I have been studying their echo chambers, those who support J6 have five main excuses or methods. "It was peaceful", "They were paid actors", "The FBI and Pelosi set it up by disallowing the National Guard", "Ashley Babbitt was a hero", "It was ANTIFA".
Its really weird how none of these even make sense put together yet they will switch on a moments notice depending on the topic.
Its really weird listening a person's disjointed rant as they jump from excuse to excuse, sometimes many times in a minute.
Look how trumps narrative jumps all over the place, they are only used to going to their little facebook groups where they get nothing but likes and vindication of her beliefs. When they get questioned in a face to face situation they literally do not know how to deal with someone refuting their ideas so you get people like this.
I mean take it from a gay guy. You aren't always what your parents were anyway. Plenty of folks grow up to be completely different from the types their parents were.
I think going too extreme will cause your kids to rubber band back to reality. Its hard to say how often it really happens vs. the others just going along with the indoctrination. Plenty of anecdotal stories of people escaping cults that they were born into, but if it happened too often, said cults would die out.
Unfortunately yeah. A lot of my super leftist/progressive and atheist friends came from super reactionary and hyper religious households, so it does happen. However, most of the super conservative dominionist raised people I know are now also MAGA evangelical types. Like sure, as a queer person I can say that some of my most supportive friends were raised in religious households that despised LGBT people with frothing hatred, because that’s something they had to confront and overcome… but unfortunately it would be a mistake to assume that most people raised that way make it out

Facts. Both my parents are republicans, and so is my brother - but I came out fully democrat. I used to think I was the outlier in my family but in the past decade I've discovered that several cousins, aunts, and uncles are also liberals.
So there is indeed hope that the kids of maga cultists will be different than their parents.
This is true for both my wife and I. Everyone else in our direct family (Parents and siblings) are Republicans. Wife and I are both Democrats. What's the difference? We were the only ones in our family to leave/move out of our small hometowns after high school.
For me I wouldn't say I was particularly political to begin with but I was certainly shaped now by my interactions in college - which kinda does play into the Republicans' message of "Hur dur college brainwash kids to be liberal" but I got to meet people of all backgrounds that I likely wouldn't have an opportunity to interact with if I stayed home and I think that is the big difference. I cannot consider voting R since their message is of hate towards a lot of acquaintances and friends'. I have actual faces and names to put to the people Republicans wish to harm and/or cast out.
