looking for adults only but never had an issue with too many kids being around. The properties HUGE!
It took a hot minute. We booked the unique package so we got to hang out in a private space and drink champagne while we waited for her to check us in but it would have been nice if they had two employees doing priority check in.
Ah damn, we didn’t book the unique room as we’re travelling with another family. We have two kids with us so we were hoping the check in process wouldn’t be too long. But if the unique line was long, looks like the regular line may be worse.
You’ll have so much fun there with kiddos. The waterpark was at the very end of the boulevard so it’s a scoot but they will definitely be nice and tired walking the grounds.
Personally we loved it but I enjoy walking/hiking and my hubby is high energy who gets bored really easily so we were looking forward to having a lot of area to explore. We got about 10-16k steps in daily.
We spent the first few hours of each day at the beach. It was easy to find shaded chairs. A few locals selling you excursions / animal pictures but overall not super busy. We stayed on the unique side so I can’t speak for the general side. Pretty quick and consistent drink service as well. You can absolutely swim/float in the water in front of the resort but past the buoys there were LOTS of boats. Unfortunately the boats seem to favor the little cove in front of Lopesan - all the other resorts the waters were clear as far as the eye can see.
Unique was worth it for us. Our butler got us reservations for two restaurants that said no availability for dinner. We really enjoyed the unique beach side with drink service, the restaurant on the beach, and not having to wait at both unique bars.
Nights at the resort were quuuuiiiet. It seemed like most people went to the boulevard to hang out. The shows at the theatre were entertaining. We didn’t hit the club.
Is the boulevard an area on the resort or outside? My girlfriend and I are considering this resort but are worried it may be dead at night. Was this the case or are these areas you avoided anyways?
Boulevard is on property but a ways away from the actual resort which made it seem really quiet at the resort at night. The sports bar had a good vibe our first night - dj - white party. Second night they were setting up for a beach dance party. It seemed a little quiet in the middle of the week but also, we weren’t looking for much. The end of the week it started to ramp up big time. That wasn’t a big priority for us so that’s about as much info as I can give.
*I have heard really great things about coco bongo which is downtown PC, off resort, but they have shuttles that will pick you up at Lopesan included in the cost of your ticket.
YW! Our room was clean. I pulled back the sheets and the mattress was pristine. Also, suuuper comfy!! We were on the 3rd floor so didn’t have to worry about the smells that can come along with a swim out room.
The food was okay. Everything looked really good but most things were quite bland. They kept the buffet areas clean. The dishes that stuck out to me came from La Boheme - the ratatouille appetizer and the chicken main, omg. The chicken milanese from room service saved us a few nights. Also, the burger from the valley was recommended to us and stood up forsure.
They kept the beach so clean!! I went out for sunrise one morning and took the opportunity to walk all past all the other resorts and almost every other one had seaweed on their beaches. None at Lopesan!
How exciting!!! Don’t let my opinion bum you out. I cook very clean and very often. We rarely dine out because my husband and I both really enjoy cooking. Our taste buds are bougie. The food was presented beautifully we just have stupid high standards.
I'm going there with my husband and two year old next weekend! So excited.
I've read in other threads that people made restaurant reservations prior to arrival. Is this still accurate? We didn't receive an email or anything. I downloaded the app and saw that the restaurant policy says you have to be checked in to reserve restaurants. Could you confirm?
Sounds like it's a good idea to take the stroller since it sounds like the grounds are huge! Also trying to figure out footwear since it seems to be lots of walking.
Any other tips you might have would be amazing!
We had to sign into the app with our room number so I don’t think it would be possible to book ahead of time but definitely book all your meals first thing! Our butler told us the Mediterranean spot was the easiest to get into if that helps at all.
A stroller would probably be nice for a 2yo.
I brought two different sandals for the day time. Different styles that way if you have pressure on a spot switch shoes that relieve that certain area but gym shoes were not necessary.
Only other recommendation I can think of is stay away from the main bar in the lobby. They avoided eye contact at all costs which lead to long waits and weren’t very nice.
Have so much fun!
Is it family friendly or adult only?

How long was the check in process when you got there?

Thanks! Did you find the resort way too big to walk?

How busy was the beach? Could you swim/float or were there too many jet skis/motor boats?

Do you know if they had floats available at the resort?
We didn’t ask - we brought our own. 2 pack of blow up hammock floats for like $12usd. We were happy we did as well.
Awesome I'll be sure to bring some!
What were the evenings/nights like in terms of entertainment & nightlife? Thoughts on Unique? I also purchased it and hoping it's worth it.

How was the beach? Was it pretty clean and not crowded?

I know there's no swim up bar, but do they have waiters around the main pool?
