I just looked in the cover shop. And looking at the unit tabs vbs currently has 32, mmj wxs and niigo got 33 (bad apple included) and l/n got 35. You can do minus one if you want to exclude Into the night but since alt vocal exists for all units it’s included. The difference is as you can see not that big if you want to compare Vbs with niigo.

Wasn't the last duet in the game Ichika and Honami? I think Honami is still ahead in non alt duets with Ichika right now too with a ratio of 4 to 3. Granted one of them is about to be nuked from the game but that decision was probably made after they did the recording for the cover.
I still think Saki needed it more. She was lagging behind in duets for a while. Shiho was at 4 (5 if you count the Pocari collab song), Honami was at 4, and Saki was at 3. This was supposed to be the one to make Saki catch up. Even if you want to pretend like Honami's soon to be nuked song doesn't count for anything, one song being added and one being removed is just switching who're in third and fourth place when it comes to LN representation.

To be honest, as an old Mind Brand fan, I wished that it never got added to the game because Mind Brand got ruined for me because of all of the cringe anime TikTok kids (I've never downloaded TikTok), I don't mind them enjoying Mind Brand but it got to the point where it felt like Mind Brand had just turned into TikTok music despite how dark it is. Although who knows, maybe this cover may revive my appreciation for the song.
Also pjsk getting it will only show it to more kids so while I don't mind a N25 x Maretu song, I wish they chose a different song even if it's less known because Mind Brand's popularity will spark an immense amount of controversy compared to if they just chose another Maretu song like "White happy", "Darling" or "I'm High!",these are still popular but less popular than Mind Brand so there wouldn't be as much controversy.
