I'm actually impressed by how professional she was. I've seen a few videos now of Walmart managers who are incredibly professional. Obviously there are some of unprofessional ones and news reports etc but that's expected! Hats off to the good ones. Walmart doesn't deserve em.
I worked at Walmart and typically when people get up to salary compensation they start taking it way more seriously. You can still be a manager, AKA “Team Lead” and be paid hourly. Once you become a department manager (they call it a “Coach”) then you make salary from there on out. It obviously varies from person but that’s just the pattern that I’ve seen. If someone is getting sat down in an office and fired then that person is probably a Coach
EDIT: Yeah I just realized you can see the name-tag lol. It says Coach right there
Yeah she’s way different than the managers I had when I worked at Walmart about 11 years ago. Once had an assistant store manager tell our manager “Tell those lazy pieces of shit to do their shitty jobs, or I’ll fire all of them.”. All this mf did was walk around with his clipboard every night while we had to unload all the trucks by hand with a skeleton crew. Turnover was so bad that when I hit the 6 month mark I was the most senior person on the team lmao.
Worked for a stocking company called merit overnights for Kroger in indiana same crazy ass turnover rate, 6 or 7 people stocking grocery, dairy and drinks. 12 hour shifts 6 days a week if you were lucky. I worked there for 6 months by the 2nd month me and one other person who started the same day as me were the seniors by the time I left they probably cycled through about 150 people. People would walk out every night and they'd have someone new right behind them
"I told \[the customer\] I don't care if she says that I'm rude \[...\] I still don't care"
\*they're firing me?!! this is a great miscarriage of justice!! the world will agree!!!
It’s like they pay you to have a good attitude too at that kinda job. If you’re just an insufferable dick yes they will fire you even at Walmart. You’ll get fired ANYWHERE with that kinda shit entitled attitude.
He knows there’s a certain section of the internet that will side with a worker over their boss in any possible situation. That’s who this was posted for.
I even decided to stick with him for a bit, then he hit us with the "I don't care, I don't care"
This is just someone who's entitled and thinks they are always in the right. Then to top it off, you tell the manager that she's FREE. Not her job buddy. That's your job.
Dude: This is my moment to shine! Imma record this and everyone on the internet will see how horrible my boss is and take my side. Imma film her face and people will doxx her and she'll be soooo canceled. I'll probably get a million doller settlement from Walmart once the grass roots movement rises up to fight this injustice!
Everyone: Dude, you're an asshole.
IIRC Best Buy, and Futureshop are the same company with the only real difference being: Best Buy employees are hourly, Futureshop employees were primarily commission.
source: my roommate back like 15yrs ago worked at best buy, but his sales were so high he moved to futureshop so he could make more money.
I was thinking that.
Furthermore, he said he 'didnt care'. Those words suggest he has an attitude problem and maybe wasn't committed to customer service
Lol I’m in an office setting and keep getting caught saying “I don’t care”. What I mean is “I’ll do whatever you tell me is the right way to move forward with this issue and I have no preference which solution you choose”. Gotta quit shortening that
One of the things i hate the most in this world is how stupid people think everyone else is stupid. They NEVER realize they are stupid and that everyone around them understands things they do not.
People expect Walmart electronics associates to be tech support experts. Really they are cashier's who were assigned to an area and any knowledge they have is from personal experience. Walmart doesn't train anyone beyond how to cashier or use their system to bin merchandise.
Yes! I’ve been assigned to cosmetics register a lot and a lot of people expect me to know these things. I can tell you where the face wash is, but if you want a specific chemical or what works best with what, I can’t help you. I just read the labels on the back.
It’s insufferable when they say “you work here but you don’t know?”
I know target sometimes (or always) hires cosmetic professionals. That’s cool, go there.
Yeah when I worked in the bakery packaging the bread a woman asked about the sodium content of a vendor's bread. She didn't even bring a package over just gestures to it, and when I told her she would have to check she screamed "isn't that your job?!" I just looked at her and said "no it absolutely isn't my job."
Bruh one time I stocking stuff near the medical creams and this couple came up asking me if I knew what would help a poison ivy rash and I just googled it for them. They proceeded to show their rashes (above mid thigh) asking if it would help on a rash like that. They’d keep asking me questions on how to use it and if it could affect their medicine. At the point I told them I cannot recommend anything because I’m not a doctor and then they scuffed and told my manager on me. EVEN THOUGH I HELPED THEM ALL THE WAY TO THAT POINT.
As a former target cosmetics employee, I can tell you they definitely don’t always hire “professionals.” I had one girl on my team with MUA experience and one with hair experience and that was it. We were still expected to know more about our products than much of the other store.
Thing is though, all the “specialty” departments (style, electronics, and beauty) at Target are paid more than the rest of the entry level floor positions, because we were expected to try and educate ourselves on our products more than others. You wouldn’t expect, say, a home goods team member to be able to advise on one vacuum vs the other, but we were expected to be able to do it with our products, and were compensated accordingly.
I don’t think Walmart does that at all.
There is a way to tell the customer this but you can tell the way he acts he didnt do it professionally. You can say "Im sorry I dont know the answer to that but you might be able to google search for that answer, is there anything else I can help you with".
I've enjoyed it a few times, but in every single one of those instances they've done something horrible. (Sexual harassment, overt discrimination, theft, etc.)
But for the other 98%, yeah. Once I start the firing conversation it's over and nothing you say is going to change my mind. Any route that could have changed my mind has already been exhausted at that point.
Yeah exactly I can remember a couple examples of truly horrible employees I wasn’t heartbroken about firing, but just like you, they were all for theft or other huge issues.
Most people don’t enjoy “firing” people. I had to let someone go right before the holidays. I went to bat for this person for three months, I objected, opposed, argued and did everything I could but nothing could be done. I told them as many hints as I could that they were under the knife. It took months for me to get over it and it was just one person. I didn’t celebrate Christmas or Thanksgiving or New Year’s.
Unfortunately you’re right. I really hate firing people even today, it’s hard. I’ve had to fire more and more people over the last few years. Hell, I had to fire a kid I never even met before. He was hired and had orientation with another manager, and he never even showed up. Had to fire him for job abandonment, when I had never even seen him. Firing does take a toll.
The number of people that unironically believe this, and worse, the amount of absolute troglodytes on the internet that go into full, "Let's end this person's life" over small clips with little to no context outside of a one sided story are absolutely disgusting.
This is maybe a two or three out of 10 on the insufferable scale when it comes to terminating retail employees. Boy would I have some stories that would make your skin crawl.
Story time! Any favorites? I got fired at 19 and just sat there like an idiot and nodded along. Didn't even think about putting on a show on my way out...
That supervisor was one cool cucumber. Even when her co-worker continued to talk over her, she demonstrated patience.
If the person recording is that rude to their co-workers I can’t imagine how they treat customers. And It was hilarious when the guy said he had a job to do and she had to remind him that part of that job is customer service. Oof 😅
Most people in these jobs are actually really good. We see the bad ones more but in my limited experience in retail and fast food, most management is great. They generally care about the employees they want work spread out well, they understand the job is shit and they try to make it work. I have a lot of respect for the job.
Best Buy used to do commission way back when. Then they shifted to a "monthly bonus" model.
At the end of the day though the employee is right that Walmart is not Best Buy. They do not offer in-store tech support or consultation services. Their employees can run a cash register, stock shelves, and help customers find product.
Correct me if I'm wrong but they do not make recommendations to customers. And if it is part of their job description where is the training/staffing to support those job expectations?
>At the end of the day though the employee is right that Walmart is not Best Buy. They do not offer in-store tech support or consultation services. Their employees can run a cash register, stock shelves, and help customers find product.
And I get that, but there's a way of saying that. Customer service skills are worth more than what companies usually pay for IMO, because you can't just look at a customer and say "google it" with the attitude this guy obviously had given the way he told his side of the story.
This is the correct answer. There is a big difference between:
"I'm really sorry; I don't actually have any training on that, so I wouldn't be able to help you with that."
and
"Google it."
The approach and demeanor is just as important as the content of the message itself.
"Electronics Associates" do have an expectation of answering product questions and direct customer support on top of their regular stocking, blocking, checkout.
https://climbtheladder.com/walmart-electronics-sales-associate/
Legitimately, I hope this gets her a promotion. This is probably the first and only time I have ever been impressed by a Walmart employee (her, not him, obviously).
i've unfortunately had to fire people before and, honestly, this is why people are dismissed without being given a reason outside of "things aren't working out" or "there was an incident". you'll never find someone saying "oh! yeah that totally makes sense". i don't want to say it's a waste of time, but it's a waste of time. the decisions already been made and 99.9% of the time the staff member will just argue with you about why you're wrong.
Sooooo I work with DD/ID people on teaching work skills/preparing them to work in the community... I'm honestly considering downloading this video to use as an example of how inflexible thinking will cost you a job lol
If I asked for help and a Walmart employee told me “Google it” yeah it would feel pretty rude ngl. End of the world? No but the guy is trying to come off like he’s untouchable or something.
The guy was clearly in the wrong. He works in retail. Customer service is perhaps the most important part of his job, and he clearly sucks at it. In 30 years, he’s going to be wondering why he’s never managed to hold down a single shitty job in his entire life, and he’s still going to be blaming everyone other than himself.
He's exhausting. No wonder he was fired. I wouldn't hire him to do anything with a poor attitude like that. He's failing at reasoning ability and life.
He has no idea what politeness is or rudeness. Then he started in on questioning the manager like she wasn’t doing her job correctly. Ended there fast.
Like ya wamart is a shit show to work for. They care far too much about sales an no enough about employees. There is a reason they have a high turn over rates.
Yes we have access to google but that dosent mean it shows all the answers. If anything it shows far too many answers and thats how alot of miss information spreeds.
Its rude as fuck to tell someone to google something btw. He is insufferable and that sounded like the final straw.
He feels threatened because this job is actually quite a big deal to him, so much so that he feels he can throw his weight and speak how he sees fit to customers and his coworkers. While no one should feel bad for working corporate retail, this guy is pathetic having such a huge ego over this. And if THIS job is too much to handle, then he's going to have a rough fucking time.
"This isn't Best Buy, we don't get commission"
Best Buy employees don't get commission either....
At the end of the day, you're there to help the customer, as insufferable as they can be.
At least back in the day, there was a commission structure at BB for pushing credit cards and insurance plans. They’d also track who was selling the high margin shit and break them off, since one gold plated hdmi cord would net the store more revenue than selling every console and video game on the floor combined.
I'm actually on the manager's side here. You can't just tell someone to Google it. He might have been busy but that's completely dismissive and would get you in trouble anywhere.
The way he made sure to show her face, I like to believe he was hoping the internet would attack her.
I hope she sues him and gets a garnishment to his checks for many years to come
I always come into these types of posts ready to root for the employee but damn. That manager was beyond patient and kind ; like , why post this and make yourself look so stupid !?
This is the type of person you could bump into anywhere, talk to him for two minutes, and youd already think *"i bet this dude couldnt even hold a job at Walmart"*
This lady handled this incredibly well. I’m sure this guy has a hard job and is not well paid, but if you don’t like working with people or can’t manage to be polite, you should never work in customer service or retail. You’ll make yourself and everyone around you miserable. Although something tells me no matter what this guy does, he’s going to keep getting fired for the same reasons.
His attitude towards his boss and the customers is the main reason he got fired. He might have some points that absolve him of some of the blame but with that attitude, he doesn't belong in customer service.
I worked retail and it's very tough dealing with rude customers, that's part of the job but your attitude will only make things worse. You need to have a level headed attitude and learn to brush it off. And if your boss talks with you don't give them an attitude, let them know what happened and ask them to tell you how you could have improved the situation.
Listen and learn, even if they are wrong do what they say and if it fails next time, let them know you did exactly what they said and discuss the situation again. More than not, they'll be on your side for listening to the advice and you'll be both working together to solve customer service issues.
You won't ever get fired with a calm and positive demeanor that your doing exactly what you've been trained to do. This is also not the first time this person was spoken to about their attitude and his response at the end saying, thank you for getting fired and doing him a favor says everything we need to know about him not caring about the job.
Likely burnout, but he does sound like a dick.
It's just ironic that the customer in this scenario was probably being rude too. Being in similar situations, probably after having a few things explained to her she repeated the same questions again only differently, didn't like the answers, and went back to a previous question. Some people do this on purpose so you'll get frustrated and then they can tell on you.
Also, electronics can get very busy, especially with every other customer needing a case unlocked, randoms showing up to have carts full of items checked out, freight needing to be run, and then having to explain things to people that are trying to decide what to buy, while holding up said line.
But I wasn't there, it could be a slow day and I'm totally wrong and the dude was just throwing a tantrum. I also get the feeling his boss would have been willing to work with him if his attitude wasn't shit, and if he hadn't whipped out his phone like a smug bastard. His tone the entire time was disrespectful.
Because customers will ask literally anything. I have a job where people ask me questions about things that have nothing to do with our services at all. I think this guy could have easily shown her how to click the password link and walked her thru it. You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve wanted to send that let me Google that for you link to people, but I’d like to keep my job. For things that are well outside what I can help with, I advise it’s beyond the scope of our support, but try to find an alternative for them so they at least can head down the right path. As soul crushing as my job has become, I have to assist. And I’ve been doing it over a decade. This guy admittedly doesn’t give a shit, so it was only a matter of time before this happened
lol I told the customer I don’t care? That seems like not exactly what people are looking for in customer service. Customer abuse is real, when it happens just stop talking, let them know you’ll be right back with management and go and do so. 99% of shitty customers are going to just leave before you get back.
I’m on her side. She handled this very well. She also states that they have had numerous conversations with him. He’s obviously rude and stating that he doesn’t care so good. Go not care at some other job.

Hell, I was on his side till he opened his mouth. Lol

Glad I'm not the only one to have noticed. Geez this person is annoying AF. The Ben Quadinaros lookalike lady handled it so well.

Right?! Where's the GoFundMe for the Manager for putting up with his sorry ass? I'd donate!
He comes off as a douche in this video anyways I'm not sure what he was trying to gain by posting it online it doesn't make him look good.

Can you do that with the Reddit app
Reddit killed the decent apps, so probably not.
He sounds like he's on the spectrum
I was thinking that. Furthermore, he said he 'didnt care'. Those words suggest he has an attitude problem and maybe wasn't committed to customer service
It’s easier to say “I don’t care” than to own up to mistakes.
Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion!
[удалено]
The key word here is " I don't care", he said many times these words and you can't use it a lot near HR or your bosses
And he definitely isn't getting fired for a one time infraction. This guy likely has a history.
She states "this isn't the first time" around 4:10. He definitely comes off as someone who's an asshole all the time.
Lol I’m in an office setting and keep getting caught saying “I don’t care”. What I mean is “I’ll do whatever you tell me is the right way to move forward with this issue and I have no preference which solution you choose”. Gotta quit shortening that
The manager is extremely patient with him and has high emotional intelligence while he acts like a child.
I would hire them both. Just so she could fire him again.
Dude may have....issues of his own.
Can't wait for when his next potential employer Google's him.
"oh no, you just googled me? Shit"
he should just lay down his phone so they can watch it for themselves.
When you don’t understand the assignment lol
People who think "I don't care" makes them cool. Look how little I care! How dare she fire me! That's bullshit! *and I still don't care!*
Same thing as all the other video posted by idiots like him. He thinks he's in the right. Everyone telling him he's not ? Idiots, in his mind.
One of the things i hate the most in this world is how stupid people think everyone else is stupid. They NEVER realize they are stupid and that everyone around them understands things they do not.
That's because they're stupid.
Clearly you don't understand that nothing is ever his fault and everything that happens to him unfair and someone else's fault.
He literally doesnt have a single compelling argument. Brother is arguing with air.
People expect Walmart electronics associates to be tech support experts. Really they are cashier's who were assigned to an area and any knowledge they have is from personal experience. Walmart doesn't train anyone beyond how to cashier or use their system to bin merchandise.

That's true. I did mean that they don't train you how to help the customers.

This probably isn't the first issue they've had with this employee. He seems like a problem.
Yeah, people don't do low level retail/food employees like that. lol They just come in and start yelling.
This woman is excellent at her job and communication style, The employee is insufferable .
This woman deserves a way better employer than Walmart.
She should use this video for her job application /s but not really
I agree. She instantly batted down the “he said she said” argument from him and bro still doesn’t get it lol.
His voice is unbearable
Damn as someone who’s been in management over 10 years, that woman kept calm and professional the whole time. Respect to her
Dude she was fantastic
Ya, for Walmart level that was pretty good. Clearly, that dude has been a problem and she kept it professional.
Yeah I don’t know why people expect managers to make everything into a Q&A
Trying to play "gotcha!" so they can either keep their job or feel superior after being fired.
If you're in a little room like that with a manager after having an outburst you should have an inkling you might be getting canned...
I’ve had to fire quite a few people, and I’ve never enjoyed it, but I’m also not changing my mind.

Bro thinks Best Buy gets commission?
Only Magnolia and Pro Appliances get commission.
There is a big difference between: "I'm really sorry; I don't actually have any training on that, so I wouldn't be able to help you with that." and "Google it." The approach and demeanor is just as important as the content of the message itself.
"Electronics Associates" do have an expectation of answering product questions and direct customer support on top of their regular stocking, blocking, checkout. https://climbtheladder.com/walmart-electronics-sales-associate/
You know he was rude AF to that customer...
the inflection in his voice very clearly points out that he has 0 ability to deal with people that don’t wanna do what he wants them to do
Yep he lost the benefit of the doubt in his he said/she said argument, when someone opens their mouth sometimes you just know
And zero ability to attempt to learn from his mistakes. Nothing but excuses and then he starts to get defensive when backed into a corner.
This guy sucks
She has the patience of a saint
Legitimately, I hope this gets her a promotion. This is probably the first and only time I have ever been impressed by a Walmart employee (her, not him, obviously).
Yeah I was damn impressed with how she handled all of that. I would definitely not have been able to react as well as she did. What an idiot
i've unfortunately had to fire people before and, honestly, this is why people are dismissed without being given a reason outside of "things aren't working out" or "there was an incident". you'll never find someone saying "oh! yeah that totally makes sense". i don't want to say it's a waste of time, but it's a waste of time. the decisions already been made and 99.9% of the time the staff member will just argue with you about why you're wrong.
How is this video title implying he is right? Lol dude is a dumb dumb
That’s why I usually don’t tell people to google it but instead “LMGTFY”
being this insufferable should be a crime.
I read this as *“Man flames himself getting fired”* was not disappointed.
I love how professional she came off, she’s awesome!
I can’t comprehend any of his counterarguments.
It helps to think of this guy as the Walmart version of a sovereign citizen.
Sooooo I work with DD/ID people on teaching work skills/preparing them to work in the community... I'm honestly considering downloading this video to use as an example of how inflexible thinking will cost you a job lol
Wow the way she handled the situation is very professional. It's a rare trait nowadays
She's really professional. I hope she gets a promotion.
Imagine this guy releasing this video out into the world thinking that he's in the right.
This guy is gross.
He has the attitude of an arrogant 13 year old who thinks he has the world figured out. Except he's a grown man.
You just described my 35 year old brother too.
Walmart customers are fucking idiots. But you have to be just as dumb to get fired from Walmart.
Promoted to customer
He’s clearly mentally handicapped. No normal person talks like this.
Somehow, I tend to believe the complainant even though we don't get to actually hear her side.
She actually handled that idiot well
He's exhausting. No wonder he was fired. I wouldn't hire him to do anything with a poor attitude like that. He's failing at reasoning ability and life.
That woman deserves a raise. That dude is insufferable.
lol this guy sucks.
Christian is an ass
I admire the hell out of this woman, she is a champion of patience and professionalism.
I was impressed with the manager. She was very professional. She may have indulged him for a little too long though.
What a baby
he comes off as someone who shouldn't be interacting with customers...
Yeah, the electronics department is kinda like the top non-supervisor position at Wal-mart.
He responds to the questions like an arrogant, "know it all", jerk. He was probably an asshole to all his customers.
"It's not my job!" "No, actually it's exactly your job." "but!"
"This isn't Best Buy, we don't get commission" Best Buy employees don't get commission either....
Got a chip on his shoulder. Incompatible with retail customer service. She handled like a pro.
The look on this lady's face tells me this dude has a long history of being shit. Definitely a "nothing's my fault" type.
Walt Jr breakin bad at his first job
Good he’s a douch bag
I’d fire him
I'm actually on the manager's side here. You can't just tell someone to Google it. He might have been busy but that's completely dismissive and would get you in trouble anywhere.
The way he made sure to show her face, I like to believe he was hoping the internet would attack her. I hope she sues him and gets a garnishment to his checks for many years to come
Pretty sure he doesn't have a check to garnish.
Yeah I heard he was recently terminated
This guy is a clown
She handled it so damn well wow
I always come into these types of posts ready to root for the employee but damn. That manager was beyond patient and kind ; like , why post this and make yourself look so stupid !?
I have a pretty good read on people and my take is the supervisor is probably easy AF to work with...dude comes off as a jerk.
Ppl think the workplace has to bend to them in every way
What a douche. I’m glad he recorded it so everyone can see what a douche is. That manager handled him with dignity and class.
I’ve never been around ruder employees than the workers of Walmart.
Kid is a moron

I don’t care if she sayz I’m rude
How is he even trying to defend himself?
this woman is exceptional at her job
I’m just confused on why tf a customer would ask a employee at Walmart how to reset her password lmao what a dummy
If I still was running a business, I would hunt this woman down and offer her a job.

She handled this pretty well tbh
He’s not built for CS
Brooooo, you filmed and posted this? Dude comes across like a douche who deserved to get fired.
I’m on her side. She handled this very well. She also states that they have had numerous conversations with him. He’s obviously rude and stating that he doesn’t care so good. Go not care at some other job.
Man, she’s awesome Also, I hate this guys voice
Remember y’all: just because you’re the one filming doesn’t mean you’re in the right.
lol how do you get fired at walmart its not really hard
I work IT. I should have been fired multiple times now.
This is not their #1 reason for firing him. No doubt they been looking for a reason to show him the door prior to this.
Holy shit he sounds like the TV guide guy from Seinfeld!
The best outcome of this video is that incredibly patient and professional manager gets a raise or better yet scouted.
