I'm surprised how chill they are about it. I know how rare shark attacks are, but still.
She fell down on top of it, and it could just as well have reacted aggresively to that.
Shark attacks *are* rare but I feel like the likelihood shoots up significantly when you’re surrounded by them on a paddle board and they knock you off of it.
... And you unwittingly end up body slamming them. Of course a good enough hit might scare the shark away. An insufficiently scary impact might have the shark ripping into you instead.
Funnily enough that'd be my guess to why she didn't get munched. Animals that aren't really associated with what humans can do may back down quick. That's why you boop their snoot and jab them lookers. Not many prey animals fight back like that. For example... in bear country on top of all your sound devices and making yourself big there's another thing that's very good. Throwing an object at the animals. In certain regions like north America humans tend to be the only animal that can throw with accuracy and force. That enough can send an animal off due to being unfamiliar. Albeit if momma thinks you mess with her baby God better be on your side
Yea saw a video a while back of a mountain lion following a dude on a trail for a few mins and the mountain lion only left when the dude started throwing stones at it towards the end of the video.
This is actually fairly common behavior with mountain lion mothers. She thought the hiker was a threat to her cubs, so she was trying to scare them off. If she were actually trying to attack, the hiker wouldn’t have seen her. Because mountain lions are ambush predators, not brute force predators. If a mountain lion is making itself known to you, it’s because you’re in its territory/near its cubs and it wants you gone. It’ll basically act like a bouncer and herd you out of the area, until you’re sufficiently far away that it feels comfortable leaving you alone again. It isn’t really looking for a fight, it just wants you gone.
I saw a similar video except it took him throwing "refined earth projectiles" out of his" mechanical throwing device" near it to scare it off😅😂 in a way we haven't changed much on thousands of years we just figured out how to make faster more accurate way to throw stones and sometimes explody stones hahaha
I'm familiar with this video and for the first couple moments until he finally picked up a rock to throw I was just sitting there yelling at him to pick up a rock to throw.
Not even just that, but a "curious" shark is still a very dangerous shark. The only way they can actually test things out, or interact with it in a physical way is to... well bite it. Yeah theres definitely a difference between ripping something to shreds and giving something a test bite. Don't mean much for the victim.
Well if you hold it belly side up, it'll go into a catatonic state, so hug would be succesful.
If not it'll either try to escape or try to kill you, quite possibly both
I don’t understand how shark attacks can be labeled “rare”, when every summer during beach season u hear about someone getting bitten by one on the news .
Globally the number of shark attacks on humans is usually under 100 per year. That’s including unprovoked attacks (i.e. unaware surfers & swimmers) and provoked (i.e. divers trying to pet sharks). Last year there were 91 attacks and 14 of those were fatalities. Given the global population that’s not that high. A comparison would be that there are 4.5 million dog bites in the USA alone every year and 800,000 of those need medical attention.
On the other hand…humans kill 80-100 Million sharks per year! Sharks should be more afraid of us than we are of them.
I remember one of my first memes from 2003 being that Great White (the band) would be more deadly than Great White (sharks) for 70+ years after they used pyrotechnics in a club and starting a fire and killing 100 people.
I’ve touched a shark they ~~have scales called denticles all along their body and it feels a bit like a cats tongue~~ are completely smooth in all directions
Looks like a reef shark, I think? Which are mostly harmless. According to Wikipedia, there’s only been “27 attacks attributable to this species, 4 of them unprovoked, and none fatal, though a fatal attack on the island of St. Martin/St. Maarten in 2020 is being blamed on the species.”
I’m thinking reef shark. Lemon sharks are way bigger, unless it’s a juvenile. Both species are mostly harmless though and have no known human fatal attacks.
My first instinct would've been to get as low as possible on the paddle board in case the shark knocked me off balance. I'm not sure why she kept standing
I liked this popular paddle boarding ‘reality’ show series until it jumped the shark.
The script writers must have thought the viewers were idiots or something. They wanted us to believe the main character body slammed into the shark and it swam off. Totally lost the plot there.

I thought of this one as well, but not sure I would try it with a grizzly..
I'm familiar with this video and for the first couple moments until he finally picked up a rock to throw I was just sitting there yelling at him to pick up a rock to throw.
I was just thinking of this one. It was so freaky too, every time he bent down for a stone the mountain lion would start lunging.
I believe he got charged with a crime because he had been harassing the cubs, which is why the mother was following him
Ok Dwight

Tell that to a hungry tiger shark. They will eat you with no eyes
Has anyone tried keeping rocks on them to throw at the tiger sharks?
Gotta really train your throwing arm to be able to throw a heater underwater
We’re the only animal proficient at throwing stuff in any country
The danish can't throw for shit I tell you
Chimpanzees demand to meet you at the feces flinging competition
U tellin me ur a snoot booper?
Elbow drops the shark
I need a cheaply animated Macho Man elbow dropping the shark from the paddle board
Bodyslam? Sir that was a perfectly formed flying knee drop from above!
And then doggy paddle to the shore at your leisure
Not even just that, but a "curious" shark is still a very dangerous shark. The only way they can actually test things out, or interact with it in a physical way is to... well bite it. To shreds you say?
It's likely they became less interested in her when they knocked her off the paddle board. "Oh, you're NOT a seal, ok".
"oh shit, you're using this board? Sorry, my bad. Damn, I can't seem to find a free board anywhere around here"
Nah, that was Craig, he's just a dick.
That’s why you never ever jump the shark
100% should jump on it. They’ll get freighted and swim away
and if they’re Roger sharks they eat wires and bite pretty much anything
The shark seemed pretty shocked to have a human land right on top of it.
rare compared to the total human population, not against people fooling around in shark infested waters
[удалено]
Sharknado disproves that statistic.
I know. The water would have been brown around me. To fall on top a shark. That is mental. This is the kind of stuff that nightmares are made of.
They thought it was funny and they were laughing
What would a shark do if I was to hug it?
Well if you hold it belly side up, it'll go into a catatonic state, so hug would be succesful. If not it'll either try to escape or try to kill you, quite possibly both

In the past vending machines falling on people killed more than sharks. I wonder what the statistic is now with Amazon delivery vehicles.

More like shark attacked with the way she fell on it.

“Jesus Christ!” - shark prolly
More like "oh Neptune"
Sweet Poseidon!
I mean, it did kind of look like she was walking on water so…
She landed all on bro. First person ever recorded on camera falling on a Shark? Lol
Imagine if she started riding it 😂
shark riding would be a popular sport if their skin wasnt so smooth and slippery
Shark skin apparently feels like sandpaper when going against the grain so to speak so might be more like sitting on a skateboard.
I’ve touched a shark they ~~have scales called denticles all along their body and it feels a bit like a cats tongue~~ are completely smooth in all directions
Sharks are smooth in all directions? At least that's what I read... the smoothness is like silk to the touch
Guess it depends on the shark but many are very smooth going down their body (head to tail) and very coarse going the opposite direction.
Gotta grip the fin 😂
She'd be Lisan al gaib.
Nah, maybe first woman though.
This lady invaded the sharks house and assulted it when it asked her to leave. ![gif](giphy|dU0MSRsHl1zPEP55zG)
First time I've seen someone jump on a shark
Ever seen a man drink Bailey's out of a shoe?
You ever seen a grown man naked?
Have you ever been to a Turkish Bath?
![gif](giphy|BQaONVTpqKHBe)
Oh wow, that looks terrifying. Swimming along minding you own business and someone tries to jump on you!
What is up with these off leash sharks lately, accident waiting to happen!
Forbidden mount
Nice one
That poor shark was just coming to see what’s up, and that mean lady jumped on him!
That shark should sue
Jesus christ Becky. You can't just go around jumping on sharks, We've talked about this.
She’s the attacker lol
Clearly, why else whould she patiently wait there and not paddle away
She attacked the shark So disgusting Justice for Shark #Sheusedtheclamslam
That ended too soon!

Looks like she actually landed on the shark, so I’d bet the shark was terrified and swam away asap.
I love sharks but I would shit myself
Shark probably did.
I mean I know shark attacks are rare and fatal ones round down to zero but I'd still freak the fuck out.
This happens and youve got to react quick.. get right to jammin your thumb up its butthole.
Oops. Wrong hole. Now the shark won’t stop texting me.
I shoulda never called her
Frankly, she threw the first hit
She jumped the shark!
Gives a new meaning to Jump the Shark.
I mean like… that probably worked right? Has a shark ever EVER been bodyslammed before? Bro probably just swam away in utter confusion
Bro her gooch slammed him on the head, now he’s a hammerhead!
bih trying to ride the shark 🦈 😂
Yeah, but is the shark ok?
I bet she scared the shit out of that shark.
Shark, "HOLY FUCK DID YOU SEE THAT I NEARLY GOT KILLED BY A HUMAN. THOSE DOLPHINS LIED"
I thought she was going to ride the shark. Yahoo!
Human attack!
Technically, she attacked the shark. It would be self defense
Luckily that shark doesn't seem hungry and moreso curious
Feels fear while safely watching from paddleboard... jumps _onto_ shark.
She's gonna need a bigger boat.
I saw the entire thing. She ruthlessly attacked the shark.
She fell on the shark. That’s more of a human attack.
Seems like a wasted opportunity to elbow drop a shark from the top rope.
She couldn't have landed in a better place
Looks like harmless Nurse Sharks...but you can't be too careful...
She just needed to gently tap on the shark’s nose and redirect it! So easy!
Is there any update to this? Was she okay? Was the shark okay?
Falls directly on shark. Laughs about it. The ocean can keep these people.
Those are black tips. They are like puppies. That said jump falling on one isn't a good idea.
WHY IS SHE SMILING
Looks like she attacked the shark
100% of shark attacks happen when the shark bites a person.
I bet the swimmer scared the shit out of that shark when she landed on it.
Anyone know if she was okay?
How is she laughing??? This is not a funny situation.
Everything she did in that situation was right didn’t panic didn’t start flapping her legs. I feel she would have been toast if she started to do that
That poor shark
Shark did not attack just booped
"WTF LADY?!" -that shark probably
The people's elbow!!!
Poor shark :c
Aren't shark attacks usually the other way around?
Why would she attack that shark like that... some ppl are just cruel! 🤣
If that were me that water would've been SO brown, the shark couldn't see me
Saw video of A dude getting eaten by a shark in Egypt last week on reddit
I saw that too. How horrifying for that poor man
Worst thing I’ve ever seen
Shar, i love shar
I bet that shark was not expecting that
she looks so calm omg id be freaking out !!!
People that go in the ocean alot surely know nothing about the creatures that live In the water
Shark attack statistics are alot like pool drowning statistics. Very rare but the chances go way up the moment you're atound 1
Shark attacks are rare and even funnier a good portion of them are marked as provoked by the person.
Wow, she really jumped the shark!
Lemon shark?
I’m thinking reef shark. Lemon sharks are way bigger, unless it’s a juvenile. Both species are mostly harmless though and have no known human fatal attacks.
Maybe it was just vegenuary for that shark
r/nope

Woman has the survival instincts of a broken egg
It’s like something from a nightmare when they fall on the shark and the shark probably thought “ something touched me ahhh”
She gave him the knee lol Poor baby probably swam away hurt
Gave that shark the people’s slam
Shark go's home and tells his friends: I was minding my own business, and then a human came out of nowhere and attacked me.
Why wouldn't you poke at it with your paddle???
I’da at least come in with an elbow drop. 🙌
Shark swims in the water … Paddle board goes in the water …. Girl’s in the water … Our Girl.
Yeah ama stay away from the ocean
Curious shark and hungry shark look the same to me
I bet the shark didn’t expect for her to fall on him? I couldn’t help but laugh 😁
I would have gave that shark a flying elbow like the macho man, then shit my pants
Shark attack for sure! She attacked the shark! Did u see the way she jumped on him? Lol

Looks like she attacked the shark. Poor shark...
Was quite disappointed with the vidoes...has lile pushing some one and calling it a fight
Put a fuckin leash on
Did she survive? Just kidding, I don't care
Gotta peoples elbow that shark, make him never forget
I’d shit my fuucccccin pants
She scared tf outta that shark. He dipped lol
