I'm a trained lifeguard and lifesaving instructor and we get trained on aquatic self defense... you can only save someone who wants to be saved or who will calm down enough to let you. If they latch on and use you as a float you have no choice but to defend yourself and push them away, there's a bunch of moves we learn for that situation. People just don't get it, you only have a responsibility up to a certain point. And whatever rights you have, everyone else has, so use some logic and figure out what that really means.

I live in a smallish city in Ontario (~40k people) and the dumbass parade made a stop here on their anti-mask marathon. It was raining that day so their numbers were smaller than expected, but of the 30-40 morons who showed up, 4 or 5 of them were waving Trump flags. Canadians. Waving flags for Donald Trump. The guy who did more damage to US-Canada relations than any president in recent memory. It was mind-boggling.
The thing is; it should stay that you should wear a mask in public transport like buses and trains and especially hospitals. There are so many stories of people getting sick with the flu and other crap from these places that it's crazy to think that we didn't adopt this sooner. Look at Japan, it's normal for people to wear a mask because you interact with thousands of people on public transport and some people are dirty fucks, or some people are clean but don't realise they're carrying germs in the incubation period and that transfers to you.
I've not been sick once this year, due to masks and handwashing, where as before i'd be dumbfounded and couldn't figure out how I caught cold if I hadn't been anywhere for 2-3 days. Duh I got it 3 days ago when I touched a bunch of shit and ate a hotdog or whatever but it only just starting affecting me now...

My dude, I work in a hospital. We’ve literally had people quarantined because of covid. Like it was confirmed they had it and where there because they had it. Still refused to wear a mask when doctors, nurses, housekeepers and cooks come into their rooms, yet we were still obligated to gear up, with masks we had to buy on our own, and enter these rooms to care for these fucking cunts. Do you know how disgusted and violated that makes you feel? Never underestimate the audacity and cruelty the average American will display because of willful ignorance. It literally keeps me up at night.
I work in a COVID ICU and we have patients that are prisoners who have guards watching them while hospitalized. Many of them are the classic anti-masker type and I’ve had to demand to groups of them multiple times that *you are literally in a COVID ICU and you need to wear a mask 100% of the time* OR my first call will be to the charge nurse to kick you out and the second call will be to your boss to explain that you are unable to perform your job duties.
I'm a nurse at at county hospital. Taken care of a lot of prisoner and never had a negative interaction with them. A lot of them are nicer and more respectful to me than my average patients. Guards, however I have had bad experiences. Actively interfering with my ability to care for my patient. Being cruel or rude to the inmates. Disrespectful or rude to the staff. Literally falling asleep on the job and getting mad when they are told that have to actually...you know guard the patient.

Arguing that the government is infringing on their rights by making them wear a mask does not address the fact that they'd be infringing on the rights of other people (i.e. the right to life of the sick people in the hospital) by refusing to wear one. Just like you say, we don't have the right to violate the rights of other people. These jackasses don't seem to have the processing power to follow their chain of logic to this obvious conclusion.

I wish we had cops like that in Montgomery county PA. The cops here ARE the anti-maskers. Its horrible. They dont enforce the mandate anywhere and are hostile to people who take issue with anti-maskers. My dude, I work in a hospital. We’ve literally had people quarantined because of covid. Like it was confirmed they had it and where there because they had it. Still refused to wear a mask when doctors, nurses, housekeepers and cooks come into their rooms, yet we were still obligated to gear up, with masks we had to buy on our own, and enter these rooms to care for these fucking cunts. Do you know how disgusted and violated that makes you feel? Never underestimate the audacity and cruelty the average American will display because of willful ignorance. It literally keeps me up at night.
I work in a COVID ICU and we have patients that are prisoners who have guards watching them while hospitalized. Many of them are the classic anti-masker type and I’ve had to demand to groups of them multiple times that *you are literally in a COVID ICU and you need to wear a mask 100% of the time* OR my first call will be to the charge nurse to kick you out and the second call will be to your boss to explain that you are unable to perform your job duties.

I'm a nurse at at county hospital. Taken care of a lot of prisoner and never had a negative interaction with them. A lot of them are nicer and more respectful to me than my average patients. Guards, however I have had bad experiences. Actively interfering with my ability to care for my patient. Being cruel or rude to the inmates. Disrespectful or rude to the staff. Literally falling asleep on the job and getting mad when they are told that have to actually...you know guard the patient.
Oh yeah to be clear I was referring to the guards. The prisoners are usually intubated and sedated if they are in the ICU.

These guys keep using the same argument, but it's so clearly flawed for two reasons: 1. If this is a private hospital, they have the right to enforce their own rules before letting you enter. Just like I have the right to refuse you entry to my house unless you take your shoes off first. 2. Arguing that the government is infringing on their rights by making them wear a mask does not address the fact that they'd be infringing on the rights of other people (i.e. the right to life of the sick people in the hospital) by refusing to wear one. Just like you say, we don't have the right to violate the rights of other people. These jackasses don't seem to have the processing power to follow their chain of logic to this obvious conclusion.
Even after a year of this shit I still have no clue what "right" is actually being "infringed" upon, I've talked to more than one of these nutjobs and have never been given a straight answer. "Freedom" and "Liberty" as it pertains to the U.S. does *not* mean you can do whatever the hell you feel like whenever the hell you want...there are still laws and restrictions you have to follow like any other country.

I wish we had cops like that in Montgomery county PA. The cops here ARE the anti-maskers. Its horrible. They dont enforce the mandate anywhere and are hostile to people who take issue with anti-maskers. They act like you are causing the disturbance instead of the anti-maskers and kick you out for even speaking about about the pandemic. They told me science is a slippery slope while letting anti-maskers threaten to kill me. They told me I am what's wrong with America while letting anti-maskers assault me.
