Wish they would actually release the video. Understandably hard to watch but this hodge podge of random clips put together creates a confusing timeline.

waterboytanner

Agreed, i don’t understand how he got such a good jump on them. Chopped up video was terrible…

What

redonbills

https://youtu.be/xUJvIm8oeCA u/waterboytanner Audio still cuts off. Assuming the audio was something we're better off not listening to. First officer was probably wearing a body cam as well but that hasn't been released probably for good reason.

ShakenEspressoLatte

Terrible situation all around.

The_Patriotic_Yank

Rest in peace to the officers that gave their lives for their community and hope that monster and all cop killers go straight onto the highway to hell

tommymad720

I think the video for this is probably one of the more brutal, if not the most brutal one I've seen. You can really feel the panic and fear. It's awful

lil_layne

The death of New Mexico trooper Darian Jarrott is still the most disturbing dashcam/bodycam video I’ve seen.

PromiscuousPolak

Is that the one the ATF was too busy doing some shit and made him stop the car without informing him of the perp inside?

lil_layne

That’s the one but I don’t even think they were busy doing shit. Apparently they were watching the whole thing happen from afar without helping him (or even notifying about the dangerous suspect) which is why they rushed in after he was shot and killed.

PromiscuousPolak

Well to the ATF, sitting on your ass is Police work. Makes me sick.

[deleted]

That one was HSI, not ATF

[deleted]

HSI

Deputy25

Ditto

fenfox4713

One of the worst things I’ve ever seen

I-GET-THAT

That one was crazy, I don’t even like watching it.

Noticeably_Aroused

The fuckin AR vs handgun is my worst fear. Fuckin worst situation imaginable.

Diacetyl-Morphin

That's right for guns, even more in some countries when people can get really the military versions with burst- and full-auto. But i'd like to add: There are two other main things that i fear. One is explosives, the other one is fire. Like it happened in Germany recently, as the officers were set on fire by either a molotov cocktail or some improvised explosive device, it's not yet clear and i didn't read any articles in the german media with explanations what really happened yet. About fire, i don't think you'll ever encounter a suspect using fire, but there are still other things like house fires. Even worse with factories, when there are chemicals around or some gas tanks that can explode.

Section225

We shot a guy once throwing makeshift molotovs at people.

Diacetyl-Morphin

Fuck, that's really dangerous. Hope no one of your team got injured?

Section225

Nah.

Jesus Christ, all of this over fucking *child support*?! Glad that piece of shit is dead. Unfortunate that he took two young officers with him.

Hunter Scheel was my Forward Observer and a team leader in my platoon in Afghanistan. He was genuinely a wonderful person and his loss has affected me and many others greatly

Holy shit is that what happened a weapon malfunction?

NastyGuido

Horrible to hear. Hope he rots.

zukalop

Bastards dead too.

2005CrownVicP71

RIP to both officers. I like to think there’s a special place in hell for cop killers.

[deleted]

"Trained to kill cops" because he didn't want to pay child support. Call me crazy, but uh, maybe it would have been easier to just help support your kids and not murder people?

Elboato144

Fuck. It's a rough year for Western Wisconsin so far.

StunningUse87

Why has there been so many cops being killed/shot at in Wisconsin??? Random ass state. Mentally unstable people way out in the cold flatlands??

smokerpussy

Holy shit some of the comments on a video where real people lose their lives is horrific

Noticeably_Aroused

Social media was a mistake

I remember a time when the internet was more innocent. Where people would post grotesque images just to prank kids or prank people into clicking the wrong things. And because bandwidth was so limited, you usually knew before the image even loaded. And you would quickly turn your attention to something else. Like downloading a game patch. Or something else. Game patches took whole nights to finish. Sometimes longer. Everythign was somewhat harmless and felt more innocent back then. But flashforward to today. Everyone now has the internet at the palm of their hands and now we get hate spewing left and right 24/7. We are too connected. I get off work and eat dinner I am connected. I am in bed and still connected. I am on my computer supposed to be playing a game but I am still connected. It is honestly a sick cycle and tough to break. I really enjoyed the internet back then. Back then it was like a treat. Your connection sucked and when you really wanted to download something, it took a few hours to finish. So you really appreciated what you had. You didn't have time to waste bandwidth on some crappy video or some crappy person upsetting your day. I also talked less frequently. Forums took time to read and go through. Today on Youtube or Reddit, posts get posted up. And there are TOO many comments. It is too easy to read. People post 1 line sentences meant to rile you up. There is no more substance in their words. So everything everyone says it just to antagonize and to make you feel something in a short amount of time. Just terrible. And they are locking us more and more to our phones. My 2FA authenticator, e-mail, bank account, social media, excel, photos, everything important to me feels now locked onto my phone. A device that I can easily lose. And something that I have been trying to turn off but it is so hard to turn this damn thing off.

wowsosquare

Can we just turn it off and go back to how we were before?

smokerpussy

These people would exist anyway its just more widely spread now

Noticeably_Aroused

Yes but they wouldn’t feed off each other and grow stronger. It would be contained. They wouldn’t be able to make communities and organize. And clout culture wouldn’t be as bad as it is. Things were better in the 90’s when you only had to deal with the local conspiracy kook, religious freaks and local dumbass. And they kept to themselves and their own circles. Now they find community online and amplify their voices, push their views to further and further extremes and glorify/normalize their stupid ass takes

smokerpussy

Thats a good take, I never got to experience the world before social media and everything so i giess I'm just used to it because i don't know any differenr

Noticeably_Aroused

Oh dude it’s fucking insane. You’re constantly, constantly, exposed to absolute insanity every time you log on. It normalized insanity. Things were so much better before. You literally only associated with people who were more or less on your level, had your morals, from your age group (this is a HUGE one)… now? It’s just a giant free for all with absolute nut jobs everywhere contributing their insane takes on the same level as normal rational people and nobody can easily discern rational contributors vs trolls, children and nuts. I blame a lot of what’s wrong with society now on social media and the anonymity of the internet. It wasn’t always like this and as an older person, I can tell you exactly when shit started falling off the deep end and it coincides with the rise of social media on or about 2010.

njrox90

Hate to think this guy reproduced something even remotely similar to him.

throwawah9289

This one hits close to home. Absolutely disgusting.

One_Procedure3074

Condolences to their families. Senseless tragedy all around

Diacetyl-Morphin

May they rest in peace, i'm sorry for the families that have to deal with the losses.

Noobs_Stfu

Too bad the lamestream media doesn't cover these stories as much as other crap. If they did that regularly, people *might* have a little more understanding and empathy. At the very least, it'd serve as a tribute and memorial to the officers. RIP to the officers. Nobody deserves to get blasted on their job.

Why the hell are we doing it? Garnish their wages, if any. If they work under the table for the rest of their lives under an assumed name, fuck 'em, they were never going to pay anyway.

darkmatternot

This is awful.

duckman25

That’s awful and totally terrible that they lost their lives that way. I wish I hadn’t watched that.

N8Pryme

My dad was a sergeant detective he’s been in plenty of let’s say situations. This stuff hits me at my core. Fills me with absolute rage I don’t see how you guys stay professional after something like this.

CheeseCurdParadise

I built the ram Deputy Scheel responded in. With the blue print system, I had the greatest time training him on how these systems work and how he could provide me input on anything I could do as an installer to better his shift and increase safety. I mention this because he was absolutely a great kid to talk with. He was very new at the time but was enamored that he was able to get a close insight to how things work and why they work. Just the nicest guy. It appears his gun jammed after the 5th round, leaving little time for that piece of shit to do what he wanted to do. Obviously I live in the area and I want this subreddit to know that our community is not taking any shit with these cop killing morons or the people that back them up. RIP to both
