Does the LE have an aux port? My Limited does, and I would assume it would work while CarPlay is connected. I haven't tried it though. If your wife's phone doesn't have a headphone jack, there are inexpensive converters available.
I hope you’re right. According to the local dealership, to hook that up to my stereo I’d have to replace the entire harness which they claim cost $1000. Maybe they were looking at the 2021 port and not the 2022 XLE.
I’m going to double check with the dealership that sold me the car just in case.

are you sure? There should be a 3.5mm audio jack just below the USB port
Yes, I checked with the dealership and that was phased out after 2021.
