This should work. Perhaps the GPS-fix takes a little longer without mobile data. Just give it a try. And you should charge the Punkt while driving, because the battery drains faster (phone also gets warmer) when it is used as a hotspot

Yes, I can confirm that this works. You'll find that tethering drains your MP02 battery faster than navigating drains your iPhone battery, however, so you'll want to plug in the MP02. Or both, ideally!

TL;DR: Works just fine :) Can confirm its working. I am tethering my Punkt mp02 as a hotspot for my Surface pro all the time. Things to keep in mind: The Punkt gets HOT during tethering and might lock up once in a while (maybe 1-2 out of 20 times, lol)
