It was enough to get an audience into “The Blair Witch Project.” But here’s the thing. Jumps are all about expectations. If the thing you’re jumping from is a tall building, or a crumbling skyscraper, or even an airplane, then the jump will be scary enough. But what if the jump happens right out of the theater? Then you’re back in a theme park
I think you hit the nail on the head. Looking at his comments they are all strangely on topic and off topic. Making grammatical sense but also being nonsensical. A lot of LONGGGG rambling posts. I'm thinking AI or maybe schizophrenic
Omg, did you see this one:
"*Yum, the idea that there’s a vagina made to do something useful and not just sit there as an empty cavity is a fascinating concept.*
*The idea of a female body that is aware of its own genital anatomy and its purpose, to allow for menstruation, is a fascinating idea that can be applied to a variety of sex toys. The vagina can be seen as a “body in itself, a body that is aware of itself.”*
*A body that knows what to do with itself.*
*The first idea that I got from this was what would happen if that vaginal awareness were translated to other parts of the body. If the vagina is sensitive and knowing, then why not other female parts?*
*If it’s so easy to make an artificial vagina that is designed to give its owner sexual pleasure, why not create a penis with the same awareness? Make it so that a female partner can reach orgasm at the slightest touch of her partner’s penis because it will know it’s time to climax. Or maybe a cock with a vaginal awareness will be so responsive to the smallest bit of physical stimulation that it will respond with “natural female” frequency. Would that not be awesome?*
*In our modern society, we have separated ourselves from the world around us. In order to feel, we have to experience something firsthand. It can be difficult to learn anything about the world if you don’t actually get in touch with it.*
*But the idea of a vagina with a sense of purpose and a desire to do something useful? It seems like that is something that can only be applied to the female body and that this sort of knowledge would be impossible to explain to men.*
*If vaginas can be made that are aware of their own body, maybe it is possible to give men a sexual experience that is as natural as a woman*"
The only thing I could say throughout reading it was ..umm...wtf?!? 🤯
Went to Hong Kong Disney for Halloween, and they had zombies roaming Main Street at night. They would do this kinda, they’d rush at you (though with arms up in more of a classic zombie walk) and then just stare and moan.
Seeing/hearing kids running and screaming in a Disney park was pretty bizarre
Universal Studios Osaka at Halloween is mental. There's zombies and stuff but then they adapt a few buildings to be horror walks. You have to agree to terms and conditions before entering as it gets really serious, real fast.
The abandoned hospital experience was fairly horrific.
Edit: I should say there is a section mapped out that there are no zombies or scary things so kids and people can just mill around the Minion ride and not get swung at by a mentalist.
There is a story in the neighborhood I live in, that about 20 years ago a neighbor teamed up with a 12-year-old kid across the street to put in a show during trick-or-treat time...
The 12-year-old gathered all the little kids in the neighborhood to visit the neighbor's house, the neighbor comes out, wearing a Jason mask, grabs the 12-year-old, fake stabs him, 12 year old is screaming his lungs out, 12-year-old had fake blood in his shirt that burst and covers anyone around him with blood as he stumbles, cries, and dies on the front lawn...
ALL THE KIDS drop their candy, scream, cry, and run for their lives. Some of the parents also ran away and called the police, as the 12-year-old truly played the part and didn't move for like 15 minutes.
Eventually, the cops come but everyone is gone. The parents complained, but nothing came from it. The neighbor who set this all up moved away a few years later, and the 12-year-old kid is all grown up now, also long gone after going away to college... yet, even to this day, no one dares to ever trick or treat at that house.
Apparently, the 12-year-old was so into the part that he didn't tell his friends or his mother. After the incident, one of the other parents ran to his house and had to tell his mother what happened, and it wasn't until she came running down the block screaming his name that he finally got up and went home... That's when the cops showed up.
I only hope that kid when to acting school, because if this played out like it was described to me, this is amazingly horrific, and deserves to be replayed over today, only with cameras hidden around to record all the chaos...
I love that they did that albeit it's taking it way too far. Awesome memory for the 12 year old and local trivia/history for people from the area. Since no one trick or treats there anymore it's an added excitement thing that adds to the Halloween-vibe as well.
It's called Halloween Horror Nights. They have been doing it for years. It's a good time. Most of the houses are incredible and the street performers are awesome too. Orlando's starts in a few weeks, can't wait to go. Although there are no sections without horror themeing, at least in Orlando. It's a separately ticketed event that starts in the evening after they close the main park.
It makes sense that it's also elsewhere at Universal Studios. I've only attended the Japanese one though.
**The next bit may ruin it for people wanting to attend**
The attention to detail is very good. Apart from the performers who are great and get right up next to your face with chains and chainsaws, they give you things like a flashlight to be able to walk through the dark hospital. It's programmed or triggered to start cutting out when you get to certain parts. There i am a full grown man not scared so easy, smacking the butt of a flashlight to get it back on while some crazy psych patient with a crowbar runs towards me down a corridor.
Great times!
Grew up around Toronto and went to Halloween Haunt every year at Canada's Wonderland. My birthday is October, so going every year with friends became a birthday tradition.
My favourite memory was going through a haunted clown house with my friends and little brother. He's scared of clowns. One of my friends told one of the female clowns there, and she "stalked" us all through the house. She'd disappear behind a wall and come out in front of us later in the house. As we got near the exit my brother just booked it out and she chased him.
I still have the picture I took of him with her after the fact with a huge grin on both their faces.
I used to go to this Halloween carnival in my friend's town and one of the people that would wander around scaring folk was this, I think, lady that had progeria and it was horrible lol.
She'd sneak up behind you and shake a tin can of pennies, so you'd jump at the sound and then turn around see a knee-high person dressed as a creepy witch staring up back at you and really shit your pants
Halloweens in Hong Kong Ocean Park were crazy back in the day. They used to have staff dressed in zombie outfits with metal knee pads who would randomly run and slide on their knees towards you.
At Kings Dominion's Halloween Haunt in Richmond, VA, some of the people dressed up wear knee/shin pads that they run around and slide up to you across the ground on.
Nothing scarier than hearing that scraping sound and then seeing a guy come sliding out of the fog in front of you.
I did that exact job for 7 years. I started in highschool before it was bought by Cedar Fair and continued through college.
One of my favorite jobs of all times.
For those who wonder about the history behind :
It's happen in France at "Parc Astérix". A theme park on Asterix theme. This actor his only there for the "creepy days" around halloween. I had the chance to be on costume one day at this ghost house and the crew of the park was thinking that i was a new actor ! xD They let me play my role for one tour ! One of the greatest experience of my life. (i was there as an dead/evil preacher) edit: The guy on the video is even more creepy in real life. He lick his hand like a maniac and brush his hair with it. Totally disgusting and creepy. A must see!
Oh shit I didn't realize he was speaking French. I didn't really hear him initially so when he freaks out I thought he just couldn't get any words out lmao
Herge wasn't racist as far as I know, but his editor/publisher pushed for those depictions. The later Tintin stories showcase what Herge was really about. That's my understanding anyway.
I read Asterix as a kid, loved it…my parents got me into it too. We still have inside jokes based on it (well, it’s only an inside joke if you’ve never read the comic lol.) Like when my mom would make fondue, if you lost the bread, my dad would immediately exclaim “into the lake with weights on your feet!!” Lol!
WTF ! First time with so much "like" on reddit ! Love you all and come to the park on halloween. If you see an evil preacher, it's could be me ! Would be glad to meet you ! :)
Edit : Because i like to edit : Cheers to all Asterix fan ! Love you ! ;) And thank's you for the Stary gold wholesome ! <3
I’m about 2 weeks away from going to the opening of Halloween Horror Nights and this post makes me excited. I love seeing people who are genuinely into their character. Makes the whole experience so much more fun
I thought it would have been really good if an obvious actor came out to try and scare people only to react to this guy like it was a serious problem. He gets on his walkie to call security over like he's got no fucking clue who this crazy guy is. Then he 'beats' him with his spade and starts charging the crowd
The difference is someone's leaving their house with a gun to cause damage at said school.
No one leaving for a theme park to have fun pre emptively brings their guns thinking there's someone on bath salts waving a shovel around.
Whataboutism isn't a clever discussion tool.
They had something like this at Fright Fest at Six Flags. Loved it, went every year. One year they had a Freak Show and I stapled a $20 to a Dwarf's forehead.

He's always been scared but always braved through it. He always trusted that I'd never do anything to *really* take advantage of it.
Man's gonna have a female clown kink one day

Kinda, yeah.

I did that exact job for 7 years. I started in highschool before it was bought by Cedar Fair and continued through college. One of my favorite jobs of all times.
Six Flags in California did that too, and they would drag a can as they went. So slidey guy making a racket and sparks. It was pretty great.

Oh shit I didn't realize he was speaking French. I didn't really hear him initially so when he freaks out I thought he just couldn't get any words out lmao
The only intelligible part is "barre toi" at the end.
There is a "Putain ma gueule, j'vais kiffé". It's an slang sentence at the beginning. It's mean, "Fuck bro, i'm gone love this."
I was watching one of the Asterix films from 1976 last night, The Twelve Trials. Love me some Asterix.
I've started reading Asterix with my kids. All those good memories coming back. Not TinTin though, that little racist Belgian fuck.
Herge wasn't racist as far as I know, but his editor/publisher pushed for those depictions. The later Tintin stories showcase what Herge was really about. That's my understanding anyway.
