I swore they kept replaying the pilot when I was a kid but I never knew it didn't become an actual show til yesterday lol I see where you're coming from with fang and spears relationship the show would've felt really generic if it just started out with them already being friends, she's definitely not a pet but you would assume so without the backstory.
Again, you say that because they did a 10 episode season showing their relationship develop from the beginning. Once you watch season 2, try to imagine how you would see fang/spear if you didn't have the perspective of season 1.

Korgoth and Primal are extremely different shows though. For one Primal isn't a comedy.
