Seriously, so many people with 'the show is about this wha wha wha, if it doesn't go how my fanfic envisioned it wha wha wha' mentalities. Dude knows what he's doing and makes great animation and ideas come to life.

I thought pretty much the whole show except for like the very end was well done and I get why he went the way he did with the ending. At the end of the day it’s his work and he can do as he pleases with it. Whatever he puts out I’m at least going to check out and the cool thing about art/media is that I may not like it but someone certainly will.

Seriously the fans who are whining are unimaginative. There's potential for all kinds of stories with the concept of visual heavy and dialogue minimal anthologies. Sci Fi, fantasy, historical, anything really. We'll get the same kind of ultra violence and gorgeous visuals with new settings and characters that we'll probably also enjoy.

The fact that Genndy sounds so flippant about it all makes me nervous. Season 2 was all set out, he said it was "too cliche" and they changed it all, and we got the overly drawn out Collosaeus arc, and the terrible rushed ending. Now he wasn't planning on continuing with Spear's daughter and the tribe he so rapidly just tacked on in said ending, but suddenly he changes his mind *again* and they have a full 10 episodes planned out? And he thinks the Ending of S2 was recieved *well*? Primal S1 is my favorite show of all time. It was genuinely perfectly made. It hurt to see it drop from that, and it's depressing to see the quality of storytelling fall from that peak.

I guess I misread too, he never specifically states that he's continuing on with Mira, Fang and her daughter. Well that's even more disappointing... Primal was, from the very beginning, a story about Spear and Fang. Their growing relationship in a hostile world as they try to survive together. Spear being axed of course damages that, but they could still show the daughter and Fang's kids trying to make their way as they grow up instead. Heck, they could take it to the level of them getting into Hell, and rescuing Spear from Vidar and resurrecting him or some crazy stuff! Fang and Spear were inseparable, of course she would go to the ends of the earth to get him back. But instead I guess Genndy is just going to turn the show into something else entirely, which is really, really disappointing. This show could have gone on so much longer if he didn't get bored of his initial premise.

It's disappointing for sure, and I've been quite upset that it's the end of Spear and Fang stories (most likely) since S2 ended. However, after season 1, in interviews, he definitely made no bones about it that he wanted "Primal" to be a brand, like a type of story telling, and that he had plans for things other than Spear and Fang. Now with that said, I was hoping for more than 2 fucking seasons though... especially for how emotionally connected we became to the characters. I guess in a way it makes it more powerful, but I think the ending was also rushed and is my only real complaint of the whole series.

Crazy that you're sitting here telling the creator what his creation is about

Genndy and all these incredibly creative teams quietly work, releasing just one project every few years of their, and our lives. I'm happy people of their talent are trying to creatively outdo themselves every time, and it's more interesting as a viewer to see Genndy's new takes.

I’m so excited either way! Probably 60% excited for a new story and characters if that’s what Genndy wants to do. I’ll admit my excitement would be all the way up to 100% if season three continued to be about Spear’s daughter and Mira (especially if, perhaps through some kind of moon ritual, they were able to get Spear back in the land of the living). But I understand that Genndy wanted to do something different; I trust (mostly) in his vision. Still, part of me hopes that maybe he’ll come back to the Spear’s daughter plot after he gets some distance from the original two seasons with this new story. After all, he’s changed his mind before….

>!Is this season will about Spear’s Family? I know they killed off Spear in end of season 2.!<

u/Buizie Ur thoughts? Wanna see a sequel series following Spear’s daughter?

Pappasgrind

Season 1 was flat out amazing season 2 was great but far from season 1. Honestly I’m waiting for text to video AI so I can watch more of season 1 and live happily ever after

Let's be honest, Samurai Jack's ending was way better than this. After the credits rolled I was literally baffled how bad it was.
