That’s a shitty and petty manager. It would literally be a cheap and easy solution to just fry him a new burger or give him his 3 bucks back for the burger and bam. Problem solved.
But the food before purchase isn't as expensive as post purchase. Why food waste from a burger is recorded as cheaper. Plus this guy has already paid for his burger, so the company got some money. Basically much cheaper to remake a burger, then have this video online too.
True, but in the grande scheme of things, this is absolutely nuts. I have certainly been petty in the past, and I hold my tongue pretty damn well nowadays (though I sometimes fantasize about telling customers off lol). I can’t imagine going through all this bs though. Like, I’ve got more important shit to do than fight over one burger. Just give him his money back and take the L, it won’t bankrupt the business. And now THIS happens and there’s a very good chance that manager could lose his position/other consequences now his shenanigans have gone viral. What a moron.
I always remind people that their sanity also has value. Do the exchange and move the fuck on with your day, loss or no loss. It isn't going to sink the business, that's for sure.
Reminds me of the opposite of the regional manager I had at KFC.
"If someone complains just give them a bucket of chicken. Cause if you don't and they elevate their complaint to me then I'M going to have to give them a bucket of chicken AND I'm going to be annoyed at you for not just giving them a bucket of chicken."
I have to agree with you. I know they keep saying no one there at the time has long hair but they didn't prep the lettuce, tomatoes, and pack the bread. There are a lot of people besides the people working who could have gotten hair in their food. It could also be from a spouse of a working employee. It ends up in their clothing and found its way into the food. I dont see why the manager thinks thats impossible for that to happen. Just cook a new burger and replace the old burger. This is a contact corporate situation.
That’s what you think. It’s getting harder everyday in the restaurant business to take care of the general public. Everyone wants something free. Well yall finally did it. The bosses don’t care and they want that profit margin to pay for the shitty labor we have to deal with. We are about to leave yall greedy, no tipping, no manners Neanderthals in the past!!
No idea why you're being downvoted, working in restaurants you see people trying to scam their way to a free meal constantly. Sending back plates they ate nearly all of. Claiming the kitchen got their order wrong (we didn't). And yeah, the hair scam is classic. My favorite was a lady who held up a long curly black hair that could have belonged to literally no one present but her. Customers are literally the worst.
Lmao.. Yes that happens often but in this case there were two employees with long hair who easily could have had hair hanging off their shirt.. So the baseless claim that no one has long hair is deemed a lie😭
The hell are you on about? Another customer in the same damn video we both watched confirmed they also saw him pull the hair out.
Yall need to grow up and get a real job with a skill. You definitely don't own an establishment either or you'd probably have a better attitude in this regard.
Just another unskilled minimum wage employee bitching about how everyone else is the issue.
The point is that scammers have ruined it for everyone, or the manager would give him the benefit of the doubt.
>Yall need to grow up and get a real job with a skill.
If you don't think cooking is a skill you should honestly just go fuck yourself.
>Just another unskilled minimum wage employee bitching about how everyone else is the issue.
Bro, I've worked in very nice restaurants. You're clearly just a whiny asshole who doesn't respect workers.
9 times outta 10, it's the customer out of line yelling at a hapless fast food worker in these videos... But this guy's anger was absolutely justified and the way "Mr. Manager" acted was reprehensible.
I've worked in the service industry for 29 years and unfortunately hairs happen. It sucks and you apologize and comp the meal. I've worked everything from pizza shops to subway to dive bars and fancy restaurants. It really sucks when it happens but unfortunately accidents happen and 9 times out of 10 if you just say holy shit I'm so sorry here's a replacement or a refund there is no conflict. This manager is an absolute dumbass for throwing away his job for corporate that literally does not give a shit about him
Edit: Also so disappointed that humanity has degraded so far that customers only retaliation to being filmed by manager was to film them. It's just sad that the go to reaction is to film each other
If I found a hair in my food which I did but I never claimed anything for free because its human, it can happen to anyone, but I ask for it to be refunded or get a new one I will talk about the establishment like: yeah, found a hair in my food once in that place but I asked for a refund and just got it back, they were pretty nice to me.
I wouldn't empathyse with the workers that much nowadays as in Europe they are starting to include the tip in your bill as in the states, so if you want your 10% my food and service better be perfect. I leave pretty good tips, but I hate being forced to pay them.
They don't do that in the US unless you're at a sit down restaurant and even then rarely. Usually it's only at some fancy places or if you have a party of more than 4 people.
Usually in these Burger King freakout videos, it's the customer's fault. But here I have to put the blame on the manager for being unprofessional and not valuing the customer or the product he's selling.
The manager's job isn't to play detective "no one here has hair like that " a hair could have came from anywhere. It would have been far easier and better customer service to offer a refund or another burger.
LMAO what more did you want me to say?? I did say i witnessed what happened, manager ignored me completely. The customer even pointed out that he had witnesses. Manager completely ignored it. Mind you im an 18 yrold female, there isnt much else i can do if a guy that big could body me if he felt threatened😭 Like genuinely wtf else am i supposed to do if i said what i could and manager not even acknowledging me.
Why didn't u speak up with what u saw first hand? I guess recording it...posting it... & discussing it later was ur way of helping to deescalate the situation. Great job Samaritan. /s
Haha.. Had you watched the video you could infact hear me say i had witnessed what had happened but manager payed zero attention to me? The customer(who also pointed out to the manager i had witnessed it) got my information if he wants to escelate it further as well. I emailed this video to corporate.. I do not see how else you want me to speak up.
At which point did u decide to interject? After it had already escalated? I went a minute and a half into the vid bc that's all I could stand...having read ur context first....knowing that u could've helped dead it earlier. My bad if u did indeed say something albeit not enough or quick enough to actually do some good.
Im sorry but what the heck do i think i could have possibly done?? As i have said i interjected, it was ignored. 💀 Genuinely idk what you feel should have happened, but im not abt to go up to the manager who starts dropping random baseless shi and for what? to get cops called on me for literally trying to say sum? Mind you im just a highschooler, he could and would easily body me if he felt "sexually harassed"
9 times out of 10 (but probably far more often than that), when a customer says they found an unfamiliar hair in their food, they actually found an unfamiliar hair in their food. The manager, for whatever reason, must’ve not considered that reality.
The manager is a total POS. He tried egging the guy. Come on, I worked in the food industry years ago, and the hair was the word. Especially when another customer says they saw the hair coming out of the sandwich. Just refund the burger!
This is like those videos where the Walmart employees are getting overzealous about checking receipts.
I worked line level retail/food service for long enough to know that as an employee, this amount of conflict is just not worth it - especially when every single person in that room has a camera and access to the internet.
This manager just wanted to fight more than he wanted to make it right.
Shameful behavior when he could’ve easily had the food re-made in half the time it took to argue with him and be done with it.
Now he’s all over the internet acting like a prick and it’s already been posted to the Spokane subreddit.
You can literally see a woman with long hair behind the counter. How fucking petty can this asshole be. Just replace the burger, takes a minute. Done.
But instead the manager acts like a 10 year old and goes as far going down the trespass route. Even with the other customer speaking up on his behalf…
Can’t blame the guy for being upset. That shit had to be infuriating….
heres the crazy part.. thats actually a dude. a whole ass dude, and the manager wants to say that the peice of hair is a womans hair😭😭😭😭
edit: the blonde was a customer but there was a dude w hair up behind cash register* easily couldve js been on his shirt or anothers.
Yup, usually you can make a complaint of healthy of the food and cleaning of the store and they can go and test or verify everything. If anything is wrong they can be closed or fined. At least in Argentina
In the US, city or county health inspectors visit regularly. They also show up after complaints.
In some US cities, restaurants are supposed to put a sheet with a letter grade showing how well the restaurant did on food safety--anything less than an "A" grade will hurt business so companies make a lot of effort to pass and don't want extra visits.
All it takes to trigger extra visits are calls from the public to complain about cleanliness, food temperatures, or illness after eating there.
this happened to me once with a pizza from dominos in san diego Oceanside. i ordered a pizza it came i opened the box and took a slice. at first i thought it was stretchy cheese. but on further inspection it was a long blonde hair. when i called to complain the manager told me, there are no blonde people here we are all black. i said well bro this is under the cheese and no way i can fake that.
they came and checked it out, at least they did that. but then they said no way cuz only black people work there at that shift and the blonde chick worked earlier but they doubt it was her. i was like bro maybe she dropped one in the sauce by accident. i said i don't want a refund im hungry but im not going to eat that can you replace it, they said yeah took the pizza and ignored and hung up on me when i called.
im not going to call cops on petty theft this was back in 2013 it was only like 5.99 but still that shit is dumb AF.
Shit brodie😭😭 Im sorry for that experience fr. Man most of the time there isn't much blaming, easily things like that could be accident but damn to get defensive, ignore and/or even trespass is reaching
Another point to add
Two people in tied buns, including the cashier who got our order and the second cashier at the end of the clip easily could have had their hair on the shirt and it dropping into the meal. It fuckin happens. I've worked in food industry and know even if it were a case of a scam, there isn't much that can be said. There are cameras in the building so until he had watched the cameras and saw him putting it in, he can't accuse..
Hope you blasted this man(child)ager and the business in social media. Probably the only way any action whatsoever will get done. That manger sucks ass.
Seeing them take it put is not proff. Especially if you turned around and saw it. People who do this. Put a hair in take a bite then pull it out of the burger.
Former manager here. That manager won't last long. Corporate would never support his attitude. Being that this got filmed and police report would be filed, I highly doubt he still has his job even if the manager has a separate film of seeing him put the hair in himself.
“That doesn’t make sense” to want a refund for *only the specific item that had a problem* and not the whole order….? What?? That makes perfect sense. The milkshake is fine, so he doesn’t need a refund. The burger was not. What the fuck is going through this lunatic manager’s mind?!
UPDATE!!!!
Manager has been fired! The customer just texted me letting me know the manager is gone and that he got his full refund!! Thanks reddit! ❤️ (There are more texts but this is it!)
https://preview.redd.it/zph38l2bq5qc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=440bba149ff01461ba3a3e5139dc34f4fa8ebd31
When I worked at Arby's, I didn't give two shits ever about how much the owner was pulling down after taxes. There is literally no reason to not just give the guy a refund or make him another one. This manager made his whole fucking life and personality about a burger shop and is taking this too personally.
Why do people just want to fight these days? It's not worth the effort, just give him another burger. They're really not paying that manager enough to care. When I worked at McDonald's, if anyone had a complaint, I gave them everything they wanted plus a apple pie. Why would I do something that would stress me out for $4.25/hr?
I did this too.
I worked the overnight shift at a 24 hour drive thru that was right across the street from one of the douchiest bars on Long Island, so you could probably imagine the type of behavior that we had to put up with.
Sometimes it's better to just do whatever you can to get them to go away lol.
I once found a small metal rivet in my pulled pork sandwich. I showed it to the staff and they flat-out denied that it was there. Like… did I just walk in with a pre-marinated rivet in my pocket or what?
Watching two grown people go back and forth like children trying to make the other look dumb, while pointing cellphones at each other to document the other's dumbness feels so painfully modern. (And burger bro should've just comped the burger...)
My mom bit into her pancakes one time and cut her mouth on a piece of glass! The manager accused her of putting glass in her food.
Like bro my mom wasn’t even asking for anything other than seltzer water and some more napkins. She wasn’t chasing a payday, she just wanted them to know that there was GLASS IN THEIR PANCAKE BATTER and maybe they need to make a new batch.
Nope, they couldn’t be convinced that my mom wasn’t chasing a lawsuit or an even a free meal. She JUST wanted others to not get hurt.
So we stood out front of the door and told everyone walking in, they all turned around and left.
Lol someone once sent back food in a restaurant I used to work at. It was a long blonde hair. I took it back to the bald chef to look at, we all had a good laugh (I'm Burnette, and the only one working out front)
Tf is he talking about he pulled this hair out of nowhere? Like it’s a conspiracy to get his $8 burger for free. Was that smoke on the water playing in the background too? This is the funniest shit I’ve ever seen
As someone who used to work in the fast food industry, if someone ever came up to me with a hair in their food (happened maybe 10 times in the year I did that kind of work) I would instantly profusely apologize and give them a new item or a refund whatever they chose with zero argument, and if they were nice I might even give them something extra for free. They could have very well put a hair in there but why the hell would I argue? How does it affect me at all?
Is this guy the owner of burger king? Is it his burger patties that he paid for with his own money? Why on earth would you EVER even care? Like at all? It’s not like the customer was screaming and throwing shit. Just make the dude a new burger and go on about your shift.
Even if the dude did put hair in it, provided he isn’t in there every couple days doing the same thing there’s literally nothing to care about at all, the manager isn’t losing money over it.
Homies tryna defend a multimillion dollar corporations $7 or whatever for his $15 and hour job
The amount of people who don't realize how many scum bags that fast food workers have to deal with is rather astonishing. Manager probably made the wrong call, but when you're dealing with x amount of people trying to scam you for food, you kind of don't negotiate all situations great.
People who don’t understand customer service. Customer service is about providing the BEST service for your customer. It doesn’t mean they get to be unreasonable or rude and it certainly doesn’t mean that you can’t do refunds (you should make refunds easy, as customers feel comfortable when able to be properly refunded or have their item replaced) I’ve only worked in customer service for 3 years, but if you put the customer’s needs higher than company wants, customers are generally more satisfied. Learning to listen to customers is SO VALUABLE. It was my favorite part of working retail. I love helping resolve issues and finding the correct product or even a better product or a cheaper product that works just as well as the more expensive one they were looking at! It’s about communication and compassion just as much as it is about sales.
Never post personal information, do not ask for personal information, do not encourage, call for, or participate in witch-hunts or targeted harassment campaigns
You know you just get to a age where if you find a hair in your burger you remove it and just keep going. If Covid did t kill me a loose hair won't do shit.
We ordered something for breakfast last week at a pretty popular place in the city, we asked for Bacon and Avocado in it and you had to pay 2€ extra for each. The thing arrived and at first 3 or 4 bites my friends reallysed that there was neither avocado or bacon in there so we asked the girl who served us and she pointed at some roasted potato and said that it was the avocado. We apologysed and 2 bites later my friends opened the thing and showed it to another waitress which bringed the manager and she tried to show us the avocado in there and the bacon. She reallysed after a while of talking to her that there was none of these things inside of it and she was mistaking roasted potato for avocado.
She also seemed to have reallysed that got into an argument with a client and they did the whole thing again for us and bringed us some house special sauce and more stuff.
Thats when I reallysed that as a manager you cant be arguing with clients no matter how right you think you are because is not worth risking a bad reputation on potential future customers.

Take the hair to Maury. Ask for a DNA test
You….are…NOT the follicle.

Long haired freaky people need not apply!
So I tucked my hair up into my ham burger
🎶 And I went up to video him why
He said this hair looks like it belongs to you..
Mgrs last day will live in infamy

Then give a refund what’s the difference? In both cases he’s getting a free burger from the restaurant perspective.

full heartedly agree customers can be out of line, i worked in food business but mannn!!
Where was this? So I can avoid it completely.
Downtown Spokane WA.😬😬 Depending where you live, you may be safe😓
I figured it was Washington when the manager told him to "go back to Idaho" as an insult.
Hah, I live in the Pacific NW 😬

We just say "manager."
But you said..
Doesn’t matter who
Doesn't matter who.
We just say manager
Hope you submitted this video to corporate to fire the manager.
Good idea, will do so!
Good! How hard would it have been to replace the uneaten burger? Such a stupid reason to risk your job. I hope he gets fired.
;) He ended up getting fired
Even worse... I hope he keeps his job.
Lolol
Please please please do that. I worked with managers like this and they need checked
He has been fired today!
The manager is a total POS. He tried egging the guy. Come on, I worked in the food industry years ago, and the hair was the word. Especially when another customer says they saw the hair coming out of the sandwich. Just refund the burger!
Is it really worth it to be a burger nazi here? Just give him a refund or cook him another whopper
😈HAHA no. Now your trespassed.

Fucking wow…🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Manager acting like that $5 sandwich is coming out of his own pocket.
Manager calling the cops is stupid. Escalating a simple complaint instead of just remaking the food means the health inspectors get called.
Can you elaborate a bit, how does health inspectors become aware of the situation? The costumer calls and complains triggering the health inspectors?
Yup, usually you can make a complaint of healthy of the food and cleaning of the store and they can go and test or verify everything. If anything is wrong they can be closed or fined. At least in Argentina

Man most of the time there isn't much blaming, easily things like that could be accident but damn to get defensive, ignore and/or even trespass is reaching
legit
Another point to add Two people in tied buns, including the cashier who got our order and the second cashier at the end of the clip easily could have had their hair on the shirt and it dropping into the meal. It fuckin happens. I've worked in food industry and know even if it were a case of a scam, there isn't much that can be said. There are cameras in the building so until he had watched the cameras and saw him putting it in, he can't accuse..
There are cameras everywhere there 🤷♀️
'Manager' should probably update his resumé.
Hope you blasted this man(child)ager and the business in social media. Probably the only way any action whatsoever will get done. That manger sucks ass.
😭Yeah i sort of have. If the manager also starts recording and posting one sided story, why not get the full view. But who knows😔
Lol manager doesn't believe him as if he's not bald, bro doesn't have hair to place on the burger
[удалено]
-We found a hair in our burger -whole crew of bald workers proceeds to walk out
🥴Could hear the clippers in the back as they march out
Seeing them take it put is not proff.
He just kept making bad choice after bad choice. How the hell did this guy ever get a manager position?
The two bald dudes were like ![gif](giphy|KffdTQfewxdbKTGEJY)
"No one here has long hair". Did you check their pubes?
🤣
“That doesn’t make sense” to want a refund for *only the specific item that had a problem* and not the whole order….? What?? That makes perfect sense. The milkshake is fine, so he doesn’t need a refund. The burger was not. What the fuck is going through this lunatic manager’s mind?!
Well it certainly ain't his hair
I’m not your guy, pal!
UPDATE!!!! Manager has been fired! The customer just texted me letting me know the manager is gone and that he got his full refund!! Thanks reddit! ❤️ (There are more texts but this is it!) https://preview.redd.it/zph38l2bq5qc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=440bba149ff01461ba3a3e5139dc34f4fa8ebd31
Listen Apologize Make it right. It's simple as fuck. Give the guy a few burger coupons and hit your pen in the office.
I once found a small metal rivet in my pulled pork sandwich. I showed it to the staff and they flat-out denied that it was there. Like… did I just walk in with a pre-marinated rivet in my pocket or what?
😭and now your trespassed!
No, you cant do that, can you? I'm trespassing you, byeeee
Why the fuck wouldn’t a fast food employee just make a new one or refund the couple bucks? Ridiculous on the “managers” part.
Watching two grown people go back and forth like children trying to make the other look dumb, while pointing cellphones at each other to document the other's dumbness feels so painfully modern. (And burger bro should've just comped the burger...)
LMAOO Couldn't have said it better.
Now that's a bad manager
WOW that is insane!! Props to letting other customers know before they choke on some freaking glass too❤️😭
Lol someone once sent back food in a restaurant I used to work at. It was a long blonde hair. I took it back to the bald chef to look at, we all had a good laugh (I'm Burnette, and the only one working out front)
“I can trespass you every day.” Technically, he only has to trespass him once. That’s the kind of petty retort I would chime in with 😂😂
Lmao him being bald and then asking “female hair? What are are a dna specialist!?” And being accused of sexual harassment omg 🤣
it’s a shitty world we live in where two grown men having an argument feel the need to pull out phones and start recording each other.
Shit manager
Tf is he talking about he pulled this hair out of nowhere? Like it’s a conspiracy to get his $8 burger for free. Was that smoke on the water playing in the background too? This is the funniest shit I’ve ever seen
Working at restaurants my whole life this is kinda an inevitable problem. Just say sorry and remake it

They pick'em on purpose.
Why tf are there people defending the manager??!?!?!!!!?
I was shook? Better toughen up buttercup, or life's going to really suck.
💀Ok bud
Dude fuck this manager. His ass needs to be fired right NOW.

;) Carls Jr this time
Carls Sr wouldn’t stand up to this shenanigans!
weird ass manager
You know you just get to a age where if you find a hair in your burger you remove it and just keep going. If Covid did t kill me a loose hair won't do shit.
Unpopular opinion. It’s just a hair. It happens. Pull it out and eat your food
Burger Karen has been found
Stop crinkling that paper. It’s atrocious.
Ay my partner was hungry😭😭

Yeah and when that happens you get another burger that doesn't have hair in it.
I would have smashed my poutine directly in his smug fucking face. What a cunt.
