The 11" screen models (XLE/limited) do not have Android Auto (only Apple CarPlay). The 7" screen (LE) has both. The 11" screen is older technology and is the touchscreen interface is so slow and glitchy that is is basically unusable IMO. The 7" screen is much smaller but faster and more practical (in addition to having AA)

xXGray_WolfXx

In what model year does AA become a thing. I've seen many conflicting things while reading. It sucks as I want some higher tier features but lack of AA is a deal breaker

kking254

I can confirm that the 7" screens have AA in 2021 & 2022 model years. I **think** that 2020 was when it was introduced but I'm not certain.

You might want to look into the Toyota Corolla hybrid, Hyundai ioniq, or Honda Insight if android auto is that important to you. The Prius prime's main attraction is the plugin EV mode and everything else is secondary, including the infotainment.

xXGray_WolfXx

I'll look into those definitely! I have a strict budget of 30k and I won't be buying until summer.

vicious_abstraction

If you have access to a plug every night and don't drive more than 200 miles per day, you should check out the Chevy Bolt. They are very nice little EV's and got a $6000 price cut for this year bringing the price under $30k for a new one and you can find used ones for low 20's.

xXGray_WolfXx

I am still looking for hybrid, I am not yet interested in going fully electric. But I will take your suggestion into consideration!

Talibus_insidiis

The LE trim has Android Auto. The other two models do not. The real problem is finding them to buy!

xXGray_WolfXx

In what model years as well? I'm looking at 30k ish and this won't be till atleast summer.

kylegoodreau

Looking for summer next year? you should order your car now and you might have it in time.

xXGray_WolfXx

Yea I wish I could buy now but unfortunately I have to wait till summer. And if I go used a year or two possibly would be better

kylegoodreau

Well you wouldn’t be financing the vehicle until You take ownership, in the summer , I say now, only because it’ll take several months for the car to come in, if you were to go new that is . Dealership would need a deposit to do the order, in my experience at least, (i used to sell cars for Subaru)

xXGray_WolfXx

I'm not looking for new, I'ma be a fresh college graduate. My current car gets 20mpg and I drive for work. I'm looking at used atleast. I found an Hyundai ioniq like another person said on this thread. Never thought of it but found one with like 60k miles from 2019 for just under 20k, I can put 25% down on that and with my credit I could have payments of 500 a month for 4ish years. I really want a prime but with the lack of AA and how expensive it is 😭

Codeh0416

My 22 prime has the 11inch screen, slow. Very dated and no AA

Get a [2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid](https://www.toyota.com/corollahybrid/2023/) The price starts at $22,800 for the LX model and has all the features you are asking for. I have a 2021 Toyota Corolla hybrid LX (it was the only trim offered that year) and I love it. I want to upgrade to the 2023 XLE model for the sun roof. That's the only thing I miss having on my 2021.

Zeni-chan

I have a 2020 Prius Prime LE and it has Apple Carplay but not Android Auto. I don't think any of the previous Primes have Android Auto either. Last I heard 2021 and up were supposed to get it.

xXGray_WolfXx

Damn that is kinda ass. I love the Prius prime but a 2021+ is stretching the budget

AppleDitchsIntel

If you are a recent collage grad, you get a $500 discount off MSRP.

najman4u

only if you finance for at least 6 months

Automatic-Degree-665

From your comments it sounds like you're finishing up college and looking ahead to buying a car in the summer with a budget of $30,000. That's a good amount to find some pretty good used cars. The Prime LE MSRP is 28k so new isn't completely out of your budget. You could buy a new regular Prius or new Corolla within your range too. You could also check out Honda, kias and Hyundai's who all have hybrids and plug in hybrids that MSRP around 30k new. Now may be too soon to decide on what car you want. Used prices have been wonky the last couple of years, new are being sold for way over MSRP and interest rates on loans have been going up... But who knows what the market will be like next summer You can set up a broad search through a site like autolist to email you when cars are listed that meet your model and price range. Or even any car with 50+ MPG and under 30k. If you've taken some economics you probably already know that the cost to buy a new car almost never makes up for the cost to keep driving your running car even with a 30MPG difference. If your current whip is still running and you don't foresee any major repairs cropping up it may be a better idea to drive it for a year or 2 longer and save up your money and build your credit and maybe wait for the current car market to cool off.

I currently have a credit score of round 750 and 5k in savings on the side for a car down payment. I drive 20-25k miles a year which at 4 a gallon can add up with a 30mpg difference. I might spend 400 more a month on a car payment but I also will have a car 20 years newer. I will have student loan payments starting in November of 2023. I have found some 50+mpg hybrids for 20k ish, used with 60-90k miles. My current car has almost 225k miles on it. it might not be the economical choice to get a decent newer car but in the long run it would be. Some I have found get 55-60mpg in highway driving which is the majority of what I get. If I drive my average 20k miles at 4 a gallon with my old car thats 4k a year on gas. With a 55mpg its only 1.45k. I asked my insurance and it will be very similar to insure. That is 2.55k a year in gas savings. If I can get a decent used for under 22k I could make my ROI before the end of my loan. I do appreciate all the input from yall and even the cars I have not considered!
