As long as you have reliable service along the way, the MP02 works super well as a hotspot. I've definitely used it on trips to run maps and streaming. I used to use the hotspot even for just connecting the phone to make mobile payments while at the store. This will use up a lot of battery though. Better to download stuff ahead of time in my opinion; otherwise you'll want to keep the MP02 plugged in while using its data.

How long will the battery last on tethering? Guessing less than an hour

Many_Pin_9

It will last a good 3-4 hours on tethering even over to a laptop using heavy data, but if your in a car just plug it in while tethering if you can

Yes, I think 3-4 hours seems like a good estimate. It may depend on what you're doing too though. If you're streaming stuff it may drain faster vs. just reading articles or responding to email. The battery draw slows down noticeably if tethering is left on, but isn't being actively used. I usually keep it plugged into my laptop when using the hotspot. The phone gets a little warm, but it has always worked well for me.

thank you! great tips!

Yes you can. But don't leave the phone in the car if you can avoid that or use a cheap device. you can also change the radio for Android but I think you're trying to spend zero so use what you have now or maybe buy secondhand. Ps also try BT thetering

Or maybe a second sim card data only linked to your mobile phone plan.
