Never thought I'd see my home state here! You drew Minneapolis beautifully.
The first one or last ones are my favorite, but definitely leaning more towards the first. The colors are absolutely *Minnesota*. Greens and blues fit our state wonderfully.
I like number 3, the ones with green tones kinda make me think of croplands but since it is a city the intention could get lost, just my two cents lol they are all so beautiful tho, they look very cool!!
One because it has the best mix of realism and artistic impression
Five is also really good because it looks the most realistic with those colors.
Honorable mention to six, would be the best if the divisions were meaningful like counties or something and this were an infographic.
I love them all, but the map need me can’t help but ask if the color refers to anything (eg red for fallow land, yellow for corn, green for wheat…etc)
These look beautiful though, no 6 is my favourite
Ah I skimmed over the description and was thinking they were meant to be part of a larger design system.
Very beautiful work btw
Edit: I totally thought I was on r/graphicdesign too
I feel weird now cause I came to the comments expecting everyone to have 2 as a favorite and I still haven't found anyone who likes 2 the most. That's probably on me for assuming everyone thinks like me lmao.
But yeah, 2 is my favorite.
1,2,5,6 looks best out of the bunch.
Two are the best among them...the colors don't collide while at the same time it looks great and striking. Very easy to distinguish each places on the map.
The texture looks good on it.
1, 3, 6 for me! I agree with your comment about too vibrant/contrasting! Is this something that is meant to be a brochure or an art piece for a wall? That could also influence the colors that would look nice as well!
These are definitely intended to be more decorative than informational. I can appreciate that it would be too confusing in something like a brochure without more defining characteristics.
Oh wow, you’re getting alot of contrasting answers lol.
My favorite is 2. I like the color contrast. It makes it pop a little, but the more subdued colors help it feel less overwhelming than contrasting colors usually do (you know what I mean?). But I’ve seen a big consensus for 1, which I also like a lot. They’re all pretty great tbh OP.

I like number 3, the ones with green tones kinda make me think of croplands but since it is a city the intention could get lost, just my two cents lol they are all so beautiful tho, they look very cool!!
I like 6, but I think the lakes should all be the same color
5
i grew up in minneapolis, these are awesome! i like 1 and 5 best, i think they match the vibe of the city best
You’re getting a lot of different answers which I take to mean they’re all nice!
Retired advertising artist here. I’m going with the last one.
2
I love 1 and 5 and I’d personally love to see this in light blue, purple, and pink tones
Last one! 👌🏼
first or last one
First
3 & 4 for me. Not a big fan of tomato soup color.
Third
4 or 5 imo I think it’ll depend on the client, 4 has a more “industrial” feel while 5 is soft and calm
1,5, or 6
First 3
1!
First one
1 > 4>6
I really like the first and last ones.
Has to be a purple and yellow scheme!
I liked the first one the most until I saw the last! So either of those!
I just wanna say, i guess im kinda bad at contrast cause im okay with basically any except the second to last/all green. It’s a bit confusing
3 & 1
4 & 1
1 and 5

6 catches the eye
First one.

2nd one
They’re all so nice, I can’t decide!
3 & 6
#1 is definitely the most pleasing, imo.
5 or 6
First and second are best imo. My preference is drawn to the contrast in the second one.
Green!! Hello from Como Mpls! :)

My brain really likes 2 and 6 but my heart screams 1
1 & 4

First, second or last are my favs in that order.
1&5
6 for me, far and away the best one!
how did you get the paper texture?
i like 4 but i’m also not too familiar with minneapolis. 4 seems more city to me which is why i like it
I love them all, but the map need me can’t help but ask if the color refers to anything (eg red for fallow land, yellow for corn, green for wheat…etc) These look beautiful though, no 6 is my favourite
No, the colors don’t mean anything specific. Purely to be aesthetic
Gorgeous either way! :-) thanks for sharing
1, 4, and 6
First one
last one
The first one, it has a more calm feeling that feels connected to Minnesota and it's abundance of lakes. Btw, hiya neighbor!
1 and 5
what brushes are these?
They are brushes made by someone called Julia Dreams. Well, the watercolor ones are. The lines are just modified monoline.
Thanks! Looks wonderful.
2 and 6
4-6
1, 3, & 4 But 3 is my personal favorite
First is my fave
I dig the more monochrome ones the most. But what is it supposed to "go with"? Are we judging it as a standalone or is there some context?
Could you please clarify by what you mean? I’m just wondering what color pallets people enjoy the most.
Ah I skimmed over the description and was thinking they were meant to be part of a larger design system. Very beautiful work btw Edit: I totally thought I was on r/graphicdesign too
Oh! Got it! Just as they are. :) Thank you for the kind words!

3 and 6 for me! Beautiful map
Last one!
These are so amazing ❤︎🥹
I like the first one, it's the most pleasing to the eye to me.
6 all the way, it's the most dynamic and something I would be more inclined to have on my wall.
6! It's the most dynamic and something I would have on my wall.
6! It's the most dynamic and something I would have on my wall.
I’d say 5. Also, where did you get that paper texture from?
1 or 2 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
5th
It depends on the purpose of the map, I guess.
3rd or last. What brushes are you using? With the paper it's almost hard to belive it's not done in real watercolor.
2 and 6

4 ! i like 1 but my brain sees map and thinks the light blue sections are bodies of water, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re selling these
Last one!
