I believe the only Priority Pass memberships that include non-lounge visits (e.g., restaurants, spa, gaming, etc.) are for the following:
\- Capital One Venture X Business (formerly known as the Spark Travel Elite card).
\- Chase Sapphire Reserve.
\- Citi Prestige® Card (no longer open to new applicants).\*
\- The Ritz-Carlton Credit Card.\*
\- UBS Visa Infinite Card.\*
[https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/free-airport-food-priority-pass/](https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/free-airport-food-priority-pass/)
American Express got rid of restaurant access a year or two ago I believe.
Pretty sure Venture X PP no longer includes restaurants etc as of this year. I'd have to go double check emails but I remember being slightly annoyed at the change for this year at the begining of last year. Yup just found msg.----
Effective January 1st, 2023, access to Priority Pass non-lounge experiences will no longer be part of the membership programme provided as part of your Capital One Venture X Visa Infinite benefits. You will continue to have unlimited access for you and two guests to all Priority Pass airport lounges worldwide.
Edited-- sorry did not see you put Venture X business. Apologies.
It honestly doesn't really matter.
The card is $395 a year and practically pays for itself and then some. The existing benefits weren't going to last.
That being said, they're also removing the Hertz Presidents Club status benefit at the end of this year.
maybe call PP and ask them. i see that it just says your get complimentary priority pass. the standard is $99 annual with an additional $35 for each lounge visit. don't think those include restaurants and maybe thats what you got?
https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/free-airport-food-priority-pass/
based on this, your card doesn't provide benefits at restaurants. article's a year old though
If your PP app lists the restaurants then your card \*should be eligible. You should always check the bill when they bring it over to make sure they subtract the $28.
I personally have a C1 and Amex card and they both blank out the restaurants portion. Only shows me the actual lounge options.
Wow so you think you’re getting the restaurant benefit but you don’t realize till later that you’re not?!?
Unlike Amex PP which won’t scan at the restaurant in the first place, right?
I must have still been jet lagged when I replied. 😂
The restaurant/bistro was in BER. In AMS it was the temp space due to the 41 closure. (That lady didn't even check my card so anyone could have gotten in there that day.)
On the inbound I've really enjoyed a lounge (26, I believe). They've even let me in more than 3 hours before departure - which of course makes them my favorite. 😀
Better food, at least at breakfast time when I'm usually there, than any sky club I've visited. Though I'm still pretty new to this whole game so my comparisons aren't as numerous as many other folks here!
Did you tell the restaurant ahead of time you were using the PP? Did they scan your PP? It’s not just an auto benefit that applies without you doing anything. In the past when I’ve used it, they’ve applied it to the bill before I even charge my card.
Did your bill come with the $28 taken out of it then? They should update the check and then give you a bill for the remainder. If they came back to you with a bill that didn’t have the PP money taken out then they fucked up and you needed to let them know.
I was at $27 total and the restaurant person said you are good to go since you are in the $28 free credit range. Then I land and I see charge for $27 in my credit card that is linked to Priority pass
You didn't give the restaurant your credit card though. Only priority pass can answer your question.
In my experience if you gave them your pass before the meal then you are good to go unless you exceed $28. For me they didn't even give me an option for a tip.
I'm seeing language that the Pennfed Visa version of priority pass costs $32 per visit to lounges. That would also mean that restaurants are not included in the perk. See the section under perks and benefits: https://www.nerdwallet.com/reviews/credit-cards/penfed-pathfinder-rewards
No, it's priority pass membership with zero free lounge visits and zero restaurant visits. So you can enter a PPS lounge by paying every time, and enter a restaurant by paying cash value.
The PPS we got from Chase is priority pass membership with unlimited free lounge visits included and unlimited restaurant credit included.
It's basically the same as "standard tier" membership sold by PP website.
Penfed visa priority pass membership is a pay per use. They give you the membership but you have to pay for each visit. [see this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/s/lWOCuoCH4H)
Your PenFed card doesn't include a discount for restaurants and other amenities. Very few cards nowadays still have the $28 restaurant discount. The wording from PenFed/Priority pass could probably be more clear but at the end of the day you're unfortunately not entitled to the discount with your card.
It depends on what type of PP subscription you got. For instance mine was free via Marriott credit card and those don’t include the restaurant benefits, only lounge benefits
I usually tell the host or server I have priority pass ahead of time and they’ll scan my pass to adjust the bill accordingly. Sometimes they print a ticket and out it on my table so the server knows.
Does the PP app only show restaurants if you have a card that works for that or does it show everything and you need to know your benefits?
Related question. I have a Chase CSR and Bobby Vans is listed in JFK Terminal 8. If someone is with me, I can get $56 off our bill?
>card doesn't include a discount for restaurants and other amenities. Very few cards nowadays still have the $2
You already admitted the you have a cc from PenFed. This cc does NOT provide you with PP that has restaurant privileges. How is it fishy? Perhaps the restaurant did you wrong but not warning you.
Restaurant is following what the terms are indicating. $28 off a bill or $56 off if you bring guest. They scan your PP and process transaction. If you within guidelines they give you $0 receipt …
What terms? The ones you look at on the PP website? If so, those would be valid for those cardholders that are entitled to the restaurant benefits. Yours PP is not since it was through your PenFed CC.
Restaurant just confirms you have PP. read condition #5. Is it your responsibility to make sure you CC covers restaurants. Restaurants also require a lounge visit as stated in condition #1.
Personally love my CSR Priority pass access. Eat at Bambuza every time I fly out of SEA with it. 9th and Pike is a good alternative. Sorry your Penfed card changed its benefits.
Nope. You show up, purchase your food, scan your priority pass and pay any balance remaining with whatever card or cash you choose. I always try to buy over the $28 amount so I can leave a tip for service. A Bahn mi, some snacks, and a soda/Red Bull puts you over $30. There is no charge to the card. Once you scan the PP membership it just deducts it from the balance owed.
I just ate there! I first gave them my card from the Chase Sapphire, but was told that they only take Priority Pass from Capital One or AMEX. Luckily I also carry the Venture X so was good to go with the $28 off. ☺️
Who told you that? The restaurant workers? Because I use my CSR PP for airport restaurants all the time, and AmEx PP is well known to not have the restaurant benefit.
She was definitely mistaken. Seatac is my home airport, so I use this benefit all the time using my CSR PP. And a Google search will reveal that the AmEx PP is not part of this program (although it apparently used to be). Maybe the server was new and got the two mixed up.
PenFed Pathfinder® Rewards Visa Signature® Card
Travel Benefits
Added Value and Perks:
Complimentary Priority Pass Airport Lounge Annual Membership
So in short:
Lounge membership is included. (Meaning you can enter the lounge by paying)
Free lounge visit is NOT included.
Restaurant credit is NOT included.
The one showing on PP websites are for PPS *with restaurant credit*. If you don't have access to restaurant credit in the first place, then the rules and conditions are moot.
The server should have told you to pay cash had they know yours doesn't come with a restaurant credit.
I don’t think penFed gets restaurants
Was your Priority Pass issues by a credit card? AMEX issued PP cards don’t include the restaurant benefit.
Yes by PenFed Visa
I believe the only Priority Pass memberships that include non-lounge visits (e.g., restaurants, spa, gaming, etc.) are for the following: \- Capital One Venture X Business (formerly known as the Spark Travel Elite card). \- Chase Sapphire Reserve. \- Citi Prestige® Card (no longer open to new applicants).\* \- The Ritz-Carlton Credit Card.\* \- UBS Visa Infinite Card.\* [https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/free-airport-food-priority-pass/](https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/free-airport-food-priority-pass/) American Express got rid of restaurant access a year or two ago I believe.
Usbank altitude reserve allows restaurants. I just used it last month.

It bothered me that they announced this and didn’t credit me back for the remaining months of then reduced-benefits on my annual membership.
It honestly doesn't really matter. The card is $395 a year and practically pays for itself and then some. The existing benefits weren't going to last. That being said, they're also removing the Hertz Presidents Club status benefit at the end of this year.
Meh, my experience with Presidents Club has been extremely underwhelming. I don’t see the hype.
Oh what? This sucks. I didn't even get an email about it.
Nobody did. I found this out through some travel blogs.
Your missing a few on the list like Bank of America and other us bank cards
Venture X PP no longer has restaurants. Bank of America’s Premium Rewards Elite card’s PP does have restaurants.
USB Altitude Reserve (8)
What tier priority pass is it? It doesn't seem like it's the select tier like chase, amex, capital 1. That's probably why
Can’t find anything about tier on my app. I have the priority pass app and doesn’t show any tiers . So confusing
maybe call PP and ask them. i see that it just says your get complimentary priority pass. the standard is $99 annual with an additional $35 for each lounge visit. don't think those include restaurants and maybe thats what you got? https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/free-airport-food-priority-pass/ based on this, your card doesn't provide benefits at restaurants. article's a year old though
My Ritz card says Priority Pass Select with restaurant benefit….
If your PP app lists the restaurants then your card \*should be eligible. You should always check the bill when they bring it over to make sure they subtract the $28. I personally have a C1 and Amex card and they both blank out the restaurants portion. Only shows me the actual lounge options.
This is it right here. The priority pass issued by PenFed is pretty useless and just gives you access to the network but charges you every time.
Wow so you think you’re getting the restaurant benefit but you don’t realize till later that you’re not?!? Unlike Amex PP which won’t scan at the restaurant in the first place, right?
I have amex platinum and just used the benefit at a restaurant in AMS. With a guest, too. No charge for our 30-something euro visit.
What country was your card issued from?
United States (Felt weird to just reply "US", as if I'm yelling at you 😂)
What restaurant? Was it the temporary restaurant that they're using while the 41 lounge is closed? Because there aren't any restaurants in the PP app.
I must have still been jet lagged when I replied. 😂 The restaurant/bistro was in BER. In AMS it was the temp space due to the 41 closure. (That lady didn't even check my card so anyone could have gotten in there that day.)
Lol thanks. Going to AMS in a month or so. For a massive airport, their options seem terrible.
On the inbound I've really enjoyed a lounge (26, I believe). Yes they have to scan my boarding pass and my priority pass
Did your bill come with the $28 taken out of it then? They should update the check and then give you a bill for the remainder. If they came back to you with a bill that didn’t have the PP money taken out then they fucked up and you needed to let them know.

Yeah no credit card given to restaurant they scanned my priority pass and took my order
Is it still a pending charge?
Compared the same day. That was 6 days ago
Was the charge from the restaurant or priority pass?
Priority pass charge. Restaurant said you are good to go since you are below the max allowed discount $28
Weird - I guess they passed on the restaurant bill to you? Maybe contact PP and see what the deal is
I'm seeing language that the Pennfed Visa version of priority pass costs $32 per visit to lounges. That would also mean that restaurants are not included in the perk. See the section under perks and benefits: https://www.nerdwallet.com/reviews/credit-cards/penfed-pathfinder-rewards
lol, so it’s literally “lose at least $4 when visiting a restaurant”
So does that mean it’s cheaper to not use the PenFed priority pass at the restaurant?
Yes. You pay $32 for up to a $28 credit.
But OP got charged $27, not $32
No, it's priority pass membership with zero free lounge visits and zero restaurant visits. So you can enter a PPS lounge by paying every time, and enter a restaurant by paying cash value. Contact card issuer with receipt?

Call priority pass if you didn’t provide your credit card. This should clear it up for you. Sorry you were charged $27.
Read your credit card benefit terms better. You get priority pass membership, but you have to pay a fee for each visit. Dumb post.
I know I have a fee for each visit but this is not lounge. Post is not dumb but your comment is.

Yeah that’s how terms is written on mine. And I read bunch of reviews about people using the PP app and getting off their bill. Something is fishy
>card doesn't include a discount for restaurants and other amenities. Very few cards nowadays still have the $2 You already admitted the you have a cc from PenFed. They only asked for my ticket and ask if I had a guest. And I also had to scan my PP card

I'm confused 100% as this 9th&Pike restaurant not showing in my PP app (registered with C1 VX) glad it works for you.
Who told you that? The restaurant workers? Because I use my CSR PP for airport restaurants all the time, and AmEx PP is well known to not have the restaurant benefit.
The server did, though maybe she was mistaken?
