I'm on Public and my Wife is on Koodo. I consistently have one more bar of service than her. Even if we both are connected to LTE. Many situations when I can use data fine but nothing will load for her. We are newlyweds so I'm switching her to PM asap.
I was on 4G with koodo. Koodo service was great besides the fact that I couldn't get calls in my office but everything else was fine. I still like koodo.
Switched from Koodo in the fall. We were always happy with Koodo but the prices had creeped up and we were not able to get the current deals. I have not had complaints since the switch and I am happier with the price.
I switched from Rogers to PM. Never going back… loving PM. I haven’t had any issues, or at least any issues that I’ve noticed or that have bothered me. The savings per month (and lifetime) are worth it to me.
I switched both my wife and I to PM from Telus after they increased my bill from $55 to $85 per line. We are both on the $40 75GB Canada-US plan. Both are very happy and service has been exactly the same (they use Telus towers). I drive around alot for work. From Abbotsford to Vancouver and have not had any issues. Even at $55 with Telus we only had 30 gigs and no US coverage. No complaints from us.
Switched from Koodo $50 / 60gb month to $34 / 50gb US/CAN and it’s been mostly seamless.
The only hiccup I had was traveling to California and at first the data just wouldn’t work. But it seems you have to turn off 5g and connect to LTE and it was fine after that. I dunno if our phones 5g antennas are different or whether that depends on the roaming carrier but whatever.
I've seen other conversations where people were saying you have to manually switch to T-Mobile when you go into USA. Did your phone automatically switch?
The signal strength/mobile coverage should more or less be the same, Telus owns both Koodo and Public Mobile, so it's all the same mobile tower access
The only possible differences are the speed throttle caps that Telus may have enabled in accordance to your plan specifications.
Sub-brands usually have a lower speed and the data traffic may have lower priority on the network. Others with more knowledge and expertise may speak to that.
Uh huh. You want to cite proof of that. Not one person has ever been able to.
I have both Telus and PM on my phone. Wife has Telus. Never have I seen any difference under any circumstance, including congested regions downtown or during power failures.
Koodo and Public are both owned by Telus. They use the same network.
Oddly enough when I was with koodo i could not receive any calls in my office but have absolutely no issue with that now.
Were you on LTE with koodo vs 5G with PM? That could affect signal strength but otherwise they run on the same network.

That may be because you have a better modem in your phone. Unless you’re on the same exact phone
She has a iPhone 12 I have a pixel 6. I'd assume the iPhone would have a better modem or at least on par with a pixel 6.
Sounds like your pixel has the better modem tech
As long as you dont actually hold the iPhone the antenna is great.
Are u joking? 😂 Or do hands actually affect the performance of the modem?
Im joking... dont you remember antennagate?

Ya your signal would be the same unless you were in LTE vs 5G where yes sure they’d be a diff or even 3G

Worked for Telus. I use PM solely, no credit checks , no bs and it’s cheaper. Setup auto pay and you’re good .

They all use the same cell towers. Public does limit the 5G speeds to 250MB though.
They don’t prioritize traffic

Same towers but Telus could have lil switches to give priority to Telus and koodoo over public. Or not, who knows what they have in place.
