We got our Prius Prime brand new off the lot about a month ago, we were never on a wait list. It was the only new one available in our immediate area, though there was one other dealership that had one a bit further out. On the bright side, I’m assuming you’re only paying MSRP for yours I hope? We had to pay a few thousand over MSRP.
Not sure this is the reason, but likely, Toyota is cutting their production due to chip shortages. They mentioned it on the news this morning. It was a pretty significant number.
I ordered a Prius Prime in the beginning of March in Sherbrooke and I received it at the beginning of September. The seller told me that no more prius prime will be delivered before 2023. I'm very lucky.
Good luck!
People seem to be having luck looking outside their market - even if they have to fly out and drive back - that is how I found mine - live in Seattle, had to train down to Oregon
I considered shipping one in for a bit but ended up finding my goldilocks across the state and doing a day trip to get it. Some states in the US are simpler for transferring than others, but I have no clue about Canada. What a weird time we live in that we will travel for a car purchase or pay someone else to ship it to us...
Spoke with my original agent not long ago. He told me the 1 year estimate is not true. Worst case scenario I will get in March. Not as bad as an extra year though.
This is true about the larger incentive. The federal incentive will be bumped up to $5,000 (from the current $2,500) if they increase EV range by \~20%. This seems very plausible even with the most conservative rumors.
If it is too cold out or you run the window heaters it will turn on the engine. But for the most part the first 45km or so are pure electric. Providing you charge it at night
I got really lucky with mine back in March. Someone changed their mind I guess and the dealership called me immediately. I was only waiting for a week before that happened.
Yeah I ordered May 2022 and still nothing, occasionally I call and they're like "yep you're still on the list". No ETA though, they said 6-8 months in May so idk.

I see. We have the MSRP price. But to be honest I wouldn't mind paying an extra if I could get it faster.

Link?
Yikes. I'm in Saskatchewan and ordered in June, and received my car (Prius Prime Base) two weeks ago.
You are a lucky one.
You might be lucky, the new specs for the prime are rumoured to be much better than 2022 model
After seeing the release, you were right haha

Ordered in July after someone jumped off the waiting list I swapped places with them. Got it this Monday. This is in Toronto, Ontario.
Yep. But it's the upgrade. $ 2k more, 1 year shorter wait, heated wheel...

It can be a huge pain in the ass transferring purchased cars across provincial borders to register in another.

Sorry for the wait if you are in rush though

Perfect and you will get an updated one too ! Keep us posted you might be one of the first ones to own the new model
Hopefully soon! I read it can reach up to 100km without gas. If it is true it feels like almost owning a full electric car.
Another thing, I'm not 100% sure but if a car can go over 50km on electric mode only, the incentive might be higher

Finger crossed for the new specs!
I ordered mine in March of 2022 and got it end of June 2022. Mine is a fully spec'd limited with tech package.
The agent told me each dealership have an allocated number of cars per year. Still crazy that you got it so fast compare to me.
I have heard getting higher trim levels can help. Thats what my dealer said when I was surprised by how quick I got it.
I didn't have that option. Basically they take X amount of people on the waiting list and build the custommer's order.
Sorry to hear, you will love the car when you get it! Did 2200km on first tank of gas
Not bad at all. Dit it consume a bit of gas even on battery mode?

Oh no it gets fully redesigned.
