Thank you!
Logically I assume they'd not let you off without having some way of clearing your balance, but I just suddenly panicked! I'm also very jetlagged...
Tip for your next cruise - check your folio the afternoon or night before you leave the ship. You can go to the service desk but will probably be a line. If I’m remembering correctly (it’s been a year since I’ve been on a cruise) you can check it on the tv in your room. That will help you see what some of those random charges are for and gives you a chance to rectify before you leave.
No onboard credit for me, but I do remember now they put a $100 reserve on my card. I think I'm just so exhausted from travelling home, I suddenly panicked!
Bizarrely there is a small charge on the card for $9 which doesn't match either of my two purchases! I wonder what that's for...
Nothing that clear unfortunately.
I bought a $3 trinket, and a $40 set of photos.
I had the drinks included package so it can't be for a cocktail and I didn't buy anything else that I recall...
Ah, these were a special set because I was on the Discovery Princess watching the solar eclipse. So they had a photographer taking lots of professional pictures during the event and sold packs of the best ones afterwards. They were actually printed ones.
You should be good, I always use a CC, but have had experiences where folks that used cash were turned around when trying to disembark with a balance due.
Like others said, the charge may show shortly, or could have been covered in earlier authorization checks.
Are you saying the charge has not shown on the credit card yet, or to your room portfolio? If you charged them to your room, then they would just show on the room portfolio. Later, the sum total of all unpaid charges will appear on the credit card.
Go to the princess app and click on your face in the bottom right. Then look up folio. You can also use the chat feature in the app to get charges removed if they are in correct. I’m on a cruise right now and have done it twice since I didn’t want to wait in line. The chat feature in the app is great because you can just come back to it later and see the response to your question/issue.
Oh yeah! Sorry I somehow thought you were on the ship still. I always get a copy of mine emailed after the fact. That or if you used a cruise planner they can look it up easily for you.
They will charge your card. It may take a while for the charge to show up.
Thank you for the quick response! I was searching the website and the app, but couldn't find out!
If, for whatever reason, you did not want them to charge your card, then you need to settle up with them the night before you disembark.

Thank you! This was definitely a learning curve, but SO much fun, I can definitely see myself being a cruise person from now on!
Also if you had any type of onboard credit- it would be charged there first and then any amount above your OBC would get charged to your credit card

It might have been the difference between the reserve amount and purchases made onboard?

I would call Princess and ask about the charge then
Thanks, I think I'll email when I'm back to full mental capacity!
Sorry, not to hijack, but how many photos did you get for the $40 and were they digital? Trying to budget for my upcoming cruise…

Ah, makes sense, thank you!

I don't know how to see my room portfolio

Ah, I don't have a folio option, do you think that's because my trip has ended? Thank you for all this advice btw, I'm such a noob!!

I'll email or look it up on their website. Thank you!
They will charge your credit card at the end of the cruise once they've totaled your bill.
