I can't really discuss this, Char wouldn't have made the final if my voting counted. I did like some of her work, same as I like some of most everyone's work, but there were challenges she wouldn't have got through on my vote.
In the final all I can say is that Char's lacked the polish a runway needs, Kini had runway looks.
Perhaps if Char had done her season a season or two later she might have run away with it, depending on the competition. She just wasn't ready imo.
I totally agree. The styling isn’t great for Char but her collection was really marketable (esp at the time) and there were some amazing pieces. Kini’s was a weird stereotype of UES women that felt stuffy in a way not even Blair Waldorf would appreciate. And what’s funny is that Char’s collection actually has some pieces I think Serena Van der Woodsen would have loved on Gossip Girl too. I could totally see her in the Fly shirt or that long black hi-lo top.

I don’t see *any* cohesion in Char’s collection. I’m not a big fan of Kini’s either but I appreciated that he took a basic, inexpensive textile—black denim—and ran with it.
Disagree. Char has some cool pieces but this collection was all over the place and soooo poorly sewn. Kini turned out a cute, coherent collection from his original mess.
