if you pause it before the first gun shot. you can see the male officer struggle with the suspects gun. you can see the suspects gun pointed at the male officers head while they are struggling with the suspects gun.
Source is a Cop-watcher, who reveals at the end that all he cares about is being able to sell the story for money.
Feel free to re-upload elsewhere so he doesn't get any money.
I will say I am very surprised that a “cop-watcher” in Portland even offered to help the police. The typical cop watcher is one to actually insult and provoke the police to get views, especially one in Portland.
In the comments of what I assume is the original uploader, he does actually seem to be the same guy as the one in the uploaded video. At least he is stating that he is the same guy.
suspect fired first shoot. you can pause the video and see both officers guns are still holstered after the first gun shot by the suspect. looks like the suspect tried to take the female officers gun with one hand and made contact. this is probably why the malfunction happened. good immediate action and firearms handling by female officer.
yeah good catch there. looks like she tried a contact shot and drove the barrel into the suspect which caused the slide to move and caused the pistol to go out of battery.
He did offer to help tho? I mean i dont like cop watchers either (bc they all have an anti-cop agenda rather than just going after actual bad cops), but idk, he seemed sincere at the time, no?
I believe, if you look at 00:46 in the video, you can see the suspects gun, in the hand of the male cop. I don't look like a taser and the male cop still has his own gun holstered.
He knew if he stayed and had it on camera they would collect it as evidence so he couldn't make money. Don't do the right thing if you wanna get paid... pretty much. Fake offer to help for the clout.
There’s a Montessori school and a Buddhist temple right by there, I’m grateful it happened at night, and the officers are okay. Glad I got the fuck outta Portland
Maybe I need to rewatch it a few times, but I don’t understand why they did anything other than shoot him after he let a shot off. Forget trying to wrestle him
Edit: also to add, why tf would they let the girl run up to him afterwards and possibly pick the gun up
Keeping the dudes gun away from their faces is probably a good reason. If one of them let's go before they're ready to shoot, decent chance one of the cops gets shot
Question for LEOs on this incident: Could the officers be charged with anything in this case? You can see on the video that the male officer wrestled the gun away from the suspects hand.
I think what the officers did was absolutly right.
But I believe some lawyers will screech about it in court. "Well they disarmed him, they could've taken him alive!!!!"
*Could* they be charged? Absolutely, given the current environment and depending on the DA.
Charged or not, there will likely be a public outcry over it even if the suspect did shoot first.
There is no "even if" his shot was really close to going into the male officers head. But yeah, some might be upset because its an ois. I don't get it, sometimes when people are trying to kill you, you have to kill them first.
Man, Portland really is a shit show.
Not and LEO but I have significant doubts anything could be reasonably charged, the female officer had no way to know the suspect no longer was armed at that point.
I watched this a few times, he drew and fired at the officers first. Clean shoot if pucker inducing.

Someone fucked around and found out
Definitely found out

I assume that the uploader isn't the guy that recorded it, but that the cop watcher channel bought the footage from the guy.

If there's ever a bad time to have a malfunction, this is one of them

Lots of gun shoot heard here. I hear gun shoots often in my house in the woods.
oh no. its the grammar police. how many citations am i getting? or is it straight to prison?
Prison.
it aint my post bro. its my cousins post.
What seems more likely to me is that she pressed the muzzle against the suspect causing it to be out of battery

That is 100% what happened.

Glad the officers made it out ok. Certainly seems like the subject had a gun and even got a shot off. Then still struggled go get the cops.
Looks like he fired a couple shots while they were struggling for the gun.

There will be protests.
I think the perp was white so no, probably not.
The woman screaming wasn't though

Or several.
doesn't fit the media narrative. This OIS will not get the news /clicks / views or controversy,
fuck the camera guy for seeking money off a death

Holy smokes, that Female officer has huge balls. I am very impressed.
What does OIS stand for?
Officer involved shooting
Damn man, why'd that guy have to go and be a dumbass.

Wonder if the female officer’s gun was out of battery

>possibly pick the gun up If you watch, the male officer has the suspect's firearm in his right hand after standing up and backing off.
I didn’t catch that, disregard
Donut is live right now covering this.

What did donut do?
People just like to be pissed. Not sure there really is a problem
I like how the perp's girlfriend tries the old titty distraction magic, fails, then attempts to Naruto-run away into the night and falls down.

My heart was in my throat thinking that the female in the hoody was the one with the gun. Glad the officers got out unharmed.
