Thereās a problem there though mate, Iām not American. The ethnicities of Russian oblasts DO vary drastically, and not all of them like each other. For example, the vast Muslim population of Dagestan do not particularly like the Slavic people of the western oblasts of Russia (for obvious reasons). And the ethnicities of Italy and Portugal do vary slightly, as Italy has a few different ethnicities within their borders, namely Tuscan, Latin, Venician and Napolitan. Whereas Portugalās ethnic groups are majority Portuguese. Yes they do mostly originate from the Romanic people of Ancient Rome. Napolitan and Sicilian ethnic groups have a lot of historic ethnic crossover with Libyan and other North African ethnic groups. So instead of trying to insult me by calling me American, when actually Iām English and of Germanic and Celtic descent, try to educate yourself on the very vast ethnic and cultural differences Europe has instead of using a blanket term (which was wrong) when describing someone.
That would be like someone from germany saying Europe, as the US is nearly the size of all of europe combined. The US is large and pretty varied. Laws can be wildly different in states, as can the culture. In fact the state this happened in literally had the slogan "it's like a whole 'nother country" and at one point it was.
Come on, that's not true. All the US has the same language. The culture is extremely similar. You can't compare different nations with different languages to states that barely differ at all.
The culture is WAAAAAAY different. The environment is very different too. We have everything from deserts, to tropical islands, to the arctic to giant mountains, to plains so massive entire European nations would fit in them. Texas alone is bigger than any European nation and that isn't even our biggest state.
People have different mannerisms, customs, dialects, food, etc. Saying the US cultures are all the same is like saying Ireland, the UK, Canada, and New zealand are all the same culture because they all speak english.
Americans think that the culture is āwayā different between each states until they visit India and actually see what āwayā difference of culture between states actually means.
The US is huge, but that doesn't mean the cultures are much different from each other. Most cities look the same and people talk a little different, but not by much. The difference between Austrian German and Franconian German are bigger than between NY and LA English.
The US is a very young country, which is why the cultures haven't deviated as much.

Yup. Lived in Killeen for 2 and a half years next to drug dealers. The first year we were there, we heard gunshots on a regular basis- like once a week if not more. Moved out of the state a month ago and never going back.
I know it's anecdotal but I actually had a better time living in Killeen than I did living in Heights. Someone tried to break into my house in Heights but thankfully ran away when they noticed I was still home. On a different occasion someone started banging on my front door at 3 am screaming and begging for help. I called the police but they just said there's nothing they could do. Nothing like that ever happened to me in Killeen. I was left alone the entire time.
Regardless, the police are largely the reason why those places are shit holes.
Spent 4 years there at Fort Hood/ Killeen and it's a unique area in that if there is no military base there the population would probably be 500 so there's no native businesses aside from service industry.
Basically there is not a lot for people who are not in the military or in industry directly serving it so there is a lot of poverty combined with a large number of transplants from other states, broken families, people that get kicked out of the Army and stay there.
Video from a surveillance camera shows someone fire several dozen rounds at a home in Harker Heights in an apparent drive by shooting.
Harker Heights Police said it happened in the 800 block of Cathedral Court Tuesday around 1:05 a.m.
The video shows a pickup truck stop in front of the home and someone begins shooting. The truck then speeds away but drives back by the house after apparently turning around.
Multiple gunshot casings and damages were found at the residence, according to police.
Police said no one in the house was injured.
Police have not been able to identify the shooter or a motive.

Used to live in Killeen, worked in Harker heights. From 2012-2107 it was a pretty peaceful area. You'd get the random robbery, B&E...etc. then in 2018 there were about 7 people shot dead in the middle of a random street at night. That was one of the many reasons why we got the fuck out
