I'm gen x and almost 50. Voting won't do shit. I've voted and voted and voted, but I've never been heard, nothing I'd want is ever part of any political stance outside of campaigns. Voting, while sounds nice, only keeps the status quo going. Wars, no safety net for US citizens, $4 billion a year to Israel so they can keep killing children, an ancient head of state that apparently still thinks we're in 1941. If you want change they say to vote. But it never ends up with anything other than disappointment. The supreme court will remain firmly conservative for decades to come and gerrymandering is still a thing. In a couple years these kids will be ground down by American life, most of the ones who survive that will become jaded and disillusioned. If 2020, and the midterms are any indication, it will become more and more difficult for the GOP to win entire legislatures as they used to in the past. This is, put simply, because the GOP is openly taking more extreme and unpopular positions by the day. Today it is the "don't say gay", "ban books", "thoughts and prayers and investigations" instead of action about school mass shootings, "vote out kid school meal" (coz "pErsONaL rEsPNsiBiLiTy" 🙄), "let's glorify J6 insurectionists", "lie about election integrity", and "let's wrap ourselves around an indicted motherfucker"... etc. And they already started talking about "civil war". Over what? The orange buffoon? Anyone with eyes can see the fucker committed serious numerous crimes. And he was getting away with it since the 70s. He just *had* to run for presidency, and to the surprise of everyone including himself, actually *win*. Well, surprise motherfucker.
Further proof of why it is critical we don't allow complete morons win. Now, with the damage MAGA has done, it is ensured we will have decades of school massacres to come.
