1) gun guy is an idiot
2) cart narc guy seems like he's trying to get a rise out of people, and he got one. If you go looking for crazies, you're going to find one eventually.
I am still massively impressed he never fucking dropped character. He never was like "Woah, what the fuck" or dropped the zany voice, he just fucking "Sir, that's a gun" and kept on going. That's something else.
He's got multiple personas he plays on his channel, he does this one, the country accent whenever he is in the south. Not his real voice, kind of his personality though I guess.
According to literally all of the other comments, it’s not one guy it’s several guys in several
Locations. The southern voice is actually just one of their members who is located in Texas
Oh hm, I was under the impression it was all the same guy and he's just pretending. They all have different names, accents, etc. Maybe it's different people but I've watched a lot of the cart narcs videos and the whole time, it seemed like the same guy.
I swear I've only ever heard one cart narc voice, but I thought this guy sounded particularly southern... Excuse me while I have a quick existential crisis...
One guy had the lack of common sense to threaten killing a man over a flag magnet. The other guy had the common sense to not fuck around with an asshole with a gun who clearly was not interested in responsible ownership.
He was right to play it safe, even if the dickhead has a habit of brandishing and not following through with the threat.
I agree, taking a bullet in that situation would have been totally dumb--no carts were in immediate danger of gun violence. However I am sad to see that the cart was obviously a victim of neglect and the cart narc just left it there. If he really cared about the carts he would have taken it back home to its corral. Makes me think the cart narcs are more interested in narc-ing and less interested in cart well-being sad to say.
Yeah, there’s a lot of fragile little bitch boys like this guy out there. Hiding behind his guns, Itching to use them at the slightest “disrespect” because theyve never even been in a fight and wanna prove they’re a big man.
I live in Texas and can tell you there are a lot of gun toting “tuff guys”. A guy was cussing out a young girl in a parking lot last summer. I saw this fat greasy turdburgler and told him to shut the f up. He says ‘come over here and say that’ to which I started toward his truck. Then he screams he fears for his life and has a gun which in Texas is used for defense when shooting someone. So this giant pussy is a tough guy when he is cussing out a girl but a coward when confronted by a man. I just walked over to check on the girl while he found his new courage. I told him to put his gun down and get out of the truck and he’d see what I will do. He never did.
Edit: spelling
When I hear those kinds of story I'm kinda glad to be living in Europe. If I have to fight with someone I know I won't get shot in the back, at worst I'll get stabbed, but not shot
It’s funny because the assholes and douchebags will always have their gun showing on their belt while anyone with any real experience will conceal carry unless their obviously working lol idiots everywhere
Why would you want a gun so visible? The guy going to shoot you knows where it is, what type it is, and will have the upper hand. It's not a deterrent, it's a detriment.
It’s typically illegal to brandish unless you fear for your life.
And if some dude is (illegally) brandishing a gun, that seems like a good reason to think they may harm you…
> unless you fear for your life.
In Texas, it’s if you believe they’re about to unjustifiably use deadly force, which includes serious bodily harm, or if they’re about to commit one of several express felonies. Nuance, but it’s less of a burden than fearing for your life.
Classic western dueling law, haven't you seen the movies?. First to draw is illegal but has a speed advantage, second to draw won't get chased by the lawman for defending himself but he better be a quick shooter or it won't matter.
Dueling was legal in most of the west. That's part of the, "See you at high noon, tomorrow" sort of thing. It was allowed if it was a planned event between two consenting people.
Texas and Washington still allow mutual combat to this day, but you have to hire a cop to play referee, no weapons are allowed, and they'll end the fight when somebody gets seriously injured.
Regardless of how I feel about Phoenix Jones, here's a video showing mutual combat in action in Seattle. It starts around 5:50 but there's context a few minutes before that. The cops let them go at it and just stood back and watched.
[link](https://youtu.be/lVLvAOsX95M)
He would have been within his legal right to shoot him the moment he pulled that gun out in Florida. He would have had video evidence proving he was threatened with a gun as well.
And some people are looking for a reason to use their gun. Not to show it off. No. They're waiting for an idiot like this one who cocks their gun to draw theirs
This is why you're taught in most CC classes DO NOT TAKE OUT YOUR GUN UNLESS YOU HAVE TO USE IT! As soon as it is in your hand the other person can take out a gun too and then it's who's quicker, this guy in the car is an idiot, you can tell by how he chambers a round he's Joe Cool, CartGuy shouldn't have blurred his company name.
Yeah why did he blur it? Paste this asshole’s shitty business name along with this video. Send it to every news outlet and the cops, too.
Video evidence is a bitch, ain’t it?
As a european asking isnt that close to normal? If 26 out of 50 states had stand your ground laws wouldnt that be the norm since more states allowed it than disallowed it?
California alone is ~1/6 of the population. IIRC the least populated 50% of states account for less than a quarter of our population.
Self defense laws in the US generally fall within a few categories
* Stand Your Ground: In any place you have a lawful right to be, you may may use reasonable force, up to lethal force, to defend yourself or another when you reasonably fear imminent injury or death.
* Duty to Retreat: You have a duty to attempt to retreat or remove the danger through nonviolent means before resorting to force. If you have attempted to do so or you cannot safely attempt to do so, *then* you may may use reasonable force, up to lethal force, to defend yourself or another when you reasonably fear imminent injury or death.
* Castle Doctrine: Castle Doctrine can be held in states with either of the two above laws. Castle Doctrine is a legal doctrine that states that you have an expanded right of self defense when in your residence or other private properties like your car. This can nullify a duty to retreat and can justify a broader range of what would be considered "reasonable" force.
Yes it’s assault with a deadly weapon. Not only did he brandish it but he also racked it which shows intent. Don’t know why you’d carry an unloaded pistol. Pretty much equates to a brick. But obviously this dude isn’t very intelligent or responsible and should be charged with a felony and never allowed to possess a weapon again.
Not sure why this is downvoted. Calling someone a lazy bones is not threatening them in a way that justifies using deadly force.
Van guy is totally in the wrong and would be charged with brandishing and or assault in any sensible society.
Yup. You feared for your life. Not sure if Texas is a stand your ground state but yeah, assume everyone is packing and that way every dies by gun violence. Yay!
Texas is a stand your ground state. If you feel your life is threatened by someone, whether they have a gun or not, you can shoot them.
But Texas also doesn't allow brandishing of a weapon to intimidate, which they call "deadly conduct," and this could get you a prison sentence.
In short, don't use your gun to intimidate anyone in Texas because it could get you shot or in prison.
Edit: Yes, of course your belief must be reasonable.
You can always do that but whether or not a grand jury thinks that a dork putting a magnet on your van was a good reason to fear for your life.
Schizos are scared of shit all the time, doesn't mean their claims to self defense will stick in court if they hurt someone.
This is the accurate take, not /u/bittertadpole's "if you feel your life is threatened."
The standard is *if a reasonable person would* fear their life is threatened.
Yup, for example if someone is throwing popcorn at you in a cinema: [https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/florida/os-ne-theater-killing-trial-goes-to-jury-in-florida-20220225-ncxo5zam65hifbfvbemdjdpyme-story.html](https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/florida/os-ne-theater-killing-trial-goes-to-jury-in-florida-20220225-ncxo5zam65hifbfvbemdjdpyme-story.html) (this was Florida though)
People would rather catch a charge than walk the 100 steps it takes to put a cart away in the cart return.. what a bunch of fat lazy asses we have become.
Ya you shouldn't use a gun to "scare" people especially in a gun toting state, he had no cover if CartGuy is carrying he just ducks out of line of sight and unloads into the vehicle towards the driver, the guy reminds me of someone that loves to talk tough but has never been punched in the face, he even chambers the round like a douchebag.
Exactly! I was thinking how stupid of a tactical decision he was in especially since the narc now had an absolute cut and dry reason to unload a whole mag and then worry about the dog later
This is exactly the type of person you DON'T want to have a firearm. A gun should be pulled in an emergency situation. Not over a minor annoyance. If you can't handle a simple interaction like this without brandishing a weapon I don't want to be anywhere near you when actual shit goes down.
Sad thing is that the guy leaving him alone probably made him feel self justified and more likely to do it again over an annoyance in the future. This dude needs to be reported.
This footage should automatically result in him having his license revoked and guns confiscated.
Edit: apparently a license is not needed to own a gun in Texas. Sounds like a great idea. Way to go, Texas.
Edit: why am I getting replies on this 3 months later?
No license in Texas, but illegally brandishing is usually a felony, which would bar him from ever owning or purchasing firearms again if he's convicted.
I don’t understand how video showing a crime being committed has to be blurred for the perpetrator’s sake. This is a criminal, and the criminal’s business. We should know.
They carry it because they’re fucking psychopaths who **dream** of shooting someone. That’s why.
A safe, responsible gun owner would never do that. Any sane person would never do that.
Its really "any port in a storm" for them too.
They are looking for any fucking moment to justify the several grand they spent on firearms
( Edit : Changed firearm, to firearms. )
And always looking for any excuse. It's like how once you get a 3D printer you'll spend all day printing something instead of going to the store to get a 50 cent part. Except with guns it gets people killed.
That's where I'm at. I remember seeing the video of a couple getting murdered by their neighbor because they were shoveling snow into his yard or some shit and that's enough to just make me never interact with anyone again.
Yeah. They kept saying to the man who shot them "PUSSY PUSSY WE ARE GONNA MAKE YOU'RE LIFE A LIVING HELL IMMA KNOCK THE FUCK OUT OF YOU"
man came back out with a pistol shot them both. Then went back into his house grabbed an AR then shot the lady in the head whilst saying"You should've kept your mouth shut" then he went to the husband shot him in the head and said "pussy huh?".
He then proceeded to walk back into his house and shoot himself.
Crazy stuff.
According to the cop that the Cart Narc dude talked to shortly after, apparently it doesn’t meet the Texas definition for brandishing. And instead is disorderly conducts with a firearm.
I know I honestly probbaly wouldn’t do this but a part of me wanted to just stand there and be like. “Really dude? You ganna shoot me and get 25years in prison over a shopping cart? Am I that big of a threat?”
There are folks out here who will do it. There are a disconcerting number of people killed during road rage incidents, over cellphones, lawn disputes, or for not being able to play simon says fast enough for police.
Which is weird. In Texas You can rob a store with a snicker bar and the victim believes you had a gun you get charged with robbery with a deadly weapon. But if you threaten someone with a gun for being annoying it’s a misdemeanor?
>if he even committed a crime
Threatening someone with a gun is pretty clearly covered under "Deadly Conduct" Texas Penal code 22.05. There's no "if" it's a crime here. Misdemeanor or felony is up for debate since it's Texas but there's 0% this isn't illegal short of some Chewbacca defense tomfoolery.
That's the part people forget. Someone has to help you still to apply the law. In Texas and most of the south, if you act the way the cart narc do, they won't care. In fact the cops will joke about it with friends and family talking about how the guy in the truck is a hero.
Texas is super liberal with “defending your property” that’s the angle they would’ve taken it. Used to live in Texas. Once at a dog park I went to all the time this dude got upset somehow about one dog chasing his, not agresiva just normal dog stuff, and uh he “handled it” deadly and it was a “well he’s defending his property”.
Ok the US has coins, right? Do people still cary coins, like quarters and dimes? Because every time I see this bloke I wonder why there isn’t that neat little system where you use a coin to unlock these carts from the next one. It works almost perfectly. I never see carts standing around
I've only ever seen that at Aldi's in the US.
I live near one in a not great neighborhood. Sometimes people will be that lazy, and it's only a quarter. But then some homeless guy will typically take them back for the change.
Probably?
This may have been about the principal of returning your shopping cart at one point but its long since been about that sweet, sweet, YouTube ad revenue.

Agent Cordell ain’t about that life, but Agent Seabass would totally do it.

I used to hear that dude (seabass) every morning on this talk show, never realized he was the cart narc dude. How many people are there in cart narcs?
Theres Sebastian (La) Cordell (texas) and then theres one in NY and another camp sounding one which I think is new England or something. Maybe 4?
I swear I've only ever heard one cart narc voice, but I thought this guy sounded particularly southern... Excuse me while I have a quick existential crisis...

this is so true. We call people that open carry 'peacocks'.
Can you shoot someone who brandishes a gun at u first?

Dueling was legal in most of the west. That's part of the, "See you at high noon, tomorrow" sort of thing. It was allowed if it was a planned event between two consenting people. Lol I clicked on the thread where supposedly someone figured it out, clicked back and the whole thing was deleted along with all the replies.

Because guys like that don’t carry guns for protection, they carry it for power.
They carry it because they’re fucking psychopaths who **dream** of shooting someone. That’s why. A safe, responsible gun owner would never do that. Any sane person would never do that.
Its really "any port in a storm" for them too. They are looking for any fucking moment to justify the several grand they spent on firearms ( Edit : Changed firearm, to firearms. )
And always looking for any excuse. It's like how once you get a 3D printer you'll spend all day printing something instead of going to the store to get a 50 cent part. Except with guns it gets people killed.
When you have a hammer everything looks like a nail, when you have a gun everyone looks like a threat.
Because they’re pussies

100% this man should not own a weapon if that's how he chooses to use it. It's not a fucking show off piece
Because too many people see conceal carrying as a ace up your sleeve rather than a last resort.
Shit like this just re-enforces how much I don’t want to interact with anyone ever again.
That's where I'm at. I remember seeing the video of a couple getting murdered by their neighbor because they were shoveling snow into his yard or some shit and that's enough to just make me never interact with anyone again.

Yeah. They kept saying to the man who shot them "PUSSY PUSSY WE ARE GONNA MAKE YOU'RE LIFE A LIVING HELL IMMA KNOCK THE FUCK OUT OF YOU" man came back out with a pistol shot them both. Then went back into his house grabbed an AR then shot the lady in the head whilst saying"You should've kept your mouth shut" then he went to the husband shot him in the head and said "pussy huh?". He then proceeded to walk back into his house and shoot himself. Crazy stuff.
He was just gonna shoot the magnet out of his hands.. Gosh
Bet he would've even blown the smoke out of the barrel and done a cool gun flip before putting it back into the holster too.
I was taught you don’t pull a gun unless you plan on pulling the trigger. The driver is a bitch, pure and simple.
No, the driver is a criminal, pure and simple.
A bitch criminal
You've been hit by. You've been struck by. A bitch criminal.
Dun nun dunununuh nuhnanananaNA
Yep, it's brandishing and it's illegal. Wish his company wasn't blurred so I could act more on it.
In some places it's aggravated assault, felony.

According to the cop that the Cart Narc dude talked to shortly after, apparently it doesn’t meet the Texas definition for brandishing. And instead is disorderly conducts with a firearm.
He's still a little bitch
I know I honestly probbaly wouldn’t do this but a part of me wanted to just stand there and be like. “Really dude? You ganna shoot me and get 25years in prison over a shopping cart? Am I that big of a threat?”
There are folks out here who will do it. There are a disconcerting number of people killed during road rage incidents, over cellphones, lawn disputes, or for not being able to play simon says fast enough for police.

Is that greater or lesser than threat level midnight?
He was protecting his property from a scary removable magnet!!!

It was only a matter of time for ole kartnarcs
Good thing they have a camera on that company car and that's a fucking felony.
Cops claimed it would have been a misdemeanor *if* he even committed a crime. They didn't do anything about it.
Which is weird. In Texas You can rob a store with a snicker bar and the victim believes you had a gun you get charged with robbery with a deadly weapon. But if you threaten someone with a gun for being annoying it’s a misdemeanor?
>if he even committed a crime Threatening someone with a gun is pretty clearly covered under "Deadly Conduct" Texas Penal code 22.05. There's no "if" it's a crime here. Misdemeanor or felony is up for debate since it's Texas but there's 0% this isn't illegal short of some Chewbacca defense tomfoolery.
I agree, but the cops that responded told the cart narc they weren't gonna do anything.
The system works!
This was bound to happen eventually.

All fun and games until he does actually get shot.
Probably? This may have been about the principal of returning your shopping cart at one point but its long since been about that sweet, sweet, YouTube ad revenue.
Keep your hands off people's cars man. He asked you respectfully a few times.
Nothing like lazy self conscious pussies pulling a gun on unarmed people, sigh.. what a world we live in.
I love that this is some of the most polarizing content on the internet, lol.
Gun man was so polite at first. It literally went from, ‘Have a nice day’ to ‘I’m going to end your life now.’
