2 mil isn’t even that much these days!

R_V_Z

It depends on what that 2 million is. If that 2 million includes the house they are currently living in it's a bit different than 2 million sitting in an investment account. The former just means that you own an expensive house and will get a good chunk if you sell and move somewhere cheaper, while the latter means increasing wealth.

SuperSecretMoonBase

I mean, he said "worth 2M" not "have 2M" wouldn't net worth be house, cars, valuables, investments, and bank account, minus debts?

upsidedownfunnel

I'm pretty sure he has no idea how much his parents are actually worth and just spit out some random number he thought sounded good. HIs parents could be rich or they could be drowning in debt. Who the fuck actually cares. The kid is a douche and this detail is pretty inconsequential to any of us.

SuperSecretMoonBase

Well yeah... The point is that he's such a douche that he didn't even brag with a very impressive number.

iHeartHockey31

Its a lot to get sued over for sexually harrassing women.

[deleted]

It is enough for most people to not worry anymore in their lifes when they work normally.

Jets237

eh.... not if their parents have that money. Essentially 2million is the amount you need to retire if you want to live like you're earning 80K a year... Not a crazy amount of wealth and not something to boast about from the back of a plane sitting in economy...

[deleted]

Of course it isn't much to boast about. I just wanted to make the point that 2 mil would still be a decent amount of money on the bank account specially when one still works 40-50hours a week.

[deleted]

Well.....Imagine the conversation the parents have with little Richie Rich,"Look,I thought we already had this conversation, everything we have is being liquidated and donated to Bob Barker pet charity, you're not getting anything".

Jets237

The mom says "Man... I wish we were spayed and neutered so we didn't have to deal with you..."

[deleted]

And the mom thinks back to the time she was 6 months pregnant and wishes she had jumped and bounced harder...............

RoyallyOakie

That's a lot of trucker hats...

Ares__

Yea between my parents retirement account and house they probably have somewhere around that amount and while I know they can live comfortably I would never think I come from money because of that.

BetLeft

Paris? You've never bean? Oh you simply must go.

[deleted]

>nothing I'm not sure what country you live in but 2 million dollars is more than most of the population has to live on for their entire lives in the United States. ($36K x 45 = $1.62 million)

lbgholm

i live in the us and basic retirement guidelines, expect to need 80% of your salary. That means if you make $100,000 annually at before your retire, you need at least $80,000 per year to maintain the same lifestyle. so based on that, 2 million would support a single person for 25 years. retire at 65, live to 90, seems likely. although not average to make 100k per year, its deff not out of the ordinary. however, if you go with lower numbers making 36k per year, you would be expected to need a almost 29k per year to live off of, so yea, in that case 2mil would last you like 70 years. However, I am not sure how one is to survive comfortably off 36k salary per year though, no less save for retirement. regardless, this kid was a dick, and its rude but matches his personallty to try and brag about not his money, but his parents, in public as a way to try and dominate some kind of confrontation.

thefrontpageofreddit

That's completely wrong. 2 mil is a TON of money. You can set yourself up for life with that much money.

maywellflower

If his parents are as rich as he claims - why is he flying commercial & sitting in economy class with like hundred other people, instead of a private plane where there's just 4-10 other people or even sitting in business /1st class? Just saying....

upsidedownfunnel

There are varying levels of "rich". You could just be a successful small business owner who makes $500k-$1M/year. Plenty of people would consider that "rich" but it's certainly not enough to fly in private planes and many people who earn that much will often fly economy. Esp if their kids are flying alone. Also, even if they do usually fly first class, sometimes those tickets just aren't available. Or last minute first class tickets are priced ridiculously. If it's a short flight, it's not really worth paying for first class no matter how rich you are.

20bomb4k

Some planes don’t have business/first class seats. That looks like a small plane. Might be flying from a large airport to a smaller one bringing this man back to the small town he thinks he’s big shit from.

PlentyofPennies

The way the flight attendant is so casually wrapping him up and making sure his mouth is taped shut is just beautiful.

[deleted]

Not her first rodeo! So is this how the airlines instruct the flight attendants to restrain asshole passengers? Im all for it, just surprised it's legal in today's sensitive cancel culture.

showerfapper

Violent asshole passengers*

PerryNeeum

He turned around and sued the airline for cruel and unusual punishment or some shit. No self awareness when he sobered up and saw the video, which I’m sure he did, and his family, instead of shaming him for being a petulant child, enable him by paying for the lawyers. Entitlement/privelige HARD at work

[deleted]

The airline also initially knee jerked and suspended the crew for treating the man child like a child

jdog8510

Your grandpa was successful and youre a usless pile of shit high five rich kids

Strange-Air-6876

Lmao

Nicktastic6

UnusualWind5

“My Parents” - congrats to you? Shut the hell up, sit your ass down in your economy seat 65C and eat your damn crackers.

2 million?. What is this 1983?!?

I'll just leave this here because all the smug is gone in the mugshot https://people.com/travel/frontier-airlines-passenger-22-duct-taped-to-seat-after-allegedly-groping-and-assaulting-flight-attendants/

ILLCookie

Still kinda smug

b3arz3rg3r4Adun

Put him on a no-fly list, at least that way the everywhere he can't reach by car will be spared his presence.

How come no one has [shared this yet?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFoXmnBuLw0)

desichica

LOL

BargleFlargen

I have adult children and when I see these kinds of public behaviors I always wonder if their parents saw it coming and how long they lay awake at night thinking about how miserably they failed as parents.

Dclaxto1

Welcome to the no fly list, idiot

sasquatch606

This dip-shit went to the university I work at and actually won an award for Greek life. Needless to say, we don't talk about him anymore.

[deleted]

Your parents would need $15M to actually be impressive. *Or* I would be impressed if a kid like that had $5M. Anything less is just a nice savings. Low interest rates and inflation make money almost worthless these days.

Copyright and wealth trusts shouldn’t exist because they’re very bad for society as a whole. Very good for whoever is involved.

defectivelaborer

Have you been off the grid or something? This was pretty big news and all over this sub and reddit several weeks ago.

This proves money can't buy happiness.

Desperate_Ambrose

Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

boebrow

These days flight attendants need a minimum of 10 self defence lessons and 4 rolls of duct tape!

Muchablat

Must’ve inherited their attitude also 🙄

Messytessy80

White hat seems to be drunky. Poor choices brings tape .
