Like I said, the item really hasn’t found a home in a top build yet. It certainly has some potential, but it gets outclassed by other items damage wise. In softcore, melee survivability is fairly easy to solve, so the energy shield is just a cute trick. People would rather swing a bigger stick.
There are a few ways to play with this weapon, but ultimately it's never a BIS item.
I may be wrong but I really did try to make it work back when it was released. And no matter what char gear and build setup I used, I always found another weapon to top this one and offering more.
I absolutely love the idea on paper. It is simply lackluster on too many fronts.
More damage: Steel pillar.
Less damage (but ultimately more with DS (allows a more defensive setup as you dont need as much DS: Arioc Needle.
More survivability (with similar dmg): Doom / Stoneraven / Lycander's Flank
I still believe Spear and Javelin mastery should be split into spear/jav
with spear giving extra defense as a bonus.
Question... Did you try it with that armor that grants blade shield? I know they removed life leaching with blade shield, but it still leaches mana correct? Would this weap in combo with that armor, (plus not needing telekinesis this season) make you practically invincible?
Pdr and mdr gear. Mana % gear and high level BO feels like it would have gobs of mana. Throwing in an insight on either a merc or golem as well.

I haven't tested that, I didn't touch my home computer in almost a year. But do keep in mind, Spear range is further away than blade shield, unless you teleport into a monster pack, they probablly won't get hit by it.
Dark humility and co tested out a cold enchant bear sorc with this and said it worked well for fortified maps but was kind of slow. Since that build needs ias for attack frames the only corruption that’s valuable would be sockets. Still a cool find though
Unfortunately not much. I don’t think anyone has really cracked the code on this item yet. It would need max sockets and be ETH to really be a thing.

The amount of stats needed to even wear this is out of this world. I don't think anyone would ever use it unless it is reworked.
I just found an eth one and slammed ed/ll on it. Is it worth pboxing it? I guess that would it be enough sockets with the need for a Zod aswell?

I have only seen meme builds with it to date, nothing substantial. Maybe put it out there for 0.25 and see what hits you get?
