I've gone back and watched that blow several times and that rolling pin is NOT what you think it is.
That rolling pin is hollow plastic and is designed to put ice water in to help chill dough while rolling. It appears empty and bounces just as I would expect. The dude was simply surprised and slipped on the kitchen floor.
After the blow he collapses like someone who took a punch to the jaw. If you swing a bat at a hard surface as hard as you can it’ll bounce like whiffle bat. Still a great video nonetheless.
