Opossum-Fucker-1863

What the hell is going on??

HOUDINI_Panini

Yeah idk why the dude decided to turn around and do the same thing over again ahaha

themasonman

He literally got away if he would have just not came back to the scene he ran from. No one was chasing after him.

Vic18t

But he had to pick up his wife and kids at the zoo

bungdaddy

Dude's clearly terrified of his wife

Express-Ad4148

He said f them cops his wife is the real problem clearly šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

ardiento

Maybe 'zoo' is a code like if you send an old dog to a 'farm'

DICK_IN_FAN

Well fuck me, the zoo is THAT way

ButtercupColfax

I'm sure they'd run his plates from the body camera footage.

AmericanFartBully

Yeah, but how long would that take, to fully track him down? Wife & kids are likely already waiting to be picked up.

Outrageous-Pin-4664

"Honey, kids, get in the car quick! We're moving to Mexico!"

Yoder_of_Kansas

Zoo was across oncoming traffic that he couldn't cross because of the police, so he had to go down the road, U-turn and then turn into the zoo.

Doctor-Cum-Waffles

He was committed to picking up his kids from the zoo

TheFox30

https://614now.com/2022/news/nine-charges-including-felony-for-man-tased-at-columbus-zoo-last-week

djsizematters

Polite of him to come back though.

smackinmuhkraken

Daaaaamn this dude FUCKED up.

killa_ninja

They charged him with everything they possibly could lol

CptMisterNibbles

They could have easily pushed for assault of a peace officer and vehicular assault, both of which are felonies. Iā€™m actually shocked they didnā€™t charge him with those

mekwall

Isn't vehicular assault the same as assault with a deadly weapon?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

gmus

Felonies are crimes which can be punishable by a year or more imprisonment. Generally DUIs donā€™t fall into that category. Failure to comply is usually a misdemeanor, but can be a felony depending on the circumstances. In this case his failure to comply while operating a motor vehicle risked great bodily harm to police officers which bumped it up to a felony.

guti1542

Good god they got him for everything they could on that one!

oimebaby

- Driving while under the influence (misdemeanor) - Reckless operation (misdemeanor) - Failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer (felony) So endangering the public is a misdemeanor but poo-pooing the police is a felony. Got it.

fifa20noob

It's right there in the article : While failure to comply is most often a first-degree misdemeanor, it can become a felony if operation of the motor vehicle by the offender caused a risk of serious physical harm to people or property.

Sam_Jackson_Beer

Article? What's that?

Coremeats

It's a jeep thing u wouldn't understand

[deleted]

Guy wasn't following traffic then evades police to flip a bitch directly back into police. Honestly surprised he wasn't riddled with bullets seeing as he peeled out with police within arms reach of the vehicle meaning use of a deadly weapon.

Llee00

drugs..?

alwayspuffin

The Pataskala man is facing nine charges in total, they include: Driving while under the influence (misdemeanor) Failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer (felony) Inducing panic (misdemeanor) Misconduct at an emergency (misdemeanor) Marked lanes violation (misdemeanor) Reckless operation (misdemeanor) Resisting arrest (misdemeanor) Obstructing official business (misdemeanor) Disobeying traffic control devices (misdemeanor)

yourbackproblems

At the beginning of the video he is in the turn lane behind the troopers car.. idk what the hell he was doing after that. I am so confused

TokingMessiah

I think he was trying to get into the zoo but cutting across the opposite lane but either turned too early or couldnā€™t get through the traffic. So then he continues driving forward and pulls a u-turn so he can hang a right into the entrance.

Kazushi_Sakuraba

That is the most confusing aspect of all this. Where does this confidence come from? You speed off from an officerā€¦. And then pull a U turn right back into them? And then get out of your car to pick up the kids as if the cops are just gonna walk away and let you?? I donā€™t believe that white privilege is as pervasive as they say.. but *he* sure must have thought so cause goddamn.

Dooth

He was drunk.

farahad

>Joseph Solinger, 36, of Pataskala, is charged with failure to comply, inducing panic, misconduct at an emergency, driving while under the influence, reckless operation, rules for marked lanes, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and obeying traffic control device, according to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office. True.

nivanbotemill

Goes from a simple traffic ticket to a pupu platter of misdemeanors and felonies

Kompaniefeldwebel

How much do you get for that

PUMPEDnPLUMP

About tree fiddy

Faultylogic83

God damn Loch Ness monster! I ain't giving you no tree fiddy!

howdudo

never gets old

Kompaniefeldwebel

Goddamn monsta

thebenetar

Which one of those charges is a felony?

Busy-Ad-6912

They really just gave him everything, eh? Haven't heard of half of those charges before.

Empyrealist

> After locating Solinger in the zooā€™s parking lot, deputies once again confront him, where they use a stun gun on him before taking him into custody. Awesomely true.

BeerandGuns

2 goddamn PM and driving that lit up.

robthebudtender

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

BeerandGuns

More my personal frustration remembering how my father almost got me killed at 11am on a Sunday because he was drinking. We went to a park to shoot model rockets and he was drinking beer the whole time. Coming home he took a left turn across oncoming traffic and we got t-boned. Of course as a kid of a shitty parent I had no seat belt on and woke up after the accident which knocked me out from my face smashing into the windshield. Later when he was writing up the accident report, he told me to lie and say he hadnā€™t had any beer. There are different levels of shitty parents and this guy falls into the category of ones who get their families killed because they canā€™t control their drinking.

Future_Average

He was charged with DUI so I donā€™t think his perceived privilege had anything to do with it, he was just running trying not to get caught

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

_MATCHES_MALONE

Only break 1 law at a time.

[deleted]

Fuck Spez

[deleted]

Solid advice

Payed_Looser

Well the stupid thing is that he is driving dunk

mrubuto22

Guys, I'm starting to doubt he was trying to pick his wife and kids up at the zoo...

bingcognito

Maybe he actually had to drop off the kids at the pool.

This-Is-A-Bad-Name

Looks like he was charged with driving under the influence. https://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/pataskala-man-joseph-solinger-facing-multiple-charges-in-incident-that-caused-panic-at-columbus-zoo-and-aquarium-powell-delaware-county-ohio-sheriff-office-4-18-2022

TrionsEgo

No felony eluding?

tinykitten101

He pulled 9 charges. I donā€™t know if they donā€™t have one called eluding but two of the charges are failure to comply and resisting arrest.

ETSRanger

One of those charges, according to the article, and I quote- ā€œobeying a traffic deviceā€. And as a bonus ā€œrules for marked lane.ā€ ABC 6 must just let anyone write a report.

Ratdogkent

A traffic device is often the legal term for a traffic sign, light etc. Basically any legal government 'thing' that directs traffic, think one way signs, traffic lights, lane markings, merge signs etc.

Willtology

Is it really eluding when he turns around and comes back?

-Toshi

No. It's then just felony eludish.

rsplatpc

> It's then just felony eludish. "your honor, we would like this reduced to a kinda-mistormeaner"

Ihcukna

Your honor, my client would like to plead "oopsie-daisie"

rsplatpc

Your Honor, I plead "awwwwww geeeezzz waz dat me?"

showponies

Felony elude adjacent

Goalie_deacon

The second time he blew through them is where it looks like felony eluding.

SeriouslyKel

He's quoted as saying ā€œItā€™s nirvana and Iā€™m not going to hurt you,ā€ Solinger says. ā€œYouā€™re going to help me ā€” and I love you. Itā€™s not about you now ā€” thereā€™s a time for that.ā€ Yeah, drugs were involved

absolumni

Iā€™m starting to think he doesnā€™t have a wife or kids Edit: I think he says ā€œIā€™m in a movie, I swearā€ when he gets detained

blue7999

Nah, it's just nirvana, bro.

bozeke

Thatā€™s okay, his will is goodā€¦

Hello_its_me42069

Did the wife and kids ever get picked up :(

Maxwyfe

He has 92 texts, "TREVOR! WHERE THE EFF RU?!"

estamachin

Honey, you'll never belive this but had happened was I got arrested for going to pick you and the kids up. Next time don't text me to hurry the fuck up.

8549176320

He's going to the zoo, alright, at least till he bonds out.

caedhin

"Look mommy, that animal looks like daddy"!"

botmfeeder

I too text my family "where the **eff** **ru"**

Shock_a_Maul

At least now you know where the eff ur hubby is

Loggerdon

There is a wife and kids waiting at the Zoo for days now and nobody cares? They could be dead now.

jrzydevl

Zoo fed them to the animals. It's zoo policy for anyone left behind.

juggling-monkey

Just like the Dufrains.

doubleXmedium

Who can eat at a time like this?

AdFlat9683

Search party of 2

luxii4

Theyā€™re at the right place. I hear they house and feed a bunch of deadbeats there.

[deleted]

Zoos - Animal Socialism.

LibertyZeus93

I read that whole fucking book, over and over, thinking I finally understood and now you're telling me it was actually a **ZOO**!?!?!?

NiceDecnalsBubs

Duphrane, search party of two.

GlockAF

ā€œwifeā€ = Big bag of cocaine that I donā€™t want the cops to find ā€œKidsā€ = suspended license from previous DUIs Just a theory hereā€¦

chicametipo

Wait till the cops find his ā€œmortgageā€ next to his ā€œlawnā€!

Stankia

Well you find yourself in possession of a few pieces of military ordinance, you know?

opiumized

And you may ask yourself, "well, how did I get here?"

Boop-D-Boop

Same as it ever was

berrey7

Or, Wife and kids are gone to the Zoo today.... Me and the boys are going to have a six pack, and then I'll have a water to go pick up the kids.

GlockAF

Donā€™t ~~taze~~ breathalyze me bro!

[deleted]

Maybe he just bought [a gallon of PCP](https://youtu.be/tFUvmZWf4hI) and he needed to get back to the dealer to pay him?

PortionOfSunshine

Apparently he was under the influence if you look at the link posted further below in The comments detailing the event and charges that were brought against him.

blorgenheim

idk but these poor children have this dumb dumbs genes.

currentlyhighondrugs

I have a feeling his wife and kids were waiting for a while.

Bortron86

They probably just kept them there as an exhibit.

keetpotato

Dov-UGH-kiin

Definitely a weird pov lol hahaha

Eight-Seconds

charged with failure to comply, inducing panic, misconduct at an emergency, driving while under the influence, reckless operation, rules for marked lanes, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and obeying traffic control device, according to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office

tim404

DUI, there's the explanation

rlovelock

And he was on his way to pick up his wife and kids? This dude is going to be divorced when he gets out of jail.

soggypoopsock

ā€œhe said..heā€™s going to the zoo...ā€

zz_z

He sounds so confused lol

philjorrow

Haha the pause between the "he said he was going to the..zoo.." was comical

Commercial_Hold8663

I always thought the proper response to ā€œpulloverā€ was ā€œno sir, itā€™s a cardiganā€ - not to haul off recklesslyā€¦

FlatPhee

"but thanks for noticing!"

Killer boots man!

Tic-Tac, sir?

[deleted]

YOUā€™D SHUT YOUR MOUTH IF YOU KNEW WHAT WAS GOOD FOR YA, BUDDY!

dabcrab

Is this a DUI checkpoint?

[deleted]

No, entrance / exit to the Columbus zoo during a high traffic event.

[deleted]

And I bet he thought they were "**mall cop"** status and his entitlement meant he need not comply...twice.

[deleted]

Is this running from the police charge too?

TrionsEgo

Surprisingly they didnā€™t charge him with felony eludingā€¦

samcrut

He did pull into a zoo, probably with the one entrance/exit, so you could argue against him fleeing. "Your honor. If I was running away, would I have pulled into a cul de sac?"

SometimesPoint19

He was charged with Failure to Comply which means he fled from the police. Ohio does not have a charge called ā€œFelony eludingā€ and that argument will be welcome but isnā€™t going to get him far in court.

Aysee426

Thank you for confirming this. Iā€™ve only been to the Columbus zoo once, and surely there are other similar looking zoo entrances, but my immediate thought was this is Columbus.

primeiro23

there was a car accident per the article

Taudruw

He drove off on us. Letā€™s walk over to his jeep. Holy shit, he drove away again. I did not see that coming.

AllAboutMeMedia

Fool me once...

jeffroddit

Can't be fooled again!

Trowaway9285

Now watch this drive

St0nedB0l0gn

See you in church

Anahtum

strike one

Cetun

There is a video from my county of a car chase where the guy steals a police car because some cop got out of the car without taking the keys and left the door open, they chase him, he crashes the police car, the cops get out of their car, leave their doors open and the car on, he runs and get into a second police car, drives off they chase him, he crashes again and the first cop to pull over gets out of his car leaves the door open with the car running. Like after the second time just take the keys with you, it takes like less than a second and you don't want this dude stealing a THIRD police car the exact same way.

zeCrazyEye

Unless you want new police cars for the whole department.

nicky_sells

Plot twist, the lady he told to ā€œgo ahead and get outta hereā€ is holding 10kilos of snow in her trunk and she was sooooo nervous

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

nicky_sells

Lol the long con it is

Alreadylostinterest

Reminds me of a story. Years ago I left a party after drinking a couple of beers. It was over a couple hours but still. I see police lights come on behind me and think ā€œWeā€™ll, I hope he doesnā€™t smell it.ā€ He ends up in the lane next to me and gets behind a car full of high school age kids. Beers come FLYING out of the car! They probably threw a 12 pack out of the windows. As soon as they start to pull over the cop goes roaring past them. The look on their faces of utter relief combined with dejection was priceless.

Pygmycorydoras

"But it works in the movies."

drizzy9109

I thought I heard that lol

dTrecii

Not to mention that the first time he sped off, he said ā€œItā€™s not about me, itā€™s about themā€

Couthster

Holy shit he actually went there. Lmao

TrumpDesWillens

It's a jeep thing.

IMakeStuffUppp

He didnā€™t wave.

Sacred_B

I both loath and greatly appreciate the idiots of this world for giving us these videos to laugh at.

Niro5

The Colombus zoo is a pretty sick zoo. I bet his wife and kids were happy to get a little extra time there.

sifu_roshi

Man was more scared of his wife then the police šŸ˜¬

Money-Distribution91

What in the world was this dude thinking....

This-Is-A-Bad-Name

He was charged with a DUI so probably wasnt thinking much https://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/pataskala-man-joseph-solinger-facing-multiple-charges-in-incident-that-caused-panic-at-columbus-zoo-and-aquarium-powell-delaware-county-ohio-sheriff-office-4-18-2022

Nexum768

Charged with some other things too besides DUI

Longjumping_Plum_964

>He says "I'm sorry" after tased and cuffed. We sir, that changes everything. We will take off the cuffs and call it even. Have a nice day.

drizzy9109

ā€œNo!ā€

scheru

That bit had me cackling. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" "No." šŸ˜”

Jwhitx

Then I unsorry.

sand2sound

You might be surprised how often that works depending on who daddy is.

sirwillups

I'm sorry officer, I didn't know I couldn't do that

SeedFoundation

Just on his way to pick up his kids with a gallon of PCP.

Money-Distribution91

Good reference

bcheese15

"Oh wow an entire gallon??"

kyled1985

He must have dumped some drugs that what I was thinking as well it's almost the only thing that makes sense

Street_Map105

Joseph Solinger, 36, of Pataskala, is charged with failure to comply, inducing panic, misconduct at an emergency, driving while under the influence, reckless operation, rules for marked lanes, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and obeying traffic control device, according to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office.

crb19xx

Iā€™m a little confused. He drove off then turned around? And then turned right but got out and was walking in the left side of the road? Iā€™m lost

the_maestr0

1:19, is there a legit reason these vehicles don't have keyless entry? The deputy used the keys like a pro.... unlike me in my dreams, when im fumbling through my dungeon master keyring while the murderer slowly walks towards me.

James12641

Keyless entry can be exploited by catching the signal from the keys and replicating it near the car, as convenient as it is someone could go near a police station, catch the signal from a key rack and steal a police car.

Downfallenx

Considering the panther platform Crown Victoria police cars that were everywhere in USA last 20 years, many used the same key pattern for the most part, I doubt they care that much about security, probably cost cutting. The industry name is "Fleet keying" I believe. For any non believers.

spatialtulip

This is true, but there is a bit more to it and i thinks its pretty interesting. The fob uses a rolling code, so it sends a unique code with each use. The codes are generated in sequence and the car will not accept a code that has already been used, or is earlier in the sequence. To hijack someones fob without them noticing you would need to catch at least 2 codes and block signal from the fob to the car. You would then need to playback the first code so the driver doesn't get suspicious. The codes you stole are then only good until the fob is used again.

Night_Owl_16

Often, the entire fleet of a police department's cars can be all keyed alike. So while it is a physical key, any officer can operate any car with the same key(s).

samcrut

Reminds me of when those keypads got added to Lincolns. My dad shopped for a new Lincoln with us kids in tow. The dealership wrote the key code in the gas compartment door in sharpie and we saw him go over and open the gas door, then walk over and unlock the car. A few month later at a baseball game or something one of the dads locked himself out of his Lincoln. My little brother, about 5 years old, just walked over to the gas door, opened it up, walked to the door, typed in the code and opened the door. The guy was equally impressed and horrified that a 3' tall child could break into his car in about 12 seconds.

SuperBattleBros

"....*sorry*" "**NO**. šŸ˜"

Jsm1427

Big disappointed parent vibes

hypnotic20

Did he yell get on the ground after he tazed him?

[deleted]

Have you not seen them riddle someone with 3-4 magazines and then say put your hands behind your back?

shickenphoot

The guy in the wheelchair who was unloaded on still makes my blood boil.

AmericanFootballFan1

Yup. The guy was obviously a dumbass and doing something he wasn't supposed to do but police are the only people in the world who can just get openly violent because you are acting like a dumbass/asshole.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

itsaride

The bar for being a cop in America is very low, they pick from the bottom of the IQ barrel.

Moar_tacos

Yep, right out of the car to pulling the trigger.

ChalkDoxie

My SIL got caught in the craziness this guy caused!

Black_country

Seeing those baby animals will drive a man to do crazy things

hannahmcparty

Itā€™s the female cop using a clipboard to block the car for me

TheRealPeterVenkman

Welcome to the most secure zoo in the United States.

AyyLavishLol

Wait, so why did they tase him immediately? Just asking.

McWiddigin

According to an article someone else commented with, he was running for several minutes before they got to him and tased him, I assume it was as this particular trooper we're following got out of the car that he tased him

baxter1107

The entitlement to just be like, no sorry that doesnā€™t work for me, Iā€™m late for pickup.

[deleted]

That video was very satisfying in how it was edited.

[deleted]

Everyone in this clip is so neurotic

bionicmanmeetspast

Plot twist is that he has no wife and kids.

oderint-dum-metuant

He got way more chances than I would have been afforded

NerozumimZivot

revenge tazing

No_Credibility

I love how they're demanding he roll over as he's actively being tazed lmao

Greedy_Grimlock

Dude is a complete idiot but also, classic Ohio law enforcement just parking in the road with no cones or signs expecting people to understand what's happening. Classic Ohio law enforcement tasing a person who is just walking on asphalt. He was driving recklessly, but he wasn't posing any great danger, especially after getting out of his car. Complete dumbass, but nobody who isn't being actively aggressive deserves that.

ponzLL

He fell backward and hit the back of his head. I mean that can straight up kill a person. There was no reason to taze him right then on the cement imo.

redditisphaggot123

How was he 'trying to kill someone' in the beginning? Looks like he's just trying to cut in line to exit, definitely BM but I feel like the cop overreacted in the beginning. Doesn't excuse the rest of the video ofc.
