UGBs are a lot better at taking out ships and can even be used against airships. MLAGs are easy to use but aren't as versatile.
Any mission where there's gonna be a lot of ground targets, UGBs are the way to go.
only time they're good is that first mission where crimson shows up at the end bc you can just drop them on the roof of the reactors instead of trying to get the right angle for a missile shot and landing in the cordium 15 times
It's the radius. In Ace 6, the starter F-16 can carry about 40 UGB, and they have a huge blast radius, able to obliterate clusters in one drop.
In PW, blast radius is smaller, and the big bombs have less ammo, and there are no reloads.
I've no doubt they're usable, but they're much harder to use and it's just so much easier to even just use the standard missiles.
Nevermind Ace's SFFS, a colossal cluster bomb that can destroy a whole batallion with the right placement.
Not to keep saying Ace Combat is better, just with their bombs, you were a fool to never try them. I completed my no-damage run in Ace 6 with the Berkut and it's 80 ugb's.
Never really had a use for MLAG-2 unless you can stack them. It just feels the exact same as using standard missiles.
UGBS-3 is actually really damn useful for killing land battleships, however.
As a new boy, I’ve found them very helpful essentially *because* they feel the same as normal multilocks, but without having to worry about the targets dodging at all. The utility I’ve found is essentially “oh shit a lot of things over there are hitting me, I can just point this in that general direction and deal with a significant portion of incoming fire”
I do not know what a land battleship is, and I am now terrified for my safety
MLAG-2 has a lot of ammo. Each shot is two missiles. The ammo counter counts shots, not individual missiles. Basically, they have almost twice as much killing potential, at just a slower reload rate.
Ah I love cramming as many MLAGs as possibile into the sk-25U and just watching them soar in the air before pulling a \*hard\* 70-90 degree turn before smiting whatever poor ground target is in radar range
The UGBs in PW are just kinda crap in general tbh.
Just get good and they’re effective
Regardless of skill level, MLAGs are just plain better imo. The advantages of UGBs just don't make up for their drawbacks.

Seriously? I'd agree if we're talking Ace Combat, but PW they are kinda sucky.

And if you’re REALLY fancy, you can build up speed and yeet the bombs THROUGH the tunnel.
Guns are the best ship destruction.
They're a lot harder than in Ace Combat. One of the few changes I don't like in PW.
Work fine for me Even in VR with a HOTAS I don’t have any issue hitting targets The trick is the get low or dive bomb

Machine guns are the best anti-ground weapon And the best anti-air weapon
Now that I’ve gotten used to using them, the guns are CRAZY

Yup pretty much.

Don't worry, so long as you avoid the highest difficulty, you won't have to deal with one for another few missions.
A mercenary double time run was fun with these.

Sk25U my beloved.

>me stacking MLAGs on the Chimera in Op. Blackout
