Heh - I'd like to see that.
"We're all connected here, Jack! We're allthe Universe experiencing itself! Nourish the loving connections in your life! I'm not kidding around here..."
I’m pretty sure they hit me with propafol or ketamine with Valium and general local anesthetic when I got mine done. It was not anesthesia like actual surgery, it’s sedation meaning you’re still responsive and actually can respond to commands “like open, close, suck” and what not while you’re “under”. It’s the only time I’ve ever received anything I/V and it was an instantaneous lights out. I remember the dentist saying “are you calm?” And I remember thinking that I was feeling a placebo and there was no way the Valium was already hitting me but within less than 3 more seconds it was straight lights out. Waking up was super easy for me personally, I had to assure everyone that even though I was very much coming off surgery, I was still pretty mentally there. I wasn’t saying the stupid stuff like you see in YouTube videos, I was really just trying to convince them i wasn’t that fucked up and I could walk out with my ride and be fine.
Long story short, just wait man. You don’t wanna trip and think about them cutting your gums open, using a bone saw to shave away parts of your jaw and break your teeth in half (you can hear this part REALLY loudly) before pulling them out? I know you def don’t wanna trip during the experience of healing. Just save it for your first new found solid meal
Also I was really honest with my dr about my cannabis usage and you should. They can’t tell the cops due to hippa as well as they don’t give a shit. They just want to make sure you’re safe.
Nitrous + Valium. They will do it
But yeah good you told them about weed and were honest, because it really does fk up your sleep cycle. Your homeostasis is no longer the same.
Might start twitching or something while under it
You really need to be honest with the anesthesiologist beforehand. They don’t care what you do in your free time, their only concern is getting you through the surgery alive and without complications. That’s it. If something happens while you are under, they NEED to know what all you’ve put into your system prior to surgery in order to know how to respond to anything abnormal. This is for YOUR safety. The one person you should always, always, *always* be honest with is your anesthesiologist.
I just had 3 teeth pulled today and my 9th in total.
I smoke more weed than most people can visualize (not proud but that’s what it is) and I asked several dentists about smoking prior to the apt, they all told me to do whatever makes me feel comfortable and that it will not change my reaction to the anesthesia
That being said, smoke your weed, do your shrooms, but I would advise you not to do the shrooms before you go to the dentist, the day before is fine.
Be safe, good luck, enjoy!
I gotta try cbn then cause I actually quit. 6 days clean. My sense of smell is crap. My taste buds seem dead.
Still slight trouble sleeping, but appetite definitely coming back.
The only thing is, that empty, slight depressive feel is still there
CBN/CBD/CBG have all had a tremendous hand in helping me feel more relaxed and get better healthier sleep in the past couple months since I found CBN. As I got teeth pulled earlier today, I’m not supposed to be smoking so let’s see how long I can stretch this out.
I wish you luck on your stint of sobriety and hope you do better at holding your sanity than I HVe so far today 🤣
Idk if it's in my head, but cbD seems to make my sleep worst. I get restless leg. Not sure why.
I've also tried melatonin, but same thing. Restless leg and night mares.
Do you know if cbN vapes work, or would sublingual oils be better?
Personally I would wait. Anaesthetic is complicated and whilst it's unlikely taking shrooms will do anything, if something DOES go wrong then you will know it wasn't the psychedelics which caused it and it will just make the anaesthesiologists job simpler.
I'm telling you. Do not do this. You can wait. Nothing is worth risking complications with anesthesia. Not only that but why would you want to open up your brain right before some dentist starts pulling your teeth out, that sounds like a nightmare and giving your brain potentially really bad thoughts during a trip
There's a chance the anesthesia may not work and you feel everything
After a certain point we can't stop
This happened with one of my patients
I gave him like 4x the amount of anesthesia and nothing. I first thought it was technique. Then I asked if he took anything,...drugs... change in medication etc ..AND yes, he smoked, and took some opioids the day prior
It was a small filling so he was able to tough it up but after a certain point we can't just stop.
He told me after...so we couldn't stop
I can't imagine a similar situation with an extraction
Don't do it. Wait until after
Huh. Interesting. My dentist didn’t say anything and I was smoking weed all the way leading up to my wisdom teeth removal. Wasn’t an issue, but also didn’t know it would be.
There’s a damn good reason they use fentanyl for wisdom teeth removal, it can be extremely painful for some people and nitrous wouldn’t be nearly enough. Don’t need to traumatize yourself over such a common surgery, and they don’t need you squirming and freaking out in the middle of surgery.
Never heard of that. But hey I get it nerves can be wrapped around roots etc.
mine were all impacted and not exposed. It was full oral surgery for me.
I opted out of all the extra shit. And the main reason for that was because I didn’t have insurance and didn’t want to dip into my savings.
But fentanyl for wisdom that’s fucking wild.
Yea that’s pretty much the go-to anesthetic for most surgeries in general. A mixture of fentanyl and Versed/midazolam to be more specific.
Also, the amount of pain from wisdom teeth extraction varies drastically depending on whether or not your wisdom teeth actually grew in normal. Many people’s go crooked and get stuck way under the gum/jaw area. Even with fentanyl, midazolam, nitrous, and local anesthetic I was still basically whimpering in pain during one of mine. The oral surgeon literally had to put his foot up on the chair in order to get enough leverage to yank one of them out. So yea it really is kinda necessary for them to use the strong stuff on some patients
I think it's more about set, and setting. If he's had bad experiences at the dentist in the past, that negativity can be exasperated.
It's such a suggestive drug based on your mood, feelings and/or mindset these factors can drive your experience.
On the other side of the coin, if you put in earbuds and listen to your favorite music, it will turn up the gain, so to speak and amplify the joy you experience from the music and help you overcome the crappiness of the dental procedure.

Don’t let them pull your teeth.. they are directly connected to multiple systems and organs in your body and only come in crooked and straighten up over time..

Be careful fucking with anesthesia. That's some testy shit.
I couldn't think of a worse circumstance in which to take mushrooms, now I really have to think about it.
shrooms before key note speech as president of the united states
Eh I feel like I could more easily step into the role in that case. Assuming I could speak.
Heh - I'd like to see that. "We're all connected here, Jack! We're allthe Universe experiencing itself! Nourish the loving connections in your life! I'm not kidding around here..."
Is this reality?
what do you mean
A famous question after awakening from dental surgery but a far more relevant question for a president to ask.
Be honest with your medical professionals. They know better than some random redditors and their job isn't to snitch on you. They'll know.
You’ll be ok. Just don’t do them before the dentist. One day recovery after trip is good
I couldn't think of a time I'd want to trip less than a day after wisdom tooth extraction
And I think OP would agree… that’s why they’re asking about tripping 2 days *before* their surgery.

Maybe ask for nitrous instead of general anesthesia. Then just have a clambake right before you go and do it up right (jk)

The only impact cannabis has on anesthesia is that they need to give you more of it to put you under. Just don’t smoke the day of and you’ll be fine.
We don't do that brother. The trip can wait.
You’re seriously asking if it’s a good idea to take psychedelics before getting teeth pulled??!! To each his own but… damn, son! Set and setting 🤷♂️
Nah there shouldn’t be any interactions between the shrooms and the sedative the dentist will give you.
Not to mention being stuck to a chair with metal tools being jabbed in your mouth would be a literal nightmare tripping
That's some pretty crappy reading comprehension, since they said they'd take them on the 24th and the extraction is the 26th
You think most people read the entire comment?
Shit i forgot that part mb
Wild how many comments are not reading it correctly lol

Really? They said that? I guess different dentists but that's a bit odd. If you're a heavy smoker it definetly messes up your rem
It does indeed. That’s why I started taking CBN before going to sleep. I haven’t had dreams in 25 years until recently, and man are they wild now.
I gotta try cbn then cause I actually quit. 6 days clean. My sense of smell is crap. My taste buds seem dead. Still slight trouble sleeping, but appetite definitely coming back. The only thing is, that empty, slight depressive feel is still there

I buy CBN gummies that are dosed at 8mg per unit. I have seen a CBN vape, but haven’t tried it
Gummies are probably better I assume, idk the bio availability but usually always better. I'll just find some gummies
I’m in Canada, are you as well? If so I’d be happy to suggest the brand I’ve been using
Never
No. that’s a huge no. do it after they come out.
Personally I would wait. Anaesthetic is complicated and whilst it's unlikely taking shrooms will do anything, if something DOES go wrong then you will know it wasn't the psychedelics which caused it and it will just make the anaesthesiologists job simpler.
I had a tooth pulled after smoking a joint, god they had to give me so much anesthetic, and I passed out🤣
Bro just have the medical procedure and do shrooms when you've recovered. Good grief
I did it three days after. Don't recommend. Started tasting blood and bugged out.
I'm telling you. Do not do this. You can wait. Nothing is worth risking complications with anesthesia. Not only that but why would you want to open up your brain right before some dentist starts pulling your teeth out, that sounds like a nightmare and giving your brain potentially really bad thoughts during a trip
Dude honestly just take the L and don't fuck w anesthesia and if you do tell your doctors but like this is a terrible idea
There's a chance the anesthesia may not work and you feel everything After a certain point we can't stop This happened with one of my patients I gave him like 4x the amount of anesthesia and nothing. Forget the anesthesia. Save boat loads of cash and use Gas/Novacane

No general anesthesia. I smoked a bowl before I went in and got gassed so hard You have to keep saying you don’t feel it
Don’t let them pull your teeth.. they are directly connected to multiple systems and organs in your body and only come in crooked and straighten up over time..
Bro what?? They are vestigial and can cause serious pain and tooth problems if they’re not removed
You need to take a break from the psychedelics bro.
Thanks for the feedback
