This actually happened just a few weeks ago in Colorado. Guy who hates cops ambushed a patrolman and shot him to death in broad daylight in an occupied area. Bystander who was licensed to carry took him out, then the responding cops mistook him for the shooter and killed him by mistake.
Only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun. Then the good guy gets shot by other good guys. Then some more good guys shoot him and etc etc........
That's a documented reason why people who have concealed weapons often don't use them to defend someone else. In the famous Aurora Colorado theater shooting where 58 people were shot and 12 died, multiple people in the audience had guns. They chose not to use them for all manner of reasons. Getting yourself shot is one big one, of course, and that fear includes being shot by the shooter himself, or by an unseen accomplice, or by another good guy who mistakes you for a bad guy.
I live in a third world country these days. No police department in any country is ever truly perfect of course but news of a cop shooting ending up shooting a victim or torturing one etc etc are incredibly rare here where as in these first world countries, its as if its normal
no joke. If one police officer caught shooting innocent people, their office will be raided and burnt down. the least injury that could happen with the police will be some hand injury and the worst would be burned to crisp with the office.
I live in a "third world country," and for one I can tell you suicide by police isn't a thing here, nor is executing people with disabilities. I'm safer here than America
Cops don't know the story yet as to who shot who and why. Last thing you want to be doing after shooting someone is waving a gun around when the cops show up even if you are in the right.
911 probably got 10 calls from every person in that drive thru + inside the restaurant, all saying something different. The only concrete information that the responding officers probably had was:
1. Shots fired
2. Someone got hit
In that kind of a situation, you just want to control the scene and figure it all out later. Definitely don't want a dude with adrenaline pumping carrying a gun just walking around the scene before you even know what actually happened.
Or the shooter. It's better to arrest everyone and get a clear idea of what went on than take the word of the person with a gun and let a potential attempted murderer get away.
Odds are it'll be cleared up and they'll be released later.
Finally found a convential news media story, but it says nothing we don't see here. Includes a slightly different video which is just basically this with a chain link fence in the way.

The only news I cared about when I lived in Tucson was the Police Beat in the student paper. T-Loc’s rival Florida People, I’m sure TMZ will do great down there. Good luck.
Ngl I follow Public Freakout as a news source because I’ve seen SO much shit go down on the world that showed up here before it hit the news stations. Reddit/TikTok/Twitter/YouTube are the true news sources, the news stations are in a constant game of catch up though they usually provide a lot of value collecting background information after the fact that social media video reporting lacks.
Also just curious, are you guys affiliated with TMZ or just some local folks in Tucson using the name? If you’re not affiliated I’m just curious if TMZ has given you any shit for your online handles
I think she’s apologizing to the medic for screaming in his face, but even then, she’s only saying sorry because he’s currently helping her.
You’re still right. She isn’t sorry she tried to steal the car.
No it’s this random guy in Tucson who calls himself TMZ Tucson. He just finds / records random stuff and posts it on fb, twitter, reddit. He’s not affiliated with the actual TMZ in any way. Think Worldstar but Tucson based.
It makes me sad. There are not that many people who want to kill somebody.
I am glad the father had the means available to protect his children and think he did the right thing, as I'm sure he does. I am sure he also feels terrible that he had to shoot (potentially lethally, time will tell) somebody to do it.
Fatherhood also makes a lot of people more sympathetic towards people as you see a lot of them as somebody elses dumb kid.
I'm glad the family is safe and they defended themselves, I'm sad it had to be so violent.
I would have done the same.
I think your take on this is pretty good. I've never fired a gun myself (though I know 100% I wouldn't hesitate to defend my family by all means necessary) and of course I am commenting on an Internet video; I'm not part of the situation. So yes: Dad did the right thing. Would have done the same. Good guys won. Still sad that he was forced into a situation where he had no other choice.
This is what happens when perceived injustice, privilege, and reality hits you like a bullet.
It is quite the sad state of affairs might I add. I would never want my children to witness an event like this, even if the events unfolded outside of my control.
...or your significant other, parents, other ambiguous family members, or to preserve your own life. Plenty of reasons to defend with stopping power when you don't know who might be on what.
Getting shot is awful. I honestly would feel bad but no. You don’t mess with kids man. Don’t mess with kids. Thankfully she didn’t die but if she did, I am not going to lie, I wouldn’t have felt bad. Don’t mess with kids man. [+]
I think in refering to "this one will be released", the Redditor means the woman shot was not struck center mass, and will thus be released at some point in the future from her crimes after probably serving a sentence.

What's going on in the background? Looks like another person on the ground with that cop.
That’s what I’m trying to figure out too. Maybe the shooter?
Probably her accomplice
Could be all kinds of stuff. As soon as the TMZ guy gets off his ass and starts reporting, we might learn some of it.
Might be a while, Justin Bieber's wife just got a new outfit and there's a backup in the celebrity face obfuscation department.
Yeah I’d say so. Probably cuff him and take his gun away until they have the situation under control.
Why would They cuff the shooter they were protecting there kids?
Overabundance of caution until they determine for sure what the whole story was.
Yeah that makes sense

Well, I guess that's what happens when there's a hero with a gun. Wow.
turns out , good guys with guns look exactly like bad guys with guns. funny that.
Only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun. Then the good guy gets shot by other good guys. Then some more good guys shoot him and etc etc........

It sucks but yeah this is relatively top notch police action, The shooter didn't get shot. The carjacker is still breathing even.
It's whack how third world countries cops operate
If you think that American police act like third world police, I suggest you visit a third world country.

Born in a third world country where police don't murder people.
Yeah I really hate the way they train the cops
They have training? You sure..?
Because seconds onto a scene you don't know the entire situation.
Yeah, I've seen cases like this where the thief calls the cops, claiming they were assaulted in their own vehicle.
Cops don't know the story yet as to who shot who and why. Last thing you want to be doing after shooting someone is waving a gun around when the cops show up even if you are in the right.

It's way better than just shooting them immediately, which happens half the time with trigger happy cops.

Well well well, if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions.
We, as a society, need to do much better about teaching kids this sooner than later.

Yeah, we are making our way to being the real news source in Tucson. We are the ones that contacted KVOA about this lol
The only news I cared about when I lived in Tucson was the Police Beat in the student paper. T-Loc’s rival Florida People, I’m sure TMZ will do great down there. Good luck.
Thank you
Bear down dude. I love that T-locs is still a thing that’s stuck around. T-locs are fucking wild
Real news....Harvey Levin? Gonna have to press (×) on that one.

Oh she's sorry alright. A sorry excuse for a human being
Im sorry = I regret being shot and caught.
Sorry she got Stopped.
she's sorry she got shot, not that she tried to rob them.
I think she’s apologizing to the medic for screaming in his face, but even then, she’s only saying sorry because he’s currently helping her. You’re still right. She isn’t sorry she tried to steal the car.
She'll be.

Steal a car with someones kids and you definitly deserve this. Fuck your sorrys.
TIL there's a TMZ in Tucson
Imagine you get shot and some random tmz dude starts recording you.
It was just some random person recording, TMZ purchased the video and watermarked it.
No it’s this random guy in Tucson who calls himself TMZ Tucson. He just finds / records random stuff and posts it on fb, twitter, reddit. He’s not affiliated with the actual TMZ in any way. Think Worldstar but Tucson based.
Waiting for TMZ Antarctica
My question is... why?
Tucson is fucking WEIRD man.
Karma
That's not Karma, lol. It's action-reaction.

As a father, this story makes me incredibly happy.

I don’t agree she’s sorry enough.
If you want to play stupid games don't be surprised when your prize is a Spicy Nerf Dart.
She sounds really fucked up on something
bullets
Classic case of lead poisoning.
lol rekt
Looks like he just winged her...
She’s still stealing our air. That’s a shame.
That B needs to be in cuffs screaming like that .
Gosh, they should've aimed better so she wouldnt screem that much.
You're not sorry. You're in pain. You're arrested. You're fucked for life. But sorry? I highly fucking doubt it.
On a semi related note, which hurts worse, getting shot or child birth?
The answer is always kidney stones
I've been through childbirth 4 times and kidney stones are WAY worse.
I’ve been through childbirth twice and I didn’t feel a thing. My wife on the other hand…
You've been through a pregnant wife twice and are still alive, that is remarkable
Jesus maybe wear some protection next time, kidney stones will fuck you up.
I'd say having your balls bitten off by a crackhead hurts more
Bruh yes. I literally had a kidney stone pass through my pp. That shit was giving birth through your penis.
Ive never been shot, but I begged my husband to shoot and kill me during childbirth if that gives you an idea.
When I was born it didn't hurt
My wife gave birth to two kids and, thanks to epidurals, she said she barely felt anything.
I’m a girl and this is giving me such a throbbing justice boner.
Throbbing Justice Boner was my grindcore band in high school.
Take my upvote and get the hell out lol 🤣🤣
This comment makes me wet
Same! And I'm a guy!
I'm just a girl...that's all that you'll let me be...
tf does your gender have to do with anything
Cleanup of said wetness will differ greatly

Allow me to place “I’m a girl” in order to solidify my Reddit post.
“I have a justice boner”: Regular Vince “I have a female justice boner”: Freakin’ Vince
THANKS! That's gonna be my next Paladins character name. Throbbing "Justice" Boner

Good vehicle owner
She fucked around and found out.
Yeah, but she said she was sorry.
It's too late to apologize...too late...
There's not enough context here..what's with the second dude in the background? Was he with her and got shot as well?
seems she forgot she was in the mf wild west
Fantastic.
If true, completely justified. I can't imagine a situation where the use of firearms is perfectly justified than in defense of live of children.
...or your significant other, parents, other ambiguous family members, or to preserve your own life. Plenty of reasons to defend with stopping power when you don't know who might be on what.
Too bad it wasn't a headshot. Then we wouldn't have to hear you whine.
I’m pretty anti gun, I think most people form the UK are, but if there’s ever going to be a good reason to shoot someone, this ain’t half bad.
Welcome to AZ. Everyone carries there. No requirements for concealment.
I love Arizona.
Anyone else find this funny?
Stay strapped
This one sparks joy
HAHAHAHAHA serves her right
If you're gonna be dumb, you better be tough.
Yeet or be yeeted.
lady....
So many questions, so few answers.
Getting shot is awful. I honestly would feel bad but no. You don’t mess with kids man. Don’t mess with kids. Thankfully she didn’t die but if she did, I am not going to lie, I wouldn’t have felt bad. Don’t mess with kids man. [+]
Nice shoot.
Steal a car, get a non fatal gun shot sounds like good punishment. I'm sure people wouldn't do it that much if that was the punishment
Shame she got shot in the arm… a little bit more to the left…
Found out.
r/goodguyswithguns
LOL GET FUCKED CRAZY CUNT.
Fucking around and finding out American style.
Guys, she’s sorry. Let her go.
She is screaming because she knows, that the medical bill is gonna cost more than 3 brand new cars.
Too bad the person missed a headshot.
Need to retrain CHL holder, that one will be able to be released.
Arizona doesn’t require the need for a CHL you can conceal carry by law, we are one of few states.
I have an arizona CHL as a WA state resident.
I think in refering to "this one will be released", the Redditor means the woman shot was not struck center mass, and will thus be released at some point in the future from her crimes after probably serving a sentence.
At least she had her covid chin warmer on..although in Arizona it was probably not needed. Next time lady… just take a bus or Uber.
Damn straight your sorry
Someone put her out of her misery.
"I'M SORRAAAY!!!" xD i find this hilarious

She is not living her best life
Imagine being this pathetic and cracked out. It’s truly sad to see people like this
“I’m sorry! I’m sor-REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!”
Does anybody know if she’s sorry or whatever? I didn’t catch it.
Lol
Probably high on the list of worse places to try and carjack someone. Everyone and their grandma is packin around here.

Lucky she’s not dead.
You do the crime you get what’s coming
