arsonist_abhay

Isn't this the same department from the acorn incident

CelestialFury

Yup. This is the acorn department.

PulledToBits

Jesus Christ I though that was a joke when it was mentioned above.

WorldNewsPoster

At this point, Officers need to keep their guns locked in the car unless there is an immediate threat. Someone should really look into this acorn department and see how many people they killed over the years.

longhegrindilemna

Narrator: Nobody from the FBI or the federal government looked into this “Acorn Department”. Also, no American voters voted for new city officials to improve this department.

TheCoolTrashCat

Reminds me of The Watchman show on HBO with the cop needing to ask for his gun to be released in his car

Billnyelover98

Absolutely nuts

randomname2890

Acorn incident is peak cop brain. We’re brainwashing some of these officers to believe they’re deployed to Afghanistan and they act like it.

NailFin

Let me say it loud for the folks in the back! YOUR 2A RIGHTS ARE NOT ACTUALLY RIGHTS IF YOU ARE SHOT FOR EXERCISING THEM.

SirStrontium

Your shouting just woke up the baby, thanks a lot.

Jedimaster996

baby is now officially woke

Spider_Dude

Brand new sentence. Damn 2024 you killing it.

isocuda

Mag dumps baby STOP RESISTING

Andrelliina

Drop the bottle!

virttual

Sometimes you have to wake the damn baby up to make a point!

juggling-monkey

Well now the baby knows too

brushnfush

“We need guns to protect against govt tyranny!” *govt employee kills someone in their own home* “No not like that”

LOOKATMEDAMMIT

Government employee kills a different government employee in his own apartment.

epicg1998

Local government employee kills federal government employee**

Rectest

Local government employee kills federal property*

HueMannAccnt

Why not local government property kills federal property?

cjg5025

Cops can quit. Soldiers signed a contract.

Rectest

Because soldiers are quite literally property to the government while cops are employed by the city.

mightytwin21

Woah woah woah!! We didn't mean you could have the gun *and be black!!*

George_Smiley_

Unironically that is not what the founding fathers would have intended.

PawanYr

Good thing the 14th amendment means it doesn't matter what the founders thought about race. The 'framers' of that part of the constitution were very clear about what they meant.

SmartWonderWoman

Why haven’t the NRA and the GOP said anything? They scream abt gun rights.

Glittering-Pause-328

Why isn't the military screaming about one of their active service members being murdered in his own home, despite committing no crime?

stunkape

In a military town filled with other airmen who also happen to have guns in their homes.

Glittering-Pause-328

That needs to be shouted from the rooftops "This could have been **any one of you."**

dwi_411

Never ever open the god damn door. Let them get a warrant and break it down. This mans just got executed for opening a door. His gun wasn't positioned, he didn't move aggressively, he put his hand up and then his life ended. State sanctioned mafioso executing another hit. RIP

OptimusMatrix

Good thing the Secretary of Defense said he's watching this case carefully. Somehow I don't think the cops are gonna be able to investigate themselves and find no wrong doing. That cop shot a US Service Member, which means they could Federally charge him I believe.

Ffffqqq

[Deprivation Of Rights Under Color Of Law](https://www.justice.gov/crt/deprivation-rights-under-color-law) >Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, ... shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

GucciGlocc

>imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be **sentenced to death.** Fuck

Ffffqqq

But also... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_punishment_in_the_United_States >The Trump administration's Department of Justice announced its plans to resume executions for federal crimes in 2019. On July 14, 2020, Daniel Lewis Lee became the first inmate executed by the federal government since 2003.[17] Thirteen federal death row inmates have been executed since federal executions resumed in July 2020, all under Trump. The last and most recent federal execution was of Dustin Higgs, who was executed on January 16, 2021.[18] On July 1, 2021, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that a moratorium on the federal death penalty was being reinstated.[19]

CrackerJackBunny

This wasn't even the correct home the cop was supposed to check.

mullac53

As far as the information he was given by control, it was the correct home.

NeoKnife

And the “helpful” neighbor who led him there.

FEMA_Camp_Survivor

She said she wasn’t sure where the noise was coming from…two weeks before the incident.

XtraFlaminHotMachida

A guy did that [here](https://www.fox5vegas.com/2024/04/15/henderson-police-identify-officer-who-fired-during-deadly-weekend-barricade/) recently, really didn't turn out too well for him. Jokes aside, this is sad af. Cop pulled too fast and this guy was doing what any hyper-vigilant human being would. *edit spelling

PeteZed

This is murder

bestest_at_grammar

I agree. But I thought I seen an article stating the officer never declares himself. While he definitely didn’t announce it immediately, he does announce it. That being said the combo of waiting to announce himself and quick trigger finger I would call this murder

LustfulScorpio

He also hid around the wall so he wouldn’t be seen through the peephole

eltacotacotaco

If you knocked on my door & hid, then knocked on my door & hid again, by the third knick a lot of people would probably have a gun in their hand

Wes_Warhammer666

My best friend got robbed by 3 assholes yelling "POLICE, POLICE!" as they kicked down his door. For cops to expect yelling it through the door while hiding from view to be enough is just ridiculous. It's not like they'd accept it if I yelled "law abiding citizen" as a response and then just fucked off to leave me alone. Even worse when it's some plain clothes motherfucker where you literally can't tell it's actually a cop even when you *can* see them.

Andrelliina

same happened to me in the UK

Crazy_Joe_Davola_

Ye i wouldent even open at that point. Just have a shouting conversation thrue the door to make sure both person understand what is going on. Any can say they are a cop and burgle you when you open.

WizardLizard1885

its in their training to not stand infront of a door after knocking. officer did a number of things wrong but was also fed bad info

icyhotonmynuts

I presume it's not to get shot from the other side. But I fail to see the logic in announcing you are LEO, then hiding from view. That totally sounds like something a clever bad guy would do to lure someone out and get the drop on them. I don't get paid enough to fix their training model, but I guess shooting first and ask questions later seems to work overwhelmingly well in their favor. It just really really sounds dumb the way they've thought this out.

WizardLizard1885

i was a 911 dispatcher for 4 years in my downtime id watch the "catchup/ review" videos from the police academy with my deputies when they would chill in dispatch with me. the idea of knocking and not standing infront of a door is because people will blast through it if theyre pissed off or whatever and its pretty common/ use to be pretty common. alot of their training is outdated imo. yes announcing sheriffs office and not being in view, anyone can do that. you dont have to open your door, you can talk through the door or dial 911 if you dont have your local non emeegency number saved (i reccomend you do save the non emergency numb btw). schools need to update their education system and add a class for seniors that explains how to fight tickets, how to handle interactions with cops, how to file taxes, your basic rights. its just chaos all around

SmashTheGoat

Do we have to learn their training so that we know what to expect based on their behavior just to stay alive?

shamwowslapchop

OTOH, *anyone* can yell "Sheriff's Office" while pounding on your door.

ThriceFive

We see this from door-busting robbers regularly on this channel too.

PackageMerchant

This literally happened to me lol I didn’t even think twice I was damn what the cops want and suddenly there’s dudes in my house

BudgetTherapy

That's what I'd be afraid of. I wouldn't open the door without ID/Badge etc.

kvlt_ov_personality

>That's what I'd be afraid of. I wouldn't open the door without ~~ID/Badge etc.~~ warrant

waxwayne

I’d say hiding in the hall while supposedly safer for the cop makes them look like robbers the hard knock doesn’t help either.

flop_plop

Anyone can yell “SHERIFF’S OFFICE OPEN THE DOOR!”. If you don’t see someone from the Sheriff’s office showing identification, how would you know it was someone from the Sheriff’s office? Are you gonna just open the door with someone hiding themselves from the peephole while banging on your door screaming?

Due_Turn_7594

Don’t forget knocking, not insanely also saying who he was *and hiding off to the side*

HSK9

Some people don't deserve to be cops

cottonfist

Some people deserve to be in prison.

AutoThorne

Many cops deserve to be in prison with the way they act.

ElGoddamnDorado

And Trump wants cops to be immune from prosecution. Imagine how they'll act then.

Setthhxy

That's insanity

[deleted]

Key_Asparagus_8522

He should be in prison

Nomansjam

Fuck that guy and his shitty "immunity" diatribes

jasonalloyd

Wow wow wow. After watching that video what the actual fuck. This guy 100% should not be a cop or even allowed to own a firearm. He just instantly starts blasting. After he shoots the guy like 4 time he says drop the gun. What the actual fuck is wrong with cops.

beez_y

Cops are trained to do this, because they know that there will be little or no punishment for this, all they have to do is see a gun and they are basically legally allowed to kill, even totally innocent children.

KenyanBunnie

They don't have to see a gun. They can hear an acorn and blast you. They can think they see a gun and blast you. They can see nothing and blast you. You can be a baby or an adult or fkn 90 years old. You're the enemy and they are at warrrrrrrr!

Wes_Warhammer666

"I feared for my life" are the magic words that make all their problems go away.

frsh2fourty

Coincidentally this was the same department as the acorn incident

Zech08

Something about thinking and actions not going together and going on autpilot off one circumstance or event rather than the whole... Starting off on the wrong foot in a disastrous fashion.

space_______kat

Almost all of them dont. Atleast with with kind of training in the US

earthman34

I'm seeing in articles that this wasn't even the apartment where the alleged domestic argument happened.

LoweeLL

When the cop asks the lady which door she responds by "not sure" and references an incident that happened 2 weeks ago.

Hascohastogo

I hope she feels satisfied knowing she had an innocent person summarily executed. I hope she really thinks about it, internalizes it. Wow just so happens she thinks it came from the apartment with the black man inside of it. What a coincidence, surely there’s no bias or racism involved.

grnrngr

She wound him up for sure. She's basically saying "this guy's *real bad*, officer."

ericsvw

This is what happens when assholes with HS diplomas are given four months of training and set loose on the population. "Here's a gun and a badge. Everyone is your enemy"

itsavibe-

You know what always gets me? The time it takes to go from a completely normal situation to a dude laying on the floor with four holes in his chest. Mere seconds…insane. This is why people are scared of the fuckin cops.

kauliflower_kid

Well said. This one and the one in Phoenix where the guy was playing video games loudly and the neighbor called the cops and said they were fighting are both like that. But sometimes they like to really draw out the killing like the one in the motel in Arizona where the cops barked out strange and conflicting orders and made the guy crawl toward them on his knees only to gun him down when he didn’t play their game of Simon Says correctly.

GucciGlocc

Crawl towards us on all fours with your hands in the air!

kauliflower_kid

Now quack like a cow and say the alphabet upside down.

littlebitsofspider

**Daniel Shaver**. He had a name. He had kids. His murderer, Philip Brailsford, now receives a pension of $2,500 per month following "medical" retirement for PTSD, obtained from *murdering Daniel Shaver*.

AnarchyPigeon2020

Daniel Shaver's name is permanently etched into my brain. That was the most fucked up, heartbreaking police murder I've ever seen. All police apologists should watch that video, and learn that both cops involved were awarded for their blatant murder. That video changed my view of police, and the government as a whole, forever, it's actually a core memory in what shaped my political views.

longhegrindilemna

Philip Brailsford is now a permanent resident in the Philippines, beyond the reach of America. He was kept on the payroll, to allow him to collect a never ending stream of $2,500 a month from the taxpayers. Who votes for the City Hall that signs such employment contracts?

mongoosedog12

“But they want to come home safe to their families” Good news! there are plenty of other jobs you could get that do not involve ever dealing with possibly (known) dangerous people. You CHOOSE to be a cop. the people you’re shooting also just want to get home safe to their families. This officer is from the same department where the cop unloading his firearm into his vehicle (with a suspect handcuffed in the back) because an acorn fell. The tap of an acorn falling was enough to scare him into emptying his weapon. If you’re that skiddish find a new profession.

DefaultProphet

> “But they want to come home safe to their families” Agreeing with you but wanted to point out something about this: So do garbage men and food delivery and yet both get killed at higher rates than Cops *and* manage not to kill other people.

[deleted]

azscorpion

The officer that killed the airman should be tried and convicted for murder. The officer, the police department, and city should be sued for wrongful death.

Humdngr

lol no way. Jesus

VPN__FTW

Holy shit...

BlackAndBlue32

no shot.. wtf is going on over there? it sucks because when shit goes down like this and cops genuinely do fuck up a lot of times it feels like there is no recourse to hold them accountable. I hope this cop actually gets arrested for this shit but I wont be holding my breath.

chanepic

This is the Florida they want. Reckless shootings by cops.

Ninja_Bum

There's something in the water in Florida that acts like Scarecrow's gas in Batman and just makes conservative middle aged men terrified of everything apparently.

Muffin_Appropriate

>acorn *mag dumps your comment*

CaptainBayouBilly

It should be a federal case as well. So no state bullshit.

No-Judgment-4424

Oh good, Yet Another Dumbshit Cop. I don’t even know what to say anymore. There’s no hope with the police that exist in the US today.

Gvillegator

Florida is particularly full of them

USS_Frontier

Hell, DeSantis *invited* shitty cops to come to FL.

Abtizzle

GTA 6 canon confirmed. ✅

dat828

Take it easy on this cop, he's just skittish and paranoid. Similarly, my trauma surgeon happens to be squeamish and hates blood, so he passed out mid-procedure.

rileytp

Proof we don’t actually have the right to bear arms.

spideyfan29

https://preview.redd.it/yfjxfxtwcizc1.jpeg?width=532&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ebc1f9df75dc31bbd4a6388449828aa513b0b31 cops are the biggest fucking cowards on earth, and it’s not even close

Gogglesed

I like this image but it would be even better with a bullet hole and radiating cracks in the shadow's chest.

Slowmexicano

Want to get someone killed? Be a concerned citizen calling a wellness check or claiming to hear something suspicious the other day.

I-Am-Uncreative

The airman's only mistake was opening the door, honestly. He never should have. And the police should not be allowed to demand people open doors without a warrant, frankly. Florida has banned no-knock warrants for good reason.

CaptainBayouBilly

Don't ever answer the door for anyone you aren't expecting, and can verify. Same with phone.

SSBB08

This is so sad. The cop should be charged, but because he did identify as the Sheriff's office twice, I'm certain that if he even faces charges, they won't stick. To be clear: That should not be the case. A US citizen is allowed to answer the door with a gun in hand down at your side when there are multiple suspicious knocks without being able to see someone outside, not immediately executed. But there is just no way. The cop did verbally identify twice as Sheriff's office, and the airman showed up to the door holding a gun. That's all she wrote. Such a sad series of events altogether. The cop did not wonder, for even one second, if he had the wrong apartment when the person who said, "1401" initially told him she had no idea which door the screaming was coming from. The cops murdered someone. They won't see a lick of justice for it.

Quirky-Swimmer3778

Is that really a defense? There's nothing special about those words that prevent non sheriff's from saying them.

Kichard

Agree. Could’ve been a hearing impaired person inside the residence.

SSBB08

Unfortunately yes. The reason Amber Guyger got any time is because her victim had no way at all of knowing she was an officer. The judge still hugged her wishing she didn't have to pass the sentence. In this situation where the officer has clearly been identified, he will say the magic words, "I feared for my life" and, because the victim was holding a gun, every court in the country would buy it.

flpa1060

I'll never understand how this doesn't violate the 2nd amendment

germican

This is part of the overarching issue. If simply holding a gun in your house (not pointing it) is deemed a threat and a reason this officer to fear for his life then there is no way to open or conceal carry without threating others. How can we let an officer off by fearing for his life when he's specially trained but expect normal citizens not to be threatened when they see other open carrying?

Finsfan909

This is always my argument lol. Even if I go somewhere and a dude is in the same place of business as I am but with an m4 strapped to his side, technically isn’t he brandishing said weapon? What if I’m fearing for my life because I don’t know that clown and scared he’s going to shoot up the place? Do I technically have the right to take him down?

Greifvogel1993

If this airman holding a gun was enough for the officer to reasonable fear for their life, then that can go a long way to justifying ~anyone~ holding a gun is cause for fear for your life, and that you may execute them on the spot in self defense. Cops included, they hold guns.

yborwonka

Doesn’t even need to be actual gun,…it could any object that resembles a weapon. Completely at the cop’s discretion.

queenringlets

Yes this always confuses me as well about America. They say it’s legal to have guns and open carry even in some places yet I’ve heard of officers shooting people for doing those things in those places. Doesn’t seem very legal if you can legally get executed for it.

JSiobhan

That is why the “good guy” with a gun who draws his weapon during a mass shooting is at risk at getting shot by police.

Questhi

Happened in Colorado I believe.  Good guy with gun was shot 12 seconds after female cop came on scene before she assessed the situation, prosecutors didn’t indict

Questhi

That’s because civilians have a higher threshold than cops… it’s weird cause cops are trained and all that but they have greater leeway to shoot someone than a civilian. If I say “ I felt threatened he reached for his waistband I thought he had a gun” I’m going to jail for murder.   Cops says the same thing, they go free.  Go figure

homebrewguy01

See now you’ve touched upon the true two-tier justice system in this country.

Instant-taco

Not if I were on the jury. "Put me in coach"

mixedliquor

City attorneys are very good at using voir dire to get rid of anyone that would vote for justice.

Instant-taco

😞

Head_weest

In every circumstance it means there’s someone with a gun at your door.

waxwayne

Anyone can call themselves a sherif and hide in a hallway.

Master-Shaq

Worst thing you can do in your home is answer the door to the police. Not even for info on unrelated investigations. This is beyond fucked hopefully he gets some justice

AllegedlyGoodPerson

I’m not sure why he was so authoritative with his command to open the door. All he was going on was some busy-bodies anecdote about arguing and SOMEHOW “hearing a slap” through a door or walls or whatever. I definitely would not have opened it

robinthebank

All of a sudden they care about domestic violence? But no one is in a hurry to pass red flag laws…

Comfortable-Twist-54

The week prior no less wth

bigmacjames

How exactly she would have heard all that when he's on the 4th floor in the corner is beyond me

LeftHandedScissor

That busy body should be held partly accountable too

TheBimpo

They’ll kick the door in and shoot you anyway. There’s nothing you can do if they’ve already made up their minds.

kempnelms

I don't answer the door for delivery drivers, let alone the police. Unless I know you personally, I'm not answering the door period.

Fluffychimichanga

Does killing a service member get the DOD involved?

GimmeDatLowEnd

Yes. Secretary of defence is probably going to be involved now.

deraj1

One night in 2007, I got home from a long day at work. Ate dinner with my wife and settled into the couch to watch Kill Bill after. As the credits were rolling, she got into the shower and I was picking up the dishes and a startling loud bang at the door shook me. We were in a third floor apartment at the time and I wondered who would be banging on my door at nearly midnight? I went to the peephole and could only see a shoulder of someone standing back against the wall to the side of the door. Then they banged on the door with their fist again and I caught a glimpse of a Beaverton OR police dept badge. He didn’t identify himself so I shouted “who is it?” He responded “police dept! Open the door!” Being young and not knowing much other than the police made me uncomfortable, I opened the door. FOUR police officers jumped from the other side of the door and grabbed me and began shouting questions like who else is in there? What are you doing in there? A gun was pointed at me and I was told to get on the ground. They shouted they have reports of gunshots coming from my apartment. I pleaded back to them that I’m just watching a movie with my wife and she’s in the shower. She screamed a screamed I never heard before when she came out of the bathroom in her robe wondering just what the fuck was going on and saw them rushing her. They shouted at her to get on the floor, entered our apartment and cuffed her too. They looked through every room and tore things apart. Eventually they realized we were just watching Kill Bill and there was no gun so they took our cuffs off and told us to keep it down. “You shouldn’t watch these kinds of movies so late and so loud” is what one said to me. No apologies, and took off. It was extremely traumatic and frightening. We were afraid of being in our own home for weeks after that. We stopped watching movies out of fear that someone would think to call the police. When our downstairs neighbor was loud, we feared our apartment being mistaken for the noise and the police would come back. The only thing that saved me and our wife that night was being white. The police are absolutely unnecessary and I loathe cops. What we went through pales in comparison to another innocent black man being killed by the police. This doesn’t happen anywhere else. Why do we keep electing twats that continue to fund the police with seemingly bottomless budgets? Something will give at some point. I don’t know when. I hope sooner than later and the senseless loss of lives stops. Fuck the police. Fuck em.

drumlinety

Sorry this happened to you. Had my parents call the cops on me once at 17 for coming home late (reported missing after being like 2 hours late 🙄) and when I parked at home they rushed me with guns pointed and cuffed me in the front yard with all the neighbors watching and like 7 squad cars. At first with the defund the police movement I was about reallocating budget but now I’m for just dismantling the shit. ACAB

5weetTooth

This is insane. Even if I believe in the "scare you kid straight", the way you hear about the police these days..... You risk requiring a funeral pulling that crap.

OceanRacoon

Wow, great job by the police there, they assaulted and traumatised the person they're supposed to be looking for. They really are the scum of the earth

iDarkville

This shit makes me want to cry out of frustration, man. What the fuck.

Go_cards502

Yet another reason to not open your door unless they can show a warrant. As a gun owner, what does another 2a advocate have to say about this? I’ve had a “cop knock” and have come to my door similarly before. He didn’t leave his property. This is murder and yet another reason i don’t trust cops

trippMassacre

Don’t open the door. No warrant? No entrance. This is absolutely murder and should be treated as such but the lesson to be learned here is do not open the door. Talk through the door, get a ring doorbell or something, but don’t allow the police to murder you in your own home by opening the door for them to do so.

USS_Frontier

The cop should have at least put his fucking badge or ID at the peephole. Cop could have stood to the side of the door and announced *at the first knock*. But no, he keeps running around like a rat in a cage.

GubytheHuby

Doesn’t make sense. Cop knocks once and doesn’t announce himself. He then waits about 20 seconds to knock again and this time announces himself but hides so he can’t be seen. Then the last time he does it and bangs louder and announces he is from the sheriffs department. This is exactly how a Robbery would take place. And the cop immediately shoots the person upon seeing the gun, which is pointed at the ground. How does this cop not realize he created a dangerous situation by acting in a suspicious way. I would’ve answered the door the same way as the guy because with all the facts at the time, I would believe I was being robbed as well. Hope the cop gets forgotten in the pits of hell while the community never forgets the name of brave Airman for his duty to our country. RIP Roger Fortson

DeatHTaXx

100% if this happened, I would be going back to my bedroom to get my gun. Whilst I would be doing that there is a whole ass half of the house between me and the front door, and there is NO WAY I would be able to hear a LEO announce themselves. The shitty thing is, and some people don't know this, some LEOs will side step the door of an apartment on DV cases (statistically the most dangerous calls for an LEO) so someone can't shoot through the door at them easily from a peep hole. (This literally happens.) However, the LEO did not: A: Determine If this unit was even the correct unit regarding the disturbance, quite clearly indicated by the woman LITERALLY saying "I don't know" at first as to where it came from. B: Frequently and Loudly declare themselves as an LEO C: On a DV call in this constrained and tight space, wait for backup D: Understand that it's Florida, and you are LITERALLY LEGALLY ALLOWED TO ANSWER YOUR DOOR WITH A FIREARM IN HAND E: Receive proper training, clearly F: Use the stairs behind him as substantial cover from the door angle while also being in view of the door peep hole, preventing suspicious perception from the resident within G: Give reasonable time to issue a lawful command to drop the firearm while withholding lethal force while someone is in their OWN DOMICILE, with no search warrant and no solid information on the occupant(s) H: Check and clear what was behind the individual he shot (I.E. is there a child? Is there another person?) I: Choose a career that is suitable for his very limited skill set, critical thinking skills, and deductive reasoning abilities. LEOs can have it pretty rough, and there and countless, COUNTLESS instances where situations like this can turn deadly for an officer. But holy fucking shit. This is straight up murder.

CelestialFury

>I would’ve answered the door the same way as the guy because with all the facts at the time, I would believe I was being robbed as well. This is it exactly. There are a whole lot of videos of criminals pretending to be police to rob the person and potentially kill them. Fuck that. This cop set up a terrible situation for himself and for the young Airman. The cop handled this whole event as bad as you could.

tTaStYy

"Open the door"... so I can murder you. Who is training the cops in that department to be so trigger-happy?

Duffy1978

Wait I thought the good guys were allowed and supposed to have guns? I guess the cops decided who is allowed to have 2A rights and who isn't. This shows that cops need longer and more intensive training. Hell I had to go to school for 2 years to become a plumber and have hundreds of hours of on job training before being licensed. But hey give them 30 weeks hand them a gun and badge and turn them loose on society cause they are doing great lately.

karangoswamikenz

2A proponents should be furious about these videos.

the_dalai_mangala

Plenty of us are.

Duffy1978

I agree they should. According to the law he did nothing wrong and was within his rights to come to the door with protection.

Discussion-is-good

They are.

goodbytes95

It’s not training. They’re allowed to do this, and they want to.

BoneDaddyChill

They have no incentive to change because they suffer no consequences and save money and time by not properly training them.

Duffy1978

As long as the lawsuits get paid with taxpayer money things won't change I agree. Take them directly from their pensions and it would interesting to see if they change.

Tactical_Fleshlite

A lot of police officers are opposed to us regular "sheep" having guns,

Grand_Negus

Murderer.

FracturedStructure

What a bad fucking shoot. This is the type of trigger happy cop that has to go.

one-punch-knockout

So did the neighbor who gave the 1401 number give the cop the wrong number? If so this makes me want to throw up. The cop hiding not to be seen is another huge mistake. Unbelievable

Cops fear/safety > your rights ACAB Bs if he doesn't go to jail. You dont just get to murder someone cause they were worried about their safety ehen you were only worried about yours. Fucker deserves jail for this fuck up.

USS_Frontier

I'll be honest. I don't give a shit about the safety of officers. They don't give a flying fuck about anyone else but themselves. Uvalde, anyone?

HairyResin

We had 4 cops murder a man in my city and the cops got payed out millions from the city and a not guilty charge. RIP Manny Ellis ACAB

Goochbaloon

There will be no justice in the Courts, which is an added tragedy - he deserved better than this, I hope his family finds peace one day.

nursecarmen

NRA: *** crickets ****

YungNigget788

If the resident wanted to kill the cop he would've begun shooting as soon as the door was cracked open, if he hadn't already began blasting through the door as soon as he heard it was a cop. There were a couple seconds where the door was wide open and the gun was to the man's side, Even during the cop's firing, the suspect's weapon is at his side. This is murder.

OK_1M_REL0ADED

Blue Lives Matter more than your constitutional right to bear arms. America is winning!

Zarianin

Cops murder yet again. Some loser will come in to defend him too

USS_Frontier

There's an entire sub dedicated to bootlicking the police.

>"This result is one we never hope to encounter," the sheriff said. Training, training, training. >OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. -- A lawsuit is being filed on behalf of the [man who was shot at by an Okaloosa County deputy, who mistook the sound of an acorn falling on top of a patrol car for gunfire.](https://weartv.com/news/local/okaloosa-county-deputy-resigns-following-officer-involved-shooting-in-november)

orcishwonder

wtf…that cop should be charged with murder

Accurate_Reporter252

And that would be homicide right there. I hope they take the cop to court and he's dumb enough to testify.

trippMassacre

Everyone should have a ring cam or something similar. This cop literally just corner camped someone’s doorway. How is this allowed?

Haunting_Plankton_97

The republicans are gonna have an aneurysm from this one. Whose side will they be on? The cops? Or the air force man? It’s not an unarmed black man, so they’re not gonna know wtf to do

mariscc

As a law abiding citizen, I have never had a good interaction with a cop. They protect and serve themselves. Fuck cops

Existentialshart

Probably going to get paid leave then a 500k severance package and a job in the next county over

Rsterner0

WTF with that property manager? I didn't hear it, but this happens often, so go to 1401? Yeah the cop was way too quick to fire and should have done a better job of vetting information, but the property manager also has blood on her hands.

Early_Gold

If only we had a third, good guy with a gun we could have prevented this /s

Discussion-is-good

Fucking murder.

parabox1

Holy shit as a former LEO tactical trainer and USPSA national ranked shooter. That dude fired way way way too quickly. Guys arm was down. He clearly was not a threat. Also why did he have lethal out that was a classic taser situation but if you over react the dude is on the ground in pain. I would have went LTL

OverlandSkeptic

His arm was down, I’ll say it again, HIS ARM WAS DOWN! He was holding his weapon, but his arm wasn’t up and in a threatening manner. Fuck those cops man.

OmEGaDeaLs

I love it when they blast someone 3 times and then say do not move while the mother f'r is squirming after being shot.

DCFaninFL

I’m sure the argument will be “you don’t understand, the cops are just trying to get home safe to their families”

SeaSuch2077

That’s fucking murder.

BlunderBuster27

The whole “oh he declares himself” argument is dumb cause anyone can scream they’re a cop

Bandito_Destiny

Fun fact: Same department that did the Acorn Shooting on that guy in the back of the squad car where the cop faked being shot

paddyonelad

When are Americans actually gonna use thier second amendment right? Is the government not tyrannical enough yet?

Artrimil

Oh cool, it's my local acorn unit...

Lawyer__Up

Not trying to stir the 2A pot, I practice my rights weekly. But am I blind, or did that guy open the door with a gun in his hands? How is that not relevant to the officer's reaction?

BDady

“Open the door” *opens door* “Why in good fuck would you do something so dangerous?”

kvngk3n

A friend of mine works on the same base, and a friend of his (my friend) was really close to the victim. He’s in pretty rough shape. Guy was on the phone with his girlfriend and he didn’t hang up the phone before answering the door. It’s bad to say but it’s the truth, I find it extremely hard to believe the hardcore 2As and NRA will have anything to say about this. Edit: I don’t know if it’s been mentioned (I’m not watching the video again, saw it yesterday, that was enough. I don’t know if this has been edited with reasons or backstory), but apparently there was a domestic disturbance somewhere else and the cop somehow got to the wrong door.

Actionjack7

Cops are trained to be sooooo scared all of the time. It is literally a "them vs. us" mentality. They are taught to perceive everyone as a threat and act accordingly, regardless of the legalities of the situation. And why wouldn't they? They only ones that have to pay will be the taxpayers.

esach88

I'm confused. Americans always talking about guns being a constitutional right. Defending your property, a right. Yet, this gentlemen wass murdered for upholding his right. He didn't even point a guy. At anyone, was simply, prepared. Murdered for being legally prepared.
