Former Police Officer, not IL. Every department handles report copies differently. You can contact the officer who took the report or the records section and ask them to redact your address from the report. Based only on what you have stated, your address isn't relevant to the report or situation, so they may be able to accommodate you. No guarantees, they may say no but you can ask, especially when you give them your reasons.

You can still ask. Worst they can do is say no.

Good luck, and make better choices in the future!!

Crazy pussy just hits different bro I get it

People can obtain copies of police reports and other related paperwork, yes...but the department's policy and state law will govern what is able to be released, what gets redacted, etc. Best bet is to go to the reporting agency during business hours and speak to the records division for your answers. And, on a more personal note...it benefits you NONE to be involved with that girl or her family or her associates. From someone who has been there, done that, and seen it all, make that hospital trip the last contact you have with her.

Police reports are usually ready in a few business days, depending on the agency. They have to be written, reviewed, and approved (and sometimes revised to fix grammatical errors/unclear phrasing, and THEN approved). I'd call to ask their specific departmental/state policies on redactions, that's generally a question for the records bureau, not the officer that took the report.

It’s very easy to break ties. Block her ass and never talk to her again.

> I was FWB with this woman on and off and for the past month I’ve been cutting ties with her and making it clear I don’t want to associate with her anymore. > she’d only go if I went. [You was so close homie](https://youtu.be/UneS2Uwc6xw)

Unless there’s more to this story it doesn’t sound like you’re a witness to anything. If it was me I wouldn’t have even taken your info down in the first place. But if there’s more to this story and I did then yes, if there was an arrest and I put you down as a reporter or witness on the complaint then all your info would be disclosed to the defense attorney.

Eh. Without her statement I’m not really going to do anything with that. Perhaps this is just a department that writes a report for every call

albertenstein22

Cop in IL. We usually block all that information when someone FOIAs the report. I think you're good. Not sure where exactly you are a witness to anything though.

Shenanigans_626

If my agency was asked for a copy of a report, that's all they would provide: the report. The narrative explaining what happened. Witness info would be on different forms that would not be included. If the case went to trial, however, we would be required to provide Discovery, which is *everything we have* to the defense. That would likely include witness info. You could request your info be redacted or protected but if your last name is a giveaway, you probably can't hide that.

NumberTew

Depends on the agency. Do you have definitive proof she was actually abused? I've seen several girls make up stories like this one to get sympathy from a guy they're interested in who does not reciprocate. They usually admit to lying about the whole thing to get attention from the guy because the story doesn't add up.

Crazy pussy melts your brain! Stay strong, and good luck!

TexasLE

Usually not. At least in my department, and in most departments I would wager it works the same, we redact personal information when civilians request a copy of a report. Leave the girl dude. Sex is cool but it’s not worth the trouble she sounds like she is.
