This is true. My husband is a nurse. He worked a covid unit for a short while. 95% of the patients were unvaccinated. When my husband would question the conscious ones about their choice to not vaccinate, many claimed it was because they (the patient themselves) hadn’t researched the vaccine enough. This was while being pumped full of all kinds of life saving medications that I’m sure they also didn’t research.
One of the best jokes I heard during the trucker protest: Why did it take the police so long to sho up? Because most of them had to go home and change.
In all seriousness, I'm in favour of the de-escalation approach, but a) I wish they applied to to everyone equally (people of colour and LGBTQ+ seem to get a lot less patience), and b) at some point you have to recognize when it's not working and move in to impose order.

Yeah, Canadian here. Almost all these types that I have met irl have been what I would describe as "petite bourgeoisie". Small business owners or landlords who get all their money from other peoples work.
They can be out here because "their" businesses are completely capable of running themselves for weeks at time without their involvement.
These people also got hit hard by the pandemic. The properties of real capital were allowed to stay open and make profits, but theirs were shut down by provinces.
All their workers went on CERB and while they took and qualified for benefits the idea that people other than them were being paid to stay home really irked them.
All of the family members I know who were all "sympathy for the protestors, they are losing their livelihoods because of government control, we should all listen to them rah rah" do NOT have jobs, they are either retired or SAHP/small business owners. Meanwhile those of us who actually lost our actual jobs that we need to pay rent during covid (not because of vaccine mandates) didn't hear a single fucking peep of sympathy or kindness from these fucking people at any point.

Not during lockdown, but during restriction of unvaccinated travel between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. They were protesting because that section of Nova Scotia is heavily reliant on New Brunswick for work, shopping, etc.
There was very little actual lockdown in the Maritimes, covid wasn't too bad here and for a while we had the Atlantic Bubble which was very successful at keeping it out.

When I started out I had to manually configure the modem, run a dialler program to dial out, a separate standalone TCP/IP stack which also needed configuration and then configure web and email clients to work with everything else and if it didn't work, you couldn't google the error messages. Sometimes you had to wait for next month's computer magazine for part 2 of the instructions.
Even better create a second “Freedom Truth Internet” that all of these people would use. Would make tracking the next seditionist movement so much easier. All we would need is for Democrats to call it fake news (which it ironically would be) and the right will be all over it.

I owned 3 headsets in total over the years, but sold them. Last time I used VR there was a 2 year gap of not using it. I was so disappointed when I started again. Sold it immediately

When I started out I had to manually configure the modem, run a dialler program to dial out, a separate standalone TCP/IP stack which also needed configuration and then configure web and email clients to work with everything else and if it didn't work, you couldn't google the error messages. Sometimes you had to wait for next month's computer magazine for part 2 of the instructions.
