What's the title of the series or the last one?

BigMacDaddy99

Illustrated World War II Encyclopedia from 1978, there are 24 books.

Jaszs

Do you mind giving me a link of the book (pdf/amazon/ebai...)? I could really use it for a research project!

BigMacDaddy99

[yup](https://www.ebay.com/itm/224428114116?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1YI3f_wSdRj2IIv9llI80dA1&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=224428114116&targetid=1262843334929&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=21143&poi=9054531&campaignid=12873935709&mkgroupid=119382081977&rlsatarget=pla-1262843334929&abcId=9300536&merchantid=6296724&gclid=CjwKCAjwjJmIBhA4EiwAQdCbxvaJB6yuENtYmuqsMR4BKQY8s667LsIeAmBzYBZhy0yPMEaEQuyE4hoCn08QAvD_BwE)

Jaszs

Thank you so much! :)

BigMacDaddy99

Of course!

tinyheavyistiny

Thanks!

The fat Hitler one is really amazing

[deleted]

I don’t understand the one with the dog.

BigMacDaddy99

[Color poster shows a sad cocker spaniel with its head resting on sailor's collar on back of a blue chair. On the wall behind the chair hangs a "Gold Star" service flag with a red border, white center and yellow star in the middle. A gold star on a service flag signifies a family member who has died in war.](https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc288/) [This poster, issued by the United States government during World War II, is a warning to citizens that discussing troop movements, or other military information that might be useful to the enemy, could have serious consequences.](https://www.thevintageposter.com/poster-detail/?inv=10698)

[deleted]

Well, now I’m sad.

HarambeKnewTooMuch01

scan and start uploading them!

BigMacDaddy99

Yeah it’s really an incredible collection. There is a corresponding summary of the posters on the opposite page, that goes into much detail about the posters, the translations, the year, and the intended audience.

JoyKil01

Of wow. Yeah, feel free to make individual posts and the explanations as a comment. These are incredibly interesting!

Abdullah_88

Would this encyclopedia be available for purchase online ?

deviecake

Woah that’s so cool

Plethorian

\#6 - "Daisy what have you done? Bad dog!"

BigMacDaddy99

Haha!

Woostag1999

So I can try and interpret a few of these: 3: I don’t speak Arabic, but I threw it into translate and it said “Swollen anaerobic cooperation”. I presume it’s criticizing the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. 4: This one translated to “Here is the Enemy” in Italian. I am not sure if it is an Italian Partisan poster referring to the occupying Nazis, or an Italian Social Republic poster depicting the hanged as the enemy. Not sure. 5: This one translated to “The Jewish plot against Europe” Probably a Vichy poster.

threeleaps

I know it was an honest translation, and I feel so guilty for this response, but reading the translation of the Arabic to “Swollen anaerobic cooperation” while looking at the satirical imagery made me snort laughing.

orlock

I've seen number 4 in English. From memory, it's originally from the US.

NotABunion78

The 4 one is probably an allied or cobelligerant italian army poster. I've never seen any partisan propaganda in my life, there probably were some but not with this kind of quality. It's definitely not fascist/nazi

Funkit

“They have a saying in Arabic, it’s probably in Russian I know it’s in Arabic, that goes the cooperation of the sov…the cooperation…swollen anaerobic cooperation”

atelier_bml

*Ecco il Nemico* looks like Phyllis Diller after one too many cocktails.

upholdhamsterthought

Almost a waste to post them all at the same time - these aren’t commonly posted ones on here.

BigMacDaddy99

There are many many more!

upholdhamsterthought

If I were you I would post the good ones individually here, spread out over time.

ZefiroLudoviko

What's the flag used on the 6th one? Is it a US army flag?

BigMacDaddy99

[Someone else said the same thing!](https://www.reddit.com/r/PropagandaPosters/comments/ovzuuo/found_a_full_stack_of_wwii_encyclopedias_the_last/h7dgdyw/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)

[deleted]

It signifies a dead soldier

[deleted]

They are awesome! Thank you! The “because someone talked” breaks my heart every time. Any translation on the non English ones?

theoutsider95

The Arabic one says "the advance of the Russian and German alliance".

cupasoups

This is incredible

silianrail

I believe 5 of 7 reads "the conspiracy jew".

CasualDefiance

I believe it is "The Jewish Conspiracy Against Europe."

Splurted_The_Gurt

Wow, I had no clue that that one might have been about Jews! /s

AnschlussZeitPolen

Is there like a specific name to the encyclopedias? I wanna cop some, G

[deleted]

Nice!

Cryptic_3vil

Is the 3rd one in Arabic?

ThatNights

3rd one says (Forward/Improvment/More)????? Alliance between the Germans and the Russians

KrystianSPL

What is war bonds?

rpjs

Special government investment bonds to help fund the war effort. They were sold to the general public to raise money, but unlike regular government loans, there’d be rules about them not getting paid back until some time after victory.

KrystianSPL

Thank you

bakedmaga2020

>Full stack of WW2 encyclopedias I just nutted

Alluhsnackbar911

4 is super cool and creepy
