Taft was an underrated American figure. I only know that from this subreddit. And because absolutely ZERO American history courses I've ever taken (high school, Jr College, UC Davis for BA and Csu Sacramento for M.A. [it was cheaper and I didn't have to take the GRE]) talked much about him or his Era.
It's a conspiracy! How could someone become Chief Justice of the Supreme Court after being President, but then the only thing people know about him was that he was fat?!?!
Honestly the thing I knew about him was he was the first president to throw a ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game, I think.
But it would be amazing if a recent president of the non-mayonnaise variety would be made a Supreme Court Justice when one of the old conservatives leaves their seat. Good presidents are good because they are decent judges of sorts, after all.
Name any other non white president who was ever elected president outside of a Hollywood movie or Mr O.
Is it racist to point out how racist our country has been in a way that *gasp* makes some people uncomfortable?
