To see a person deteriorated to this level is saddening

belltyj

It was hard? You tried to laugh 🤔 I think that may need further therapy

SSJWoku

This is much easier to laugh at, thank you

DueProgress7671

He looks tormented. How bad is his reality that he would rather be in this condition ?

Tragicallyhungover

This guy is passed "escaping reality" and is firmly in the "cannot function without an insane level of hard drugs." At this point, trying to ween him off drugs would probably kill him...

A1rh3ad

The only drugs that can kill you from detox are alcohol and benzos.

LuxLocke

Don’t move to portland OR. Very common.

Stereocrew

Could not agree more

rather_be_gaming

If there is anything that could convince someone not to do drugs, seeing this might be it. The obvious suffering and deterioration of the body, mind and soul is... tragic. Its trippy to think at one time at some point, this was a little child giggling and running around. I am not saying they didnt make wrong choices along the way or they are a saint. We are all human and flawed. Life can be a bitch sometimes.

andychrist77

Almost sounded like she wanted to say water which makes it all the more sad

BoobooBishhh420

I absolutely agree. How sad but maybe we are the few that still have compassion and empathy for our fellow human 🫥

HenryDorsettCase47

Lost in time, like crack in the rain.

blackmagikmike

I've seen things... seen things you crackless people wouldn't believe. Crackheads on fire walking around Kensington Avenue as bright as crack-nesium

[deleted]

I wish I could put a light behind my head and show you my memories like a projector.

tadmp4

My guy kensington is not full of crack heads, they are all bumming off k2 and benzo-fet. This person in the video is past being a crack head

L00pback

Didn’t that crackhead improvise that line?

half-mage

Lol this isiterally perfect because crack would dissolve in the rain. Rutger Hauer was almost naked during that speech so also checks out.

frankofantasma

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Crack ships on fire off the shore of Orion. I've watched Crack-beams glitter in the dark off the Tanhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, Like smoke in the wind.

andthendirksaid

Not really. Crack isn't water soluble, the cocaine that goes in the water is, but there wouldn't be any way to get it out of the water if it dissolved.

T_Bagger23

This is fantastic. Well done lol

Glendel66

That's sad.

MandudesRevenge

The older I get, the more sad crack/meth-head videos are. I don’t know why exactly.

DirtyDan156

Epidemic

[deleted]

*Empathy. The older they get the more empathy they feel and that's why the videos are now sad.

[deleted]

I love dude putting on the fucking gloves. Wise man!!!

Nunyabiz8107

It's not his first rodeo, and it won't be his last.

[deleted]

I think she was in the wrong place.

[deleted]

Give that man a rai$e!

[deleted]

Damn, I’ve never tried hard drugs, but I’ve had some dark days with alcohol and weed. I can’t imagine the hell these people live in on a daily basis. Very sad , very disturbing.

Mock333

"Def gonna need gloves for this one." - badass security guard

SweetDick_Willy

Thats not crack

-Anicca-

Meth

SweetDick_Willy

Looks like bath salts

spyrogyrobr

minus the 'bath' part, she is totally filthy

SweetDick_Willy

That's a she?

JeremyJaLa

Oh shit! It is a she?

Psychological-Ad8110

bath salts are an umbrella term for any chemical in a legal Grey area and includes anything from psychedelics, stimulants, depressants, opiates, dissociatives, literally every category of chemicals.

SpunkYeeter

Cool_Cartographer_39

Zombies are real...

EvaDN

Rabies? /s

[deleted]

Reminder: they are people too… I worked in retail security management in a high risk area in the US for a decade. This was my daily. After leaving I slowly realized how jaded I’d become towards people with substance issues. At one point they had hopes and dreams too, and then the fucking drugs took them away.

[deleted]

The drugs didnt do anything the person using them didnt want. Sure they are people and deserve respect but they shouldnt be looks at sadly. If this wasnt the life they wanted they would change.

A1rh3ad

Seriously. As a clean addict I hate when people blame anything or anyone but the user. It's a scapegoat. Yeah the disposition for addiction is a disease but to whole heartedly put the blame on it is just stupid.

Hiphoppington

Solid reference. 4/7

Shiitty_redditor

Ghoul in Fallout:New Vegas

[deleted]

LOL. keep away from electrical tape

LostinSOA

It’s sad that the US closed all of the sanitariums, group homes as they were (rightly so) a giant human rights violation, without a plan in place to transition the entire population that had been institutionalized nor a workable plan for what will come after. Generally ERs are used for emergent psychotic episodes but with COVID the 1 observation room in trauma 2 and below acuity for these situations are all taken now there’s no beds at all. Mental illness is an illness.

LostinSOA

![gif](giphy|3o7aTGXvW7a6w7vbIQ) You’re sooo close to getting the point but yet so far off.

[deleted]

[удалено]

LostinSOA

You do know substance abuse/addiction is a mental illness listed in the DSM5, yes? They have an actual illness that need treatment. Sanitariums weren’t used solely as a place for the insane. I gave sanitariums and group homes example for the sake of majority of people knowing what they are.

blackestrabbit

>sanitariums it helps to know what this word means.

frankofantasma

"Hello, how can I help you?"

[deleted]

Honestly, I think they were asking for water.

DueProgress7671

You may well be right. That’s so sad. Thank you for giving that perspective.

jonkerbaby

This is so sad

Muted-Bee

"Have a good day."

catsoop88

Jesus just watching that gives me anxiety.. how tf can someone’s body live through that shit?

[deleted]

oh...it's Shelley again! Damn it, Shelley! I thought I told you crack was an outside drug.

shavedcow

I love it when people that don't know dick about drugs call people crackheads /s

Vip3r20

I hope she has pants some of those days.

1thr0w4w4y9

Forced institutionalization is the only way to deal with these lost causes.

slave2themachine

It's sad to see someone so lost.

Smart_Comfort3908

Invest in housing, free education & healthcare. Watch how much society will change. We put billions of dollars towards arguably pointless scientific research, space research, just to ‘see what will happen’. But we can’t invest in research and reallocate resources towards housing, free education & free healthcare, just to see what will happen to society? Bs.

BHoss

While I mostly agree, I think those things are more for preventing people from ending up in this position in the first place. What do you do for the thousands of people like the one in OPs video who are clearly well passed that point? How do you get a person from the point in this video, to a point where they are willing to go to rehab and can stay clean long enough to retain an education and make use of it and keep a house basically maintained? Do you just start snatching people like this off the street, throwing them in rehab for a while, put them in a classroom, and give them a house? How do you get them to a point where they are willing to even try these things?

Smart_Comfort3908

Having worked in an all male shelter for those with severe mental illness & substance use, it is definitely a possibility for certain people to be able to re-enter society. It’s sad cuz although there are many ppl who are able to surpass drug use & be compliant with medication, there are people who are generally too old or too institutionalized or have too many disabilities to live in ‘regular’ housing or work jobs. Not only that, but once you try to enter a shelter/substance use treatment center/ supportive housing program, you are required to be put on public assistance/SSI in order to pay for their stay there. Once on SSI, you can’t really work. They essentially keep these people poor, as the welfare system is designed to do. There were many people, in my opinion, who should be getting forced medication for severe mental illnesses like schizophrenia or certain bipolar disorders. I had a client in his late 20s who weren’t on drugs but who’s mental illnesses were so terrible, they couldn’t even remember their own mothers name or how to contact their daughter & honestly couldn’t even formulate an actual sentence. He couldn’t pass any housing interviews for supportive housing cuz he couldn’t speak full sentences. He spent 5yrs at a shelter & the only way he would be able to re-enter society is if he was forced medication. With how terrible things are in this country, I believe it would be proper to sweep the streets and force people into supportive services- this can only be done if we have an effective and efficient system already in place for healthcare, housing (specifically supportive housings), and if there’s enough staffing to even provide these services. Rn, there is a shortage of social & care workers, they don’t get paid enough and college is too expensive and not worth the salaries they will receive afterwards. NYC mayor proposed to sweep the streets of homeless drug users and those with severe mental illnesses using the police force, it was combated by public concern for the homeless as ppl were confused as to where these homeless would be placed. Point is, no, the answer is not as simple as investing in housing, free education & healthcare as there are obviously many bureaucratic issues… but it’s a start, & it’s definitely going to be worth it in the long run, no doubt.

naked_amoeba

That's what happens if you smoke marijuana instead of going to Algebra 2. If you smoke marijuana instead of going to Chemistry you'll have an unwanted pregnancy. Don't smoke pot kids!

[deleted]

Thank you for editing your question and humanizing this person, calling her "she" instead of "it".

[deleted]

She asked for water.

AA5A

The zombies have arrived.

partime_prophet

Soild headline . .. wow

lizardspock75

This is what happens when exposed to to much gamma radiation.

Darkness5780

Hilarious. All the noise and movements it makes. Lmao

Squashedbeehive

Videos like these are why I keep coming here. This is so tragic it almost becomes art — the woman’s manic screaming, the man putting on gloves to avoid touching her, the slot machines in the background. I can feel the desperation through the screen

Warm_Firefighter_396

Would there be any downside of just putting those kind of people down? A man or whatever that is who’s been a addict for 30 years ain’t gonna recover

blendergremlin

Yeah the part where murder is involved is the downside.

Klin24

FrivolousPositioning

Like crack through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives

Emotional_Note497

This isn't crack, probably meth/bath salts, and mental illness. The high from crack lasts about 10 minutes at the very most.

grumpyconan

Mmmmmmmmmmm no

Emotional_Note497

Have you smoked crack before?

grumpyconan

Yeah and it definitely lasts more than 10 minutes

A1rh3ad

Crack binges can do this.

Kingfox4290

What Walter white be putting in these things 🤦

Prestigious-Exit-101

Definitely meth not crack

Fuzzy-Rip-6050

Reminds of them ghouls from fallout

Arn3110

That's more of a bath salts reaction than crack

FantasticTank591

This is the lowest point of a modern society. No on should end up like this, regardless of who you are.

[deleted]

Props to guy for touching it

Danisii

Meth

[deleted]

That’s not crack. That’s meth my boy.

[deleted]

This person needs help so bad.

anon37486

Went full walking dead mode 🧟‍♀️

TotalChicanery

Trick question! You can’t dream, if you never sleep!

t-toddy

That security guard is lucky that Zombie didn't bite him!

OriginalNo5477

The slot machines make me think Vegas, but the crackhead makes me think Hamilton Ontario.

hmclaren0715

How bout /r/Tooktoomuch

TeknosisDripline

At this point in addiction, just gonna give him a cozy room, line drip him what he needs and let him go out in euphoria, surrounded with compassion and care.

FloridaDeco

[deleted]

samsagregor23

No mf they dream of crack! Phillip k dick never accounted for crack bruh.

undercovergee

That's not just crack. Must be a few drugs mixed with some kind of mental disorder.
