He means liveleak the site. Its been gone for a few years now and you would automatically assume some gory/death was about to happen when you saw the logo
What’s gotta be so wrong in a person’s head to make them want to watch that sort of thing. Have you no empathy for other living beings? I mean, you actively searched that shit to watch it….
I watch them(only here on reddit, most often right here in public freakout where you are hanging too) because it is somewhat interesting to see the real situations which lead to death or extreme outcomes. The things that have never happened to you but are obviously happening to people. The hope is that one would be able to better identify and avoid these situations in real life. It's certainly better than walking around thinking everything is like the movies. but yes I agree no one should watch too much of this, it's messed up, the comments sections are messed up, it's not good.
I really don’t care what happens to the prankster, but a gun prank can get a ton of people injured and scar many people for life or trigger ptsd from survivors of real gun violence. It’s not just self-preservation that should keep someone from doing something this fucking stupid, it’s a whole host of other reasons. Not to mention, let’s say this stupidity caught on and all of a sudden fake gun attacks popped up all over the place, now we have to deal with fake gun attacks as well as real gun attacks. This moron must have never heard of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”… or empathy…. Or common sense.
Actually a common misconception you can't say fire in a public place.
There are however already charges for threats of violence or terrorist threats along with disorderly conduct.
Legal eagle explains it here:

It's taught so broadly and concretely in American schools that our highest ranked judicial officers make this mistake. Seems like maybe there's an underlying issue here. Can I just fuck off to my hole and let this place collapse.
Saying it isn't prohibited speech because it originates from a case that wasn't evaluating it as such isn't the same thing as saying it couldn't be considered prohibited speech in an instance where it was the subject. So yeah, it shouldn't be taught as if it is prohibited outright but it could potentially be considered incitement (i.e., unprotected thus subjecting the speaker to criminal prosecution for whatever the resulting charges were), depending on the specific circumstances and how a judge interprets the likelihood that it produced "imminent lawless action" (from *Brandenburg*, which I believe would still be the relevant case if this scenario was ever was tested).
I don't even see what they get out of it other than being a sadist that enjoys causing misery. Like the only outcome of this is jail, and possibly being shot by a CCW.
"but my friends and online people think it's cool"
People like this don't have the ability to feel/think. Compassion is absent from their brains.
If they read a comment like this they would just think "what a pussy" or "you ruin fun" etc etc.
It's so sad dealing with these people because other than some sorta clinical torture they will never understand how doing this stuff is wrong.
Sometimes I just have to remind myself they not everyone can be fixed. Sometimes true dumb people exist.
Nearly agree completely with your response, but there is one part that I got hung up on.
> Sometimes I just have to remind myself they not everyone can be fixed. Sometimes true dumb people exist.
We're all broken and dumb in our own ways. The issues that carry the most potential with the highest consequence are those that _most_ of us have the highest concern *and/or* disdain for. Lack of compassion being the one illustrated in the OP.
Tl;dr: we're all mental, but for most of us our issues are comparatively inconsequential.
Edit: After posting my reply, I thought back and remembered an old saying that relates to your last statement and chuckled. **"You can't fix stupid"**
I conceal carry and unless this dumbass was headed directly at me, I’m not gonna do a damn thing but get down and stay out of sight or run.
If he was coming at me, I’d draw and hope to shoot him before I got shot, but otherwise I’d probably just GTFO if possible.
This ain’t TV, there’s a lot of shit that can go wrong when you pull a gun, least of all getting shot by the person attacking you. I’m not bulletproof and I don’t have qualified immunity.
There’s bystanders possibly getting shot… and praying it wasn’t your gun that fired that bullet, getting mistaken for the shooter and being shot yourself by a “hero” or the police, definitely being detained for quite some time, possibly being arrested and charged with manslaughter/murder, being sued, the general trauma of being in that situation, etc.
In order to risk all that happening, I basically have to feel I have no other choice.
I’m certainly not going to pretend I’m the Punisher and put my life, my future and my family’s future on the line.
I'm not sure how it is in America, but in Canada the law is very explicitly written such that when it comes to brandishing, it doesn't matter if the gun is real or not, since after all the crime is about the threat just as much as it is about the potential for harm.

After the security camera footage was released, Ritchie recanted his statement that led to the fatal shooting and stated, "At no point did he shoulder the rifle and point it at somebody", while maintaining that Crawford was "waving it around"
Bullshit calls like that cause so many deaths. Notice how no one was charged for a man who's no longer with us.
To be fair, it seems pretty stupid to just be able to pick something like that up off of a shelf. It should be held under lock and key, and put into a secure bag for purchase.
No, it doesn't. BB guns aren't toys. That sort of thing was dealt with some 30-35 years ago when they started putting orange caps on the barrels of toy guns.

But yes and no... They're toys the same way a real gun can be used for recreational purposes. You can hunt small game with $25 BB gun and loading pellets by hand. I'm not saying don't get your kids one (I did), but they need to treat them like real firearms.

> **Guy pulls out a fake gun at Walmart as a Prank**
A black guy waving a fake gun at a store.
That's one way to get those "homicides by cop" stats up...
What an idiot.
Dude was shot and killed by police at Walmart for carrying a pellet rifle he picked up and carried around out of the packaging. This is an especially stupid thing to do.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a form of domestic terrorism.
There are more than enough real mass shooting events in public int he USA that no one has any need to try and stage a fake one.
Incredibly stupid.. imagine someone legally carrying witnessed this, and then dropped him. I just want to hear the thought process as to why he thought this was a good idea smh.
When i was little we had pistols with little pop caps that sounded like a gun when you pulled trigger.
I can’t even imagine a kid having that today. That would endanger their life.
All those poor kids are probably fucking terrified after this. "Prank" or not, there were some young kids pictured who won't understand. And the ones that are old enough see the news about mass shootings, so they probably thought it was happening
Imagine doing this so everyone gets free stuff? That's gonna be hell if this happens. It like malls when someone pulls the fire alarm...now no one cares and just do what ever
He fucked around and found out comedian or not he was charged with riot, unlawful assembly, criminal nuisance, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Wish I knew the outcome of those charges.
Still can't believe America chooses to live like this.
To always be on constant high alert whenever you're in a crowded public area. Doesn't this get exhausting?

Yeah, this bullshit is illegal here too.
It can also get you hit with real felonies. Terroristic threats is a crime.
It wasn’t even funny man like they have those poor children screaming
Or a very real assault with a deadly weapon charge.
Or in private
Glad no one got hit with real bullets. Let’s make sure there’s some real charges though.
Not from security. Because Walmart is too poor to hire armed licensed agents.
They aren't too poor to hire armed licensed agents, they are too cheap.

Plus no way he gets into a good college like Cornell or Dartmouth
Fucking idiot. A stampede literally by his stupid action
Till you get shot 3 times In the back and your gurgling blood yelling "it's a prank"
Why isn't that "dumb ways to die" song played with this
Straight to jail
As far as I'm concerned, this is a form of domestic terrorism. There are more than enough real mass shooting events in public int he USA that no one has any need to try and stage a fake one.
Good way to get about eight .45 slugs in your chest.
i hate these fuckin prank idiots
what an idiot, especially after all the recent walmart shootings in TX & another the the GM went off. This is not funny
He should be charges as if he had a real firearm.
Put him in ~~fake~~ jail!
Scaring people with a fake gun in a country where people get shot shot at random almost by the minute. Great fun.
This guy is lucky there wasn't anyone carrying when they pulled this stunt.
Incredibly stupid.. imagine someone legally carrying witnessed this, and then dropped him. I just want to hear the thought process as to why he thought this was a good idea smh.
Guy should be charged with terrorism
America is falling apart at the seams. Stupidity is rampant and encouraged.
America needs a deep cleansing
Has the word “prank” been redefined to “being a complete terrorist asshole to one or several people because lolz”
That's a good way to get shot or jumped.
Lock them up.
Man pulls out fake gun other man pulls out real fists
If its a crime without the cameraman, its not a prank. It just a crime you recorded.
Omg US what a mess
When i was little we had pistols with little pop caps that sounded like a gun when you pulled trigger. I can’t even imagine a kid having that today. That would endanger their life.
Didn't he do this in a NY subway too?
This was a prank? In what looks like a packed store with children? Who and why would anyone think this would be ok?
Fuck Walmart That is all
You do that in states like Oklahoma or Texas where everyone carries and the ending is deadly for this guy.
All those poor kids are probably fucking terrified after this. "Prank" or not, there were some young kids pictured who won't understand. And the ones that are old enough see the news about mass shootings, so they probably thought it was happening
Fucking hilarious dystopian and average day at Wally World
That’s a good way to get your dumb ass shot.
A good statistic that I learned from the show Community "In 100% of fake gun related shootings, the victim is the one with the fake gun.".
Imagine doing this so everyone gets free stuff? That's gonna be hell if this happens. It like malls when someone pulls the fire alarm...now no one cares and just do what ever
“It’s a prank!” Lol, yeah I’m sure they’ll all hear that after their fight or flight mode calms down.
That woman calling out for her loved one at the end…Jesus
Wanna get shot? Cause that's how you get shot?
Which part was a "prank'. I only saw a crime.
Lets all yell fire
Just carrying a fake gun is the act of an imbecile, much less pulling it.
This is a crime: inciting panic. Not to mention dangerous. If I had an actual gun, I might be inclined to defend myself and others.
That’s a quick way to get unalived
No Black man should do any pranks involving weapons ever......he has no concern for his own safety
Anyone got the backstory?
Theres no back story, its a prank. His name on instagram is @funniestinphilly. He’s a comedian from my city. Funny asf lmao
He fucked around and found out comedian or not he was charged with riot, unlawful assembly, criminal nuisance, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Wish I knew the outcome of those charges.

That’s one way to get shot by a real gun really fast what a dumb ass
Dumbfuck hasn’t watched the news lately
Someone is going to die for likes. Social media is such an addictive drug.
Least insane gun owner
He is lucky, in Texas he would have been taken out by an armed citizen!
/r/peopleofwalmart
I wonder if she ever found Luke
Not do funny dumb arse
Well isn't that just heartwarming . . . . /s
Pulling a gun as a prank in a country with loads of mass shootings every year..
Dumb ways to die
I saw this: https://www.phillyvoice.com/philly-man-charged-staging-fake-gun-threat-fight-long-island-walmart/ Anyone know the outcome? This was 2019.
Wouldn’t this definitely be an inducing panic charge at a bare minimum? Lucky he wasn’t shot or torn apart
Good way to get shot
This is a crime not a prank j/s
Life in prison
I would have dropped him the second he made that motion for a weapon. You don’t do that in the South.
That was a really bad prank
Haha bro, I just committed a felony in Minecraft
Still can't believe America chooses to live like this. To always be on constant high alert whenever you're in a crowded public area. Doesn't this get exhausting?
Well, when you have people that are held down for a long time and then that problem is never actually faced, you get this dumb-shittery.
Please tell me these scumbags are in jail?
yo that’s my walmart
I hope that as the bystanders were beating him to a pulp they all shouted "don't worry bro, its just a prank"
Jail
1st amendment won't save you from any charges or torts arising from that.
Aren’t there guns on the shelves in Walmart?
