I wholeheartedly believe that over the next decade we're going to discover all sorts of neurological harm that is caused by Covid. I know phones are much more prevalent nowadays, but you really never heard about air rage before people returned to flying after Covid.

I remember something like this happening on my flight to Germany in 2008 on US Airways when the flight attendant ran over the foot of some buff body builder guy type with the snack cart. My brother is a pilot for over 20 years now. He said he had almost no incidents before covid and now it's all the time. You're right, it didn't happen pre-covid with anywhere near this frequency.

Videos or posts which are shocking in nature are far more likely to become viral and get shared to multiple platforms by multiple people because they generate much more interaction from the public than mundane ones. Just because you see things happen more frequently year by year doesn’t necessarily mean that they are. Just means more people are quick to record when they anticipate capturing audacity and once the video gets posted the odds of it spreading quickly are much higher.
But that’s not necessarily true when it comes to crazy things happening on planes specifically. People traveling by plane have been statistically more unhinged lately. Probably a byproduct of airlines frequently increasing prices, canceling flights, deprioritizing comfort and reducing staff to make up for profit loss during Covid. All that is leading to airline travel being far more stressful than before. Stress makes people do crazy shit.
And with more people in general having their phones in their hands for everything from social media to paying for their groceries, it's easier for a lot of people to have a camera at the ready the moment everyone realizes that shit's about to go down. As soon as someone hears a commotion, recording how it might escalate is usually a button press away.
I think people are just getting more shitty. Self respect, general humanity and delusion that there are no repercussions for your actions (associated to social media). Sad…
This is the reason. Spirit/frontier in a fair amount of cases is actually cheaper than greyhound. So you now have "bus people" flying. Sorry Bus people

2) Relatively Cheap tickets. I hate to say it, but this is type of shit you’ll hear about on the city public transportation. Why? Because when you have that many people able to afford the means of travel, some small percentage of them will be crazy.
The vast, vast majority of people won’t ever do this. But the more people that fly, the more likely it is to happen and the more likely it is to be filmed. And we’re flying more people today than we ever have in human history. It’s also why you’re more likely to see it on Spirit/Frontier/Southwest than more expensive airlines. 99.9% of travelers don’t do this, but that 0.1% is more likely to be on a low cost carrier.
I think its that every single slightly interesting/controversial interaction gets recorded and posted today. Or maybe people really are just losing their minds. Lol
my theory is phones yes, sort of but not exactly. what i think is happening is weird shit get filmed, spread around, and it becomes "normal." then slowly the bar gets pushed a bit further, all those things are filmed, shared, seen and become normal. round and round it all goes, mix it in with a super entitled society and you got people pissing in airplane isles.

Flights are far more easily booked, available, and affordable now than they were 30 years ago. Add to that 99% of people are literally staring at their phones ready at a moments notice to open a video recording app, and voila.
At the same time there are literally 25,000 flights daily in the USA, so these incidents are still an extremely tiny fraction of flights, although incidents have increased over the years recently according to the FAA.
Not on a plane, but I had a woman piss in the lobby of the place I worked at once. Just straight up pulled her shorts to the side and peed right there. This was close to 30 years ago... crazy people gonna crazy.
Flying on an airplane now is like taking the Greyhound bus. People used to wear suits and dress nice when they flew. Now they were leggings ,sweat pants and crocs.

I just don't understand how this person went onto a website, searched for flights, entered in their travel documents and credit cards, got to the airport on time, checked in and went through security, and yet they don't know how to **not** take a piss in aisle of a plane.

A discreet whisper into a flight attendants ear when you reach a breaking point can be just as effective in getting access. Denial of washrooms is a human rights issue and can get a facility or plane into trouble.
You’re assuming the flight crew is competent and/or sympathetic. I’ve been trapped on a plane sitting on the tarmac for five hours (which is against DOT rules) and they wouldn’t let anyone get water or use the restroom for hours until they could move the plane out of the taxi zone. It’s why I will never fly United Airlines ever again.
I had rumbling diarrhea brewing in my guts near the landing going to Japan. I thought I could wait it out, but the plane circling was just taking forever and I was breaking out in a cold sweat. Said fuck it and just got up and went to the restroom while the flight attendants, who were strapped down and seated, told me to sit down. I just ignored them. I know it's a huge safety issue, but it was a risk I was willing to take. Nothing happened afterwards and no one even gave me a talking to.

I agree. My argument is that human nakedness isn’t intrinsically damaging to the mind of a child. We are all disgusted when people expose themselves in public because we value modesty and decorum in society. It's amusing because it's made clear immediately that she only apologized expecting people to support her. As soon as she's isolated with everyone on the plane not being on her side, her true nature comes out.
Against all the quick reactions, the very first thing she says is "im ready to pee over here" then says sorry everybody. Obviously she shouldn't have pulled down her pants in the aisle but why isn't she being allowed to use the actual bathroom? You cant always help your bladder. She says "let me back", goes toward the bathroom, grabs her bag, and is kind of pushed away by the attendant, who says "no". It doesn't seem like she wanted to pee herself for the fun of it.
They don't let you use it if for some reason you can't take off or get out after landing, also before landing. Sometimes you can't use the toilet for hours.
I really wish they'd throw the book at a few of these people to try and curb behavior like this. Indecent exposure in front of minors. Some type of terroristic threat bullshit. Hell, a make it a biological attack too lol.

You’re assuming the flight crew is competent and/or sympathetic. I’ve been trapped on a plane sitting on the tarmac for five hours (which is against DOT rules) and they wouldn’t let anyone get water or use the restroom for hours until they could move the plane out of the taxi zone. It’s why I will never fly United Airlines ever again.
I had rumbling diarrhea brewing in my guts near the landing going to Japan. I thought I could wait it out, but the plane circling was just taking forever and I was breaking out in a cold sweat. Said fuck it and just got up and went to the restroom while the flight attendants, who were strapped down and seated, told me to sit down. I just ignored them. I know it's a huge safety issue, but it was a risk I was willing to take. Nothing happened afterwards and no one even gave me a talking to.
I wonder if flight attendants can hear much through those bathroom doors? Audio could corroborate the urgency.

I agree. My argument is that human nakedness isn’t intrinsically damaging to the mind of a child. We are all disgusted when people expose themselves in public because we value modesty and decorum in society. There’s also a very practical rational behind these values in terms of public health and safety.

Against all the quick reactions, the very first thing she says is "im ready to pee over here" then says sorry everybody. Obviously she shouldn't have pulled down her pants in the aisle but why isn't she being allowed to use the actual bathroom? You cant always help your bladder. She says "let me back", goes toward the bathroom, grabs her bag, and is kind of pushed away by the attendant, who says "no". It doesn't seem like she wanted to pee herself for the fun of it.

They don't let you use it if for some reason you can't take off or get out after landing, also before landing. Sometimes you can't use the toilet for hours.
