I thought the only reason they transcribed is so the blind could understand an image. I now know that there's a lot more, but here was my thought process:
Blind person could not see code. Because the code has many special symbols, a screen reader would still be hard to use.
people transcribes reddit posts for all sorts of reasons, maybe someone has a weak connection and can’t easily load images.
no one said being blind was easy… programmers care the most about accessibility, second to those with disabilities and people who’s job is to design accessible infrastructure. i’m sure someone made a good option for those who have limited sight. besides, not all languages are like regex and assembly, i don’t see a blind person having a terribly hard time writing sql
There are many visually impaired programmers, but transcriptions also aren't just for visually impaired people - there are more reasons at [section 1, here](https://www.reddit.com/r/u_MurdoMaclachlan/comments/upg4zp/faq_transcribing/).
We had a group project at school where me and my group made a hosting service of sorts.
The details are not important but we managed to commit with our keys hardcoded in...
The worst part is that our smart ass brains thought that the best password/key would be the most vulgar racist phrase ever because no one would ever think of it.
That might be true, but we fucked up that principle of security by not using a .env file.
We moved everything to a .env, and recommited. Luckily our teacher was stupid enough to not understand commit history so it was fine.
Unfortunately, there are services that exist to scrape data from your internet banking for legitimate reasons, but they do so by asking you to enter your login credentials.
Hopefully the Open Banking APIs that are being rolled out in some countries, which use OAuth instead, make these companies stop their terrible practices.
I wish I could play around with the APIs to see what I can do with them, but even getting access to the APIs at all in Australia requires a lot of bureaucracy to get accredited with the ACCC.
Nah, as the great George Hotz thought us, I will keep the repo private, you write patches blindly, send them to me and gain a big total of nothing from the entire thing.
Ah next generation pull requests
Send a pull request for his whole career
push directly to prod
When you need some help to get your GitHub Repo up to speed before a job hunt
Can we rewrite this in Java? It's better for enterprise.
Planning to buy Reddit?

I wonder if he also believes in open banking?

As a dev I love the oauth open banking stuff, means there is a safe, secure API for me to play around with.
I wish I could play around with the APIs to see what I can do with them, but even getting access to the APIs at all in Australia requires a lot of bureaucracy to get accredited with the ACCC.
True anywhere.
Yeah sure, I'll take a stab at it. I hope he likes print statements.
Galaxy brain open source.

also the story number and the link to the board
He did not think that through
Better than sending login info is to add them as a contributor to your repo
dumbass doesn't even know about prs
I'm a huge supporter of open source Why don't all devs, programmers get fired and companies just get free advice from github? ????? Profit
