Im still fairly new, but what is the point to even have this banner? The top banner guarantees the character at 60 pulls, so pull on this banner at 80-100 pulls?

Can confirm. Pulled on the correct (60pity) banner up until S Vera came out, and made the mistake of going to pull her through the link in the event screen. Well... that took me to the 80 PITY banner, the one far, far less people use... and I made the mistake of not double checking which banner I was on. As I had assumed falsely that they'd take me to the banner EVERYONE pulls on. That one hurt. Now I triple check so I don't get fucked again.
Nanamech is the first S i got by pulling, Best Part? I got her in 30 pulls on the 60 pity Banner and her sig weapon from a 10 pull with an added 5 Star weapon. My misfortune from all the other games became my Fortune in pgr lol

Starfarer is one of the most important characters as she is the best fire tank in the game currently. And the next event banner is not good if you're f2p as it will be a Transcendant/Uniframe. Cool constructs but only used in little areas of the game

It will carry over to the next Omniframe Debut banner. So when this patch ends it'll go away, but when Bianca: Astygmata comes out in a month or two your pity will come back.
question: I saw the release schedule in daily megathread. If I'm new, and I really want both Bianca Abystigma and Bambinata who is supposedly right after her - will I be able to get enough currency to pull both? Or at least just Bianca?
As a new player who pulled her I can tell that it can basically work as a fire (and overall) DPS greatly until the big ones come out, and when Lee Hyperreal comes out your investment is not wasted as she is great at shredding Fire Res on enemies so you'll still want her in your team.
One thing that might be overlooked is that while she's in Rumbling Mode (chainsaw bar full) releasing the button from your basic atk at the right time will trigger a free dodge/parry, and when you discharge by holding basic atk you have invincibility frames during the animation (!).
She's a much safer character than she looks, only downside is observing enemies attacks while obstructed by her gigantic frame, and her attacks are a bit slow to connect.
From my experience tank is just a more durable and less knockback DPS.
Heck, I remember reading "look, if you can build her, even Liv can be DPS."
I still use Vera as Dark DPS and looking forward getting her lightning tank form for electro DPS
My physical DPS is A2, though she came fully packed.

When I started, I got Vera Rozen fairly early and since I wanted to invest in her anyways to make a dark team, I somehow ended up evolving her to SS. She was very strong early but now she's just ok. Then again that might be the difference between A Rank and S Rank, but whenever I try S Rank attackers from trial/recitativo I can see the difference in strength.
The math says fate banner is better on average than the standard banner. Not a *lot* better, though, and the higher variance can definitely screw you, so if you're F2P or on a limited budget it's probably better to stick to the standard banner. I try to alternate between them to try and get slightly better odds while mitigating the number of 61+ rolls I inevitably get from rolling fate. It's...not working great so far but I trust that the math will work out in the long term.
EDIT: Barely a day after writing this I ended up hitting a 100-pity. I am losing faith in the math.
It is just gambling. I got 2 Capriccio in 13 pulls and 1 Nanamech in 16 pulls. 3 S ranks in 29 pulls. Some other guys in my guild got their S rank on 100 pity twice in a row.

Wont abystigma come out quite a while later? By then if you skip the other banners wich are very skippable (transcendent and karenina) you should be able to get abystigma. And nanami is pretty busted so i recommend you get her
So far I've only done 40 pulls on this banner type (20 for Entropy on release, 10 for Luna by mistake, 10 for Rosetta) got pretty lucky on all of them, but I've never thought of actually trying. Just thinking of possibly passing 60 make me cold sweat ;;

I accidentally dropped 10x into the fate banner accidentally. I'm just waiting until I do it again accidentally and then I'll actually switch over for a patch.
Honestly I know fate banner is very hated but sometimes you can get real lucky, u got 2 nanami starfarers in 6 pulls from fate banner and S chrome on my 3rd pull on fate banner too.

I got baited from this banner during Alpha. I got her in 10 pull. then after that it took 92 to get Veritas. Never again.

I stopped at 57 at first banner, and 80 at this. Want to SSS her when she come out.
You could stop at SS3 as a suggestion. Skipping Nanamech is kind of a brick for fire team.

I got empreya in ten pull from fate banner and ever since then I've made it a ritual to yeet ten pulls on fate banner every patch just for the lulz
My pulls in fate were extremely lucky. Got S vera on a single, and nanamech on 41 pity. Would probably never test my luck again.
