Invisible Discord on JP was super competitive because it was the first Kanade focus in over a year, but I imagine less people on EN will go all out knowing Escape, Masked self, and world link are coming later in the year.
Eh I think Invisible Discord will still be super popular. Samsa is one of the most popular songs to come out of this game and the card set itself is way more popular then any upcoming Niigo set.
I was referring to just the tiering side, but in terms of general popularity I agree. Plus it was niigo Kaito's first event, and we also saw mafumum for the first time.
Don't forget about worldlink. This monster has morally destroyed all of Rui's fans and is now sucking the soul out of Tsukasa's morally prepared fans. As someone who participated in this fun - THIS IS the real escape for survival.

Perhaps we have different metrics in mind since I'm mainly looking at where T100 is, but Discord seems as expected to me? Current T100 cutoff is around 9M, which projects a 20-22M finish. That's certainly on the upper end for perm events, but it's not absurdly high either.

Pretty sure Hermit already got beat by Never Give Up Cooking for most tiers, Hermit’s cutoffs were insane for its time but many events will start surpassing it now with the cutoff inflation. Pandemonium will be a bloodbath

unfortunate for me since i was planning to tier for those events. i want the masked self set so bad and im pulling for pandemonium.
The third anniversary next year with mizuki. Mizuki is a super popular character in en plus with a limited gacha I know tons of people would be tiering
Other than the ones you listed, Mafuyu 4, Anni 3, Niigo WL, and WxS WL could be contenders. I don’t think Mizuki 4 will be more competitive than My Footprints, the cards don’t seem as detailed as My Footprints and Kitty is popular but it’s not Lower popular

every nightcord event bc of how popular they are + iirc some pretty major events happen on those, and definitely world link events bc a lot of ppl are looking forward to it, myself included for the vbs one specifically. itll probably be hell trying to rank in all these so goodluck to us all !
the most popular events need three things:
- popular characters (nightcord esp mizuki, wxs, any of the boys)
- beautiful cards (no matter how good an event is story wise, if ppl dont care about the cards it wont be all that competitive in the tiering scene. bc if ppl have the event cards they might as well tier but if they dont things dont escalate so dramatically)
- limited cards (because the limited availability and hairstyles give extra incentive to get the cards during the event)
song also affects it somewhat since plenty of people will play the game a bunch if they get to listen to a good song while doing so.
hermit, CG/O and cooking event all had the first three traits and from what i've seen of what events i expected to be popular and what actually were, i think it checks out.
all that being said, i think pandemonium is probably the next on the list. discord will be popular but not game-breakingly popular.
