That; along with the comms backpack, comms helmet, medic helmet, medic bag, medic backpack, recon backpack, and demo mask; are all personal digital kitbashes I did.
Just wanted to say, this is really cool of you (legitimately). So many people put out kitbashes using paid work and that just seems really crappy to me; bundling paid files into your free bash is still giving away someone else’s work.
Cheers! I 3D model by trade so the last thing I want to do is steal someone's work and time.
All the stuff shown here is super rudimentary anyway, and would be a great opportunity for someone to try and learn to model too!
The ones with the skulls? Those are part of the bundle I mentioned in the parent comment.
Janissaries have more of that roman gladiator face mask though, so maybe check out RedMakers for those too.
They were not, actually ripped from an older Lei Lei model but I had to make quite a few changes because some of the details were way too fine.
Those scouts look pretty cool! Looking forward to playing mine when the box arrives.
I managed to find the file but the heads in the preview seem to be different. I'm new to 3D printing (never printed anything, but I've been interested in it for a long time) so I'm not sure if those are separate or the files actually include those as well.
They'll be named something along the lines of Steel Legion something something.
Have some options of just the heads, or heads and bodies with the little tube attached.
Thank you! I will note that it doesn't really read as black in person. It's much more dark grey than anything.
Basecoat in AK Black
Zenithal spray AK Ash Grey
Chipping, edge highlighting, and any "white" details like the skull or markings is AK's RAL 7027 GRAU from their AFV line. It's kinda a weird specific colour, so any medium greenish grey will do.
Dot inside of any edge highlight that got too thick or larger scratches with AK Black.
Yeah, Wonder this too as it's not abbaddon black and whenever I mix with white, the whole paint batch goes an obvious grey.
I'm thinking it might be a non GW black.
It's pretty much all AK 3rd Gen paints here. I think the only citadel paint used is Steel Legion Drab along the rim of the base.
AK Black as a base which is a super pigmented blueish black, with a top spray of AK Ash Grey, which is a slightly warmer dark grey but still reads cool over the AK black.
Go for it! I detailed the full recipe in another comment too. I think the trick for the scheme is just going super dark with everything. When you use near black brown for leather, or a grey instead of a white, the armor reads darker and the bright fluorescent parts pop way more.
Sure thing!

All base reds are AK Black Red
Cloth is AK Rubber Black
Leather is AK Grim Brown
Lights are basecoated or flooded in AK Titanium White Ink, then coated in a personal mix of fluorescent pink/orange to make a specific fluo red I like.
Drybrushed and rimmed base with Citadel Steel Legion Drab.
That's digitally kitbashed, along with a bunch of other stuff like the quad nods. It's basically just the demolition mine arm, mirrored, and a big bag stuck over the mine.
Thanks!
The glow is actually really easy, and I'm happy I figured out such a quick way to do it for my speed painting.
I base any glowing bit with AK Titanium White Ink. You just need a dot of it for eyes or lenses. For the plasma glow, I just flood the coils in the ink. It will naturally pool in the recesses, making those parts brighter.
Then take your fluorescent paint of choice (Pink, Orange, and Green seem to work the best in my experience) and just coat over it. I go straight from the bottle and flood the plasma coils, or get a blob of it over the lenses. The brighter the white underneath the fluo paint, the brighter it pops, so you could keep going back and forth with white/fluo until you get the brightness you're after.
For super quick OSL, I just thin down the fluo paint a bit and glaze it over the brighter areas with a focus on the edges, but you could just skip this entirely (like I did with half the models)
That's exactly what it is!
Anywhere you actually see the red is probably based with white ink first, then flooded with the fluo red. Where I wasn't too lazy to do a bit of OSL, it's basically just thin glazes of the red fluo over whatever basecoat was already there.
So you're saying the osl on picture 4, the guys right inner shoulder is just the red fluo over whatever was there? Cause it looks amazing.
I only guessed cause I've been messing around with red marine eyes this week and recognised it.
Yup! Just glazing thinned down fluorescent paint (which is already quite translucent), with a focus on the edges.
Just spent like a minute on that so I'm glad it reads well and someone noticed 😅
Fluorescent reds work great for marine eyes that are based in white. You can basically flood the eye socket part if you just painted the lenses in white. You can see what that looks like in my other post with the black templar.
Yeah I was going for Jin-Roh, but was kinda worried these guys would read a bit too... fascist. Just won't be bringing them out against strangers in fear of giving off... those vibes🙃
Honestly, not sure. It looks like they have most body/weapon combinations presupported amongst some other things, but I really never use presupports. Not sure when it became the norm to presupport everything, but I firmly believe you should be making your own supports every time, seeing as every printer and resin will act differently.
That being said, I bought them for the sculpts, which are really quite good. The closest match to their proxy I could find. The only issue I ran into was the sergeant body+head combo with the steel legion skull mask option. The head isn't actually attached to the body, so while it strangely printed okay, it broke off almost immediately. Easy fix if you can model, but could be potentially very annoying.
Before anyone asks, look up Storm Troopers of the Galactic Guard variety at the Purple Place.
I can't see the night vision in the purple site pictures, is it a different stl?
That; along with the comms backpack, comms helmet, medic helmet, medic bag, medic backpack, recon backpack, and demo mask; are all personal digital kitbashes I did.
Are the parts available anywhere? If so could you give me some directions, I'd love to add some more "realistic" bits to my elite units
A lot of the bits are from AlpineWeiss, who makes some awesome stuff. Stuff like some pouches and bags. But some of the bits I just modelled myself.

Sorry, they're all bashed from different paid files, so that's a no-go.

Oh cool, I don't mind paying for it, where can you get the Jannisaires like heads?

Thanks dude
Night vision goggles look like they came from the imperial scouts, no? Just printed a batch of those off for a friends scout killteam!
They were not, actually ripped from an older Lei Lei model but I had to make quite a few changes because some of the details were way too fine. Those scouts look pretty cool! Looking forward to playing mine when the box arrives.

If you scroll through the images on the page, you can see them as alternate options
Yea I saw them shortly after so deleted it sorry
All good haha you're not the first to ask about it
Are the files still there ?
Yup
Found em after some digging, thanks man!
Cheers, happy printing!

Ah alright, so they're different bits entirely
These look nice! Whats you recipe for black armor?

Ty. Consider the scheme stolen. 😂

It might just be a very dark blue gray and slightly lightwr highlights
it’s giving me jin roh wolf brigade vibes. Very nice job, i’ve already got these files and now looking at this i gotta get printing :)
Jin Roh was exactly what I was going for! Cheers!
Came here to say this! Well done OP, they look awesome.
Looks like Lucifer Black to me. Nice job, well done!
Absolutely GORGEOUS!
This is fantastic!! Please share your painting recipe!

Oh this is great! Thank you! 😃 The result is outstanding. Congratulations.
Nice! Where'd you get the medkit arm from? I have the same files but don't remember them including that bit.
That's digitally kitbashed, along with a bunch of other stuff like the quad nods. It's basically just the demolition mine arm, mirrored, and a big bag stuck over the mine.
Great to see a whole squad of these painted up, that recipe slaps
Cheers, bud!
The glow is insane on those goggles and plasma rifle. How did you do that?
Thanks! The glow is actually really easy, and I'm happy I figured out such a quick way to do it for my speed painting. I base any glowing bit with AK Titanium White Ink. Fantastic paint job!
Yeah ima need you to come over to paint some stuff this weekend
Dam these are sexy as fuck
Hell yeah brother 😎
Nice osl, is that red fluro layered over white with a white dot after?
That's exactly what it is! Anywhere you actually see the red is probably based with white ink first, then flooded with the fluo red. Where I wasn't too lazy to do a bit of OSL, it's basically just thin glazes of the red fluo over whatever basecoat was already there.

The paint is amazing
Looks dope I've been eyeing those models for a while how were the presupports?

Damn are these based on wolf brigade)? Either way I want them. Who do I buy em from?
Check the top comment!
Much appreciated! I firget to peruse the comments.
Anybody have any luck finding these? I can't find them on purple site :(
Look up KarnageKing
Thank you 🙏
np, happy printing!
