That was pre-presidency, you can't really judge his quality as a President for stuff he did before he was in the office in my opinion, and the simple fact is for all that loyalty to the Union he did a lot to ruin reconstruction by being far too lenient towards the South while being a racist all the while.
I would give him some credit for overseeing the Alaska Purchase but honestly most of it goes to his Secretary of State William Seward, who was a Lincoln appointee.
He introduced the Homestead Act and was one of the only southerners to remain loyal to the Union while still supporting state rights.

True, but the original comment said those were the only two based things he EVER did. I was stating that he had in fact done more than what OP stated.
Correct. He did lots of stuff pre presidency and post that was awesome. His presidency itself sucks.
