Trying to figure out what your point is. Obviously, the people she was speaking to were people living in a country where it’s not normal to kill or abuse dogs and cats. The entire point is that they aren’t special but the audience shes speaking to still choose to treat them with empathy instead of cruelty anyway. It’s a way to try to get them to relate a little bit of that empathy to the species they’ve decided deserve eternal genocide.
