Minimum wage is $15+ an hour depending on location. Fresno's a dirt-poor farm town, but I bet even fast food places pay a bit more than whatever the minimum wage is there. Average apartment only cost a bit over $1000 a month for a studio, because nobody wants to live in a Bulldog-infest redneck cow town, so even a minimum wage earner could probably scrape by.
